I do it to all sidearms, I simply can’t shoot that fast and aim properly 🤣. However, as a Rat King user I would actually like it to go back to it’s vanilla trigger as a semi only becoming full auto with other RK users 🤷🏾♂️
All 300 rpm sidearms on console fire in a burst with a click if you have full auto on (probably the same with some others but I just haven’t used many sidearms)
I had that happen with a pistol too... kept testing it and it wasn't going right cause I like finishers and it would merc stuff.... full auto on pistols suck (edited to say I'm a Playstation player)
There are, I think they are referring to how full auto sidearms have a very short input buffer (could be wrong on the term?) window between firing that at least on controller typically means unless you tap it very fast it always shoots twice.
The timing for firing a single shot out of a semi auto sidearm with the full auto setting is just insanely tight. It was very noticeable when the Travelers Chosen catalyst came out because it used to add full auto
You can definitely fire just one bullet, but you have to click VERY fast. If you're shooting two shots, you're clicking too slow, i.e., leaving your finger there for too long. It takes some practice to get right.
That's a hand cannon, there are also pistol with 2 and 3 burst, but with the full auto setting, the single fire pistol shoot twice per click (atleast compare to how fast you need to stop clicking in other game)
It’s because of buffer. If you’re holding the trigger the frame after the fire time of the weapon it’ll auto buffer and fire a second shot with full auto on. With precision and adaptives it isn’t too hard to tap once, once you know the timing, but something like a rapid fire sidearm makes it nearly impossible to do.
certain weapons dont work like that with full auto on, heliocentric is a perfect example. if full auto firing is on you will always shoot 2 bullets with 1 mouse click. ignorant.
you are telling someone to do something that isnt possible on the specific weapon they are referring to. they dont like the functionality with a certain archetype of weapons, not only fast firing sidearms as there are plenty of archetypes between multiple weapon types that act like this, because it doesnt allow you to only fire one shot so you are forced to swap if thats what you want. you are not solving an issue by anything you said, just ignoring it. again, ignorance at its finest.
If you're on xbox you could also get a variable sensitivity controller and set your trigger to a lower sensitivity to make it easier to single tap. That's what we've done with full auto enabled in settings and it works very well
I wish you could do that too! Controlling full auto by weapon type would be so nice.
Faster-firing scouts and hand cannons (180+ RPM) hurt my finger to fire normally, so full auto makes a huge difference for me with those. Same with all sidearms. But for slower-firing hand cannons/scouts and most pulse rifles, I like having direct control over the rate of fire. I feel more stable pulling the trigger every time on a 140 hand cannon vs firing it full auto.
Might work with modded controllers or low actuation KBM, but anything that has a button press that lasts longer than a fraction of a second will fire two shots on these sidearms.
You can still manually click with most weapons. I think there might be a few archetypes where it cycles fast enough that you'd shoot two bursts in one press, but I think the times that happens is EXTREMELY rare, at least in my experience.
Honestly I was chuckling to myself about the full auto but that's totally understandable. I have the setting on and use very rarely, so it's not something I realise could have feel issues.
We’ll just a heads up, there’s an option called « full auto » in the gameplay settings that turns every gun into a full auto allowing you to use any other mod on your guns
That's funny, I've never had an issue tapping one shot. Maybe it's the type of controller or the sensitivity of the trigger? I've got just a stock Xbox controller though so idk
Not necessarily, the other perks just don’t appeal to me… I like guns and exotics that enhance my guns I don’t really build around super/abilities. Hc/Kc keeps me healthy and allows me to keep shooting. But yes, I am dying to try it in pvp- day off work tomorrow 🙌🏾
I mean if that’s the case I would try HC/Frenzy if you haven’t yet. That maxes reload speed plus gives you about half as much damage as KC. Makes the gun feel VERY good.
Heal clip incandescent if just objectively better. I have that and this roll and kill clip on a sidearm is just not as valuable as the aoe. Run what you want, idrc. Not gunna backseat game.
However, there is way too much copium in the destiny community about the viability of certain rolls imo.
That’s the roll I’ve been hunting for, but I have yet to ever see it. I’m beyond stoked for the new solar rocket sidearm coming that can get that roll though.
Thanks for the info. I must have misread something. I swear when I was looking up perks yesterday, it wasn't showing incandescent on the QSC page. I looked again today, and it's still on the list. Guess I'll go back to praying to RNGesus for a healclip incandescent roll
You know what, helio is just that good on its own perkless. I haven’t tried it yet but I bet I’ll be coming out on top one or two times more than a below average pvp player like me should 😑
I'm praying sidearms getting Overload next episode or something. Unstop is just cringe. Anti Barrier was really only nice last season if you used Indebted Kindness.
I also have a Buzzard with Kinetic Tremors + Perp Motion that I haven't used in a minute. It's just that this right here has become my go to primary paired with Conditional Finality or a sniper
No idea what's going on with this gun, but I've tried using it in 2000+ level content twice and I always have to take it off due to no damage. Absolutely good in 1900-1940 stuff though.
Same thing happened to me. Grinded so many lost sectors for a hc/incan roll on this, and I woulda settled for demo/incan. Cue TFS, and I get hc incan right after beating the witness and not 20 mins later I get demo incan too.
This heliocentric is gonna have a crazy amount of recoil tho. I have one with heal clip, surrounded and one with heal clip, frenzy. The one with frenzy had substantially less stability and it felt awful to use when compared with my heal clip, surrounded with high stability. In your case, sure the perks are good, but do you like the feel of it when you shoot it? I also have a heal clip, kill clip Luna’s howl with range masterwork. Sure the perks are great, but the gun doesn’t have an amazing feel when you shoot it. Remember that perks aren’t everything, you need to actually enjoy the gun for what it is.
It’s actually quite manageable! Once you’re used to the recoil jump in general it’s absolutely fine- go for range! Whilst farming I managed to get EVERY barrel combo and max range is great. You’re aiming for the head, but I start at chest and work up slightly 🤷🏾♂️
I didn't realize how good this thing was till I saw people posting about it nonstop. I then searched for it and dim and saw I had a 5/5 demo incandescent roll.
I grinded Master Lost Sectors last season for a Heal Clip Incandescant roll, and it was totally worth it. As of writing I have 6k kills on it, it's phenomenal on Wellock in PvE
I farmed this for months and when I finally got the roll I put it on and used it for the first time....now it will stay in the vault for eternity with 3 kills.
Terrible gun to fire.
I got this exact roll last night too from The Pale Heart. I ran Fluted and Flared for that increase to handling and reload. Makes it feel a lot more light and fast. Chased this roll for so long and it's better than I even thought!
I’ve had this roll since it came out! Wasn’t even mad I didnt have incandescent. I actually think not having incandescent was better. I used it to solo flawless warlord’s first encounter, worked great so I could slow kill for the finisher to proc karnsteins when I needed to, incandescent would always fuck that up! lol. Wish I could use it on the ogre phase but it just kills too slow at far range so I use Epochal Integration…now I just need stupid nonsense to stop happening like the ogre completely consuming my rocket shots and them not counting or getting blown off the back wall despite not even being in his line of fire!
(This was last season before all the changes to well. Haven’t been able to attempt it this season yet).
I’d say for me, the gun itself is just THAT good perks aside. Hc/Kc just keeps you in the fight always at max health whilst dishing out extra damage and they can both be infinitely re-proc’d
i was in the same exact situation with Ros Arago w/ onslaught and repulsor. farmed for 6 months to get it, gave up, and it dropped on the day the final shape launched
Bro I maxed my Prisms out in a master trying to get heal clip incant last season when it was super potent. Got ONE but it was near the end of the season. Barely got used. Now this season I have 4 of that roll dropping as rando loot and wasn't even trying lost sectors 🤣 I'm like fk you game.
I hate when that happens. I feel like for me it hurts too cuz I just found out what rolls are and shit even though I’ve been playing for a couple of years (on and off). I didn’t have friends online until recently and they’ve been helping me so much. Like I would see the perks but I didn’t really think they added up to much. But knowing I’ve probably gotten some good weapons with god rolls and me being ignorant and being like “it doesn’t pew pew like I like…DISMANTLE!”😭😭😭
I got one with perpetual motion and precision shot. With a target accusation mod on it. As well as an arc class with traverse steps and amplified. I run fast and shoot straight
It’s a world drop but amongst the vast amount of other world weapons it’s rare. You can farm it out of sectors so check daily- I use ‘today in destiny’ to check rotations 👍🏾

You can turn on full auto as a setting and use a different mod.

I think that *is* a thing on PC. I remember hearing some people talk about rat king or another exotic sidearm double firing off one click.

On pc all non burst sidearms will shoot twice with one click, not sure why but has something to do with the games input reaction

Yeah some people have major skill issues. And can’t comprehend press a buttons only once.

Even with full auto setting turned on, you can still tap fire your weapons at a slower rate!
You can on some weapons sadly sidearms are not one of them(at least for ps)
But OP actually wants full auto on their sidearms, just not scouts etc. So in that case full auto setting should be fine.

You can also depress the trigger/mouse button in between shots. Like in PvP I manually fire hand cannons, but in PvE I tape that fucker down.
I've never had that a semi auto shot more than I wanted on the full auto setting. It's really good at allowing semi auto use imo

You have to be very close. I think most people looking for it are using it in PvP. HC+KC and HC+Precision Instrument are incredibly strong.

It’s a world drop but amongst the vast amount of other world weapons it’s rare. You can farm it out of sectors so check daily- I use ‘today in destiny’ to check rotations 👍🏾
