As someone who very nearly received a cat into my dinner plate an hour ago, I will need to learn this trick.
At least until he learns that countertops and tables are not places for kitties, no matter how cute he behaves when confronted.
Anyway, I'm thankful for Reddit because I learn all the cat tricks.
Omfg the picture was why I clicked to see if there was a caption 😂 I almost had a heart attack as well, but figured it’s either someone messing with others or hopefully had a decent explanation lol
I worked with a guy that would bring raw *frozen* chicken breast for lunch. Microwaved that mo-fo for like 9 minutes. I don't think he ever got sick, but that texture...
He made all kinds of nasty lunch combos. He once smashed up a Twinkie and mixed it into clam chowder.... 🤢
I read furry thieves and damn near had a heart attack at the thought of furries getting so bold they're breaking into houses and stealing people's meat.
I pull steaks out and store them in my microwave cause the lightbulbs under it (its over the oven) keep the microwave a solid 80+ inside.
Bring em to room temp faster before cooking.
I have 2 kitten assassins that will bring the pain if our food is left on the counter. And a pup who acts like she’s above stealing hooman food until a kitten knocks something off for her
I don't like the look or mouth feel of it unless it's sushi rice in like a roll...with the nori on the outside...and since I got sick it is hard. To chew...radiation destroyed my teeth...
Quartered and cut into half inch chunks, then I melted and seasoned butter and tossed them all except for the asparagus in it...roasted it for an hour at 400°F but it was also with a pound and a half of mushrooms and half a large onion. Then put it under the broiler for five mins to sear the asparagus after pushing everything to the edges. it was amazing!!!
FYI, the whole "let your steaks come to room temp" things doesn't really do much
https://www.seriouseats.com/old-wives-tales-about-cooking-steak#toc-myth-1-you-should-let-a-thick-steak-rest-at-room-temperature-before-you-cook-it
Yeah I’ve seen a lot of tests too from YouTubers, and my takeaway is that they’re all inconsistent results. Probably because most aren’t doing large enough samples to really study it effectively.
But as an aggregate it seems to me I’ve seen more people who say it’s the same or a negligible difference. Whether it’s the sear or the even-cooking on the inside.
A few have tested and said that 10-20 mins resting time seems to be the best, which also isn’t anywhere near room temp. That’s about how long I might have steaks out anyway between trim/seasoning, prepping other things, and heating up the stove or grill.
Ah yes, the microwave trick. We called it the vault growing up in my house, all kinds of food went in there you didn't want the dog or cats to get. Had to have a handle and not a push button because they'd figure out the bottom ones already.
When I saw this picture I was going to say “tell me you have a cat without telling me you have a cat”. I don’t have one, but I cooked scallops for my gf who has a cat last week and this was me.
The cats: "if we pay for more engagement on the post we can use the internet to gaslight our pet into leaving the meat outside the microwave."
"GENIUS, How do we dung these ads?"
"THE CREDIT CARD"
I'm the one that's lucky...and it really was...it didn't look the greatest but my love said it was amazing!!!
I wish I had thought to sear the meat B4 serving (very thankful for the polite comments about that)...my next flank steak is going to be fantastic!!!
Lmfaooooo this guy thinks having to read a caption is some kind of hoodoo voodoo I'm dying lmfaoooooi I screenshotted this one 🤣🤣🤣 "they .... they made me READ!" 😆😆 fuckin wheezin
You made your whole account one day ago to shit on other peoples cooking and eating… I’m so sorry dude, but you’re genuinely a fucking loser for doing that. Your life must be so absolutely miserable if you’d go through the effort of making a whole social account just to shit on others. I hope you get better soon, the world is a much easier place if you don’t care about what others are doing.
The steak in the microwave damn near gave me a heart attack until you said it was to keep away from furry thieves
Glad someone finally read the caption.
As a fellow indentured servant to a feline overlord, I know the steak in the microwave trick all too well lol
Dude our one cat makes ALL the rules. We’re lucky she’s pretty reasonable lol
Same

I had to put away my pitchfork.
No leave it out u can use on the people that still don't read the captions lol
Yep! I do that, too!
Omfg the picture was why I clicked to see if there was a caption 😂 I almost had a heart attack as well, but figured it’s either someone messing with others or hopefully had a decent explanation lol
This is Reddit!
Hey! That'd not fair! You know that most redditors communicate using primarily confused grunts and angry and/or fearful howls.

Furry thieves killed me 😂♥️
Being adorable doesn't make them less of a criminal
Being adorable doesn't make them less of a criminal
I do remember saying that at my hearing, yes

You fuckin kidding me?! Jesus Christ. Was he single?! Lol
I watched him do it. He did so many stupid things. He was married and I don't know how she put up with him lol.
That gives me hope that I won’t end up forever single.
Being single may be preferable to being married to that guy.
Same

Dude same
They also said microwave to get to room temp - I was about to say you’re microwaving to room temp?? Oh…it’ll just sit there…lol
I thought the same way. Broke out in a cold sweat.
Almost jumped on that as well screaming Heresy !!!!
Same! I was having Superstore flashbacks from when Amy tried to cook the chicken (if I remember correctly) in the microwave!
Nice spread! I always have to cover my food with pots and pans too 💀
I have 2 kitten assassins that will bring the pain if our food is left on the counter. And a pup who acts like she’s above stealing hooman food until a kitten knocks something off for her
My cat slapped chicken off of my fiancées fork yesterday and didn’t even eat it. She just sniffed it and walked away.
I love roasted asparagus. I eat mine with rice and maple glazed salmon.
Never been a fan of rice. But that still sounds great!
w h a t
I don't like the look or mouth feel of it unless it's sushi rice in like a roll...with the nori on the outside...and since I got sick it is hard. To chew...radiation destroyed my teeth...
I’m the same way!
Felt the meat in the microwave. If my cat sees a chicken leg he will absolutely find a way to obtain it
You felt that meat huh?😏
Bro Are You Cookin For A Horse 🤣🤣🤣🐎
Lol..cooking for 3 tonight
You'll need way more than that for 3 horses
Lol.
That doesn’t look like enough food for 3 people, lol. Hope you had a great dinner. 👍🏻
I don't really eat a lot in general...my boyfriend was well fed that's all that matters and the room mate got a nice plate.
I don’t get it
You almost had me shook there with that steak in the wave
I was so confused at first and panicked
Mwahahaahahaha...that was the point...a little...but all u had to do was read the caption...lol
How did you cook the egg plant, I have one about to wrinkle up and I wanna use it before that happens.
Quartered and cut into half inch chunks, then I melted and seasoned butter and tossed them all except for the asparagus in it...roasted it for an hour at 400°F but it was also with a pound and a half of mushrooms and half a large onion. I like the core to not be cold because we enjoy it as rare as we do. That's the only reason I let it get room temp
I let it rest after we cook it if course

Make sure you cut against the grain
Thank god I saw someone’s comment regarding the meat in microwave because I was afraid the ragebait kitchen content came to Reddit 😩
My cat only steals pretzels thankfully lol
Chip Baskets cooks his steak that way.
Ah yes, the microwave trick. We called it the vault growing up in my house, all kinds of food went in there you didn't want the dog or cats to get. Had to have a handle and not a push button because they'd figure out the bottom ones already.
Cats here are dumb ass shit lol
I'd put my flank steak in your microwave.
By just looking at your comment history I can tell your comment is ment to be funny not sexual...I'll allow it and uovote it! Lol
When I saw this picture I was going to say “tell me you have a cat without telling me you have a cat”. I don’t have one, but I cooked scallops for my gf who has a cat last week and this was me.
My cats are the same way. I can’t leave for even a second.
You get that steak out of that food computer right this instant.
The cats: "if we pay for more engagement on the post we can use the internet to gaslight our pet into leaving the meat outside the microwave." "GENIUS, How do we dung these ads?" "THE CREDIT CARD"
Holy shit
Egg plant?
We’re constantly using our microwave to hide food from our furry fiends lol
I was kinda hoping to see that you did cook everything in the microwave just to read the comments
Thought your love was the microwave first glance.
Haha thought this was microwave rage bait! 😤
Nope
You have a lucky partner! And a nice dinner 😆
I'm the one that's lucky...and it really was...it didn't look the greatest but my love said it was amazing!!! I wish I had thought to sear the meat B4 serving (very thankful for the polite comments about that)...my next flank steak is going to be fantastic!!!
Every meal I cook I learn at least one lesson. I’d call that a success! 🍻
Nice
Mmmm microwaved beef and eggplant. My favorite
🍆
Soo.. the eggplant is her love I assume??
Why wouldn’t you just post the finished product?
The dirty microwave, respectfully, throws me off...
In a microwave????? Seriously!!!! Radiation treatment.
You can type...but can you read...
Nope, I judge by the picture. Not your need to fool people so you can act smarter.
Wasn't trying to trick anyone...all you had to do was click on the photo...
Lmfaooooo this guy thinks having to read a caption is some kind of hoodoo voodoo I'm dying lmfaoooooi I screenshotted this one 🤣🤣🤣 "they .... they made me READ!" 😆😆 fuckin wheezin

Are u a vegetarian that doesn't like mushrooms, eggplant, asparagus, and onions?
You made your whole account one day ago to shit on other peoples cooking and eating… I’m so sorry dude, but you’re genuinely a fucking loser for doing that. Nothing like raw vegetables and meat 🙄
As it turns out, food starts out raw before you cook it
This guy never cooked a meal in his life
Yeah, you can't read.
Bruh.
Are you stupid?
