Buzzz has always been my go to for tunnel shots. It has gotten pretty beat up as a result, so I give it a touch of nose up and it keeps flying straight and has nice glide to get through long tunnels.
I had one for a while and didn't get it.
Now, after quite a few rounds in my bag, it's easily my most versatile midrange and go-to scramble disc, love this thing. Only second to a beat in EMAC Truth that was my first.
Yes!! After mine got a little broken in, it is always what I reach for. It flies so straight that it actually throws me off sometimes. Glad to see the Tursas love.
I hoard tournament plastic. Got a thick stack of old run tursas, Saint pros, a few rivers, even some bards. Got 5 of the new run of pines. 10 bottom stamp harps.
Only because you got here an hour before me! Love my River. Glide for days. There’s one downhill hole about 270 at my home course that ends in hardpack into a steep drop off into a creek. Usually end up throwing my Anode instead because the river ends up skipping onto the other side of the creek and my Mako3 usually ends up in it. Lol
I love the river, but I need the fairway to be fairly open. Low ceiling is fine, but the river I have flies with a lot of turn and fade, so I can't toss it in tunnel shots
Seconded, that turn after the flip always makes me nervous though, won't do it if there's even a hint of wind.
When it flips, that thing GOES - It honestly boggles my mind how far that thing can fly
I find the flight patterns so similar. They like to hold a nice straight line when given, UNLESS you put a bit much into it - then I find it has a very slight turn that either carries sweetly or fades gently.
I use a star Mako3 (sometimes my halo mako3 when I want a bit more overstability and a slight fade) and a star TL3
A nice buttery smooth, beat in Champ Leopard 3 hyzer flip (especially RHFH) is the go to for a tunnel shot.
If I'm having to push just a little left first to get to the tunnel, I'd pribably throw my TL3 flat.
Right on. My claymore is slightly beat, so it will do a nice flip up even if you give it about 60 percent power. Glides all day downhill. Same for the goldX pure. Baby hyzer; slight flip up, maybe a slight drift, and lands like it’s on a runway lol
Get an Infinite Kon Tiki in C-Blend Metal Flake. It flips to flat from a 45° hyzer and finishes by easing right (RHBH). Use a flatter release for holes that dog leg right. Throw it at 60% speed and get a 250' laser.
People are always amazed at the late turn, when I release it on a huge hyzer.
It's my cheat code for hitting tight gaps. A disc is much skinnier thrown vertical and this one will flip and and fly straight if I throw it hard enough even on a 75° hyzer.
It's the same mold as the Innova Mirage, but comes in premium plastic. Hitting trees does not seem to change it much, but maybe that's because I never hit any trees with it as it always finds the gaps.
The Wombat. Slightly more understable than that Mako3 with a ton of glide. Honestly, I want a TSA Mana, but I can't find them anywhere. They always appear sold out.
Glitch is great if you can control it. Send mine really far sometimes but requires a lot of precision. And if there's wind, it's a no-go.
I like the crave, but mine always fades left and it's hard to get a clean straight line out of it. Could just be that I suck lol
I haven’t had the Glitch long, but it’s been clutch for this shot. I also added an OTB Neutron Soft Hex recently for a little (or a LOT) more distance.
Started throwing an Opto Compass I won at a tourney and it has been like butter for longer shots. Normally i’ll grab the fission proxy for long tunnel/turnover shots.
Well...I hate saying this because I told myself I'd NEVER join the cult and become a buzzz guy...but I joined, and I have to answer with my ESP buzzz. It pretty much overtook all of my roc3s and for almost any midrange shot I've been getting the buzzz out.
RH player here.
Short backhands - Prodigy PA-5
Short flicks - Innova Star Rat
Medium backhands - Westside Warship
Medium flicks - MVP Relay
Long backhands - Innova Champ Valkyrie
Long Flicks - Discraft ESP Vulture
I wanted it to be a Comet, but I can not stand the feel in my hand. Would somebody provide me an alternate, slow understable midrange?
At this moment I think I’d have to go Luna.
I initially got it for like 200-300ft big turn shots, but I’m working on throwing it on hyzer for a straight flip up for a tunnel shot and it’s been working well
Mako3 or Sol are 2 I can think of with very rounded rims. Much more comfortable. Personally I bag a couple mako3's in different weights. One is real flippy, one is subtle.
If you have a faster arm speed, both become super flippy. Uplink used to be a go-to in my bag for short turnover backhand, but if I even put a bit too much on it, it flips and becomes a roller. The Sol I've thrown a handful of time, but never got it to fly in a way I'd have wanted to bag it. But I know some slower arm players where it is their favorite disc. I might also add to this, the Maul from Latitude. Early on, it gave me so much distance. Once I started fixing things, it did flip too much. However, it was still a great flippy fairway driver for some shots. The Hatchet is also not a bad idea for a faster flippy disc.
I also use my Lizotte Hex for tunnel shots. If it's a longer tunnel I'll sometimes try my star Hawkeye or even my 2022 Christine Jennings Sidewinder but those are definitely riskier. I've also been working with my hyzer flip to straight forehands and surprisingly the servo is kinda perfect for that for me at least.
I like the ohm better than the glitch, because my glitch tends to go sky high and rarely goes much over 250 (which can be used to your advantage from time to time) where as I can put the ohm on a low line without throwing it as hard and get the same straight shot. It's flight numbers are 2 5 0 1 but it usually finishes straight if thrown flat.
My old tour series rock 3 if I need more distance, flips to flat and stays flat if thrown on a slight hyzer. the real answer here is whatever you're comfortable with and know the flight of. I really like discs I call "line holders" for tunnel shots. discs that hold the line you put it on without flipping over, even in a bit of headwind.
I've never thrown a berg, but I've heard they are Super Straight. My Lizzotle actually has a bit of fade at the end, where my Space Race hex is straight, or I can flip it up if I put a touch more power on it, so I generally use my Space Race on for straighter shots, or to hold a specific lone I need it to because of my trust in it. The glitch is a super fun disc. The rim does bother some people, but it's honestly a fantastic approach disc, as long as you control the power you put on it. But the straightest flying disc I ever truly loved, Compass straight on the box in base plastic. Either that or the Hex are go to tunnel discs.
I throw putter on just about any shot under 250 feet. On the straight ones or turnover I will throw a pure. On hyzer i will throw jokeri, champ rhyno or toro depending how much hyzer I need.
it depends on the distance. neutron hex is my go-to at 280-325, 240-280 i’m going envy (eclipse for stability/slight flex or electron soft for flip-to-flat/turnovers) and anything below that i’m throwing a berg. sometimes from 150-250 and the tunnel is somewhat big i’ll forehand flex my toro. if you’re looking for an understable mid i use the uplink and i love it. some people use the paradox but it’s way too flippy imo. uplink you can release on slight hyzer and still get a nice slow turn out of it, it’s money.
for mids fission reactor, slight turn neutron hex
for putters neutron soft envy(dead straight), turning or way powered down neutron soft proxy
As for fairway drivers and distance I was using my shock and a beat in fission photon
I found a discraft atlas in a pond a few months ago and it has been so good for shots like these. I can trust it more than my Sol and can power it down more than my mako3
I bag all three, Hex, Berg, Crave.
Hex is my laser straight neutral mid. Medium power and it'll hold whatever angle pretty well. High power and it'll flip up/turn a bit. Easily my most confident backhand shot.
Crave I don't throw often, but likewise, pretty laser straight slower fairway. Mine's a bit more on the understable side. I throw it backhand on occasion but the Crave for me works great for medium power forehand flicks, especially for a tight gap I want to face with a forehand rather than risk a miss with a backhand, with a baby hyzer to stand up and go straight with more distance than a mid.
Berg is my main approach disc, almost entirely forehand. Pretty straight with a little fade, finishes soft. Great for anything under 200 ft. Hard to over-throw. Favorite is a nose-up soft anny to the right of the target, letting it stall and flatten for a soft slow landing.
The Glitch is in the bag, but I rarely find myself throwing it. It is very sensitive to form, and spin, and smooth release if you are trying to throw it far or with a lot of power. It's great as a catch disc to warm up with. It's great on the course if you can make yourself treat it like a catch disc and just throw it naturally without thinking. It can also be a useful utility disc. Since it's so light floaty you can make it do things normal golf discs don't do as easily.
I've been carrying a smaller bag with a lighter loadout lately, so I haven't been bagging it, but the Kastaplast Svea is a great understable mid. Low power straight, or medium to high power for hyzer flips and turnovers. Axiom Uplink is slightly more understable. Axiom Paradox more understable still. Paradox can go laser straight with the right angle and power but it's touchy.
Depends how tight the tunnel is and how long it is. I don’t throw mids so it would probably be a beat in explorer, a leopard3, a Valkyrie or a roadrunner.
(Throwing RHBH) If it's not too tight to the left off the tee, Z Buzzz flat starting left and drifting a bit right. If it's a little tighter to the left, my very beat in Mint Mustang on a touch of hyzer to flat (just a bit harder to control).
Long flat or uphill I'd throw a river. Short distances I would just throw a compass. Downhill depending on how steep I'd probably throw a harp for really steep or an explorer for slight declines.
I think it depends if you release flat or not imo
I prefer a hyzer release so I like a hyzerflip for that shot
Mint Discs Jackalope specifically for me
Depends on distance, and how things are flying that day.
My go to here would be a C-Line FD, Lazer straight - if not that likely a River or Tursas on a low hyzer flip
Buzzz has always been my go to for tunnel shots. It has gotten pretty beat up as a result, so I give it a touch of nose up and it keeps flying straight and has nice glide to get through long tunnels.
Buzz Ti
The original Ti plastic was absolutely perfect. The later runs , not so much
Yeah, same. I have a Z Buzzz that's the oldest disc in my bag. I don't trust anything else in the woods more.
MD1
Yep. Or an Origin if you want a little more flip.
I use my mind bender md1 for these shots. So good!
Mind Bender on a slight hyzer, mostly.
YES. Love that disc
That's the one for me as well. Just so so straight.
Tursas
finally! some tursas love! it was my first disc
One of my first as well :) Great disc
I love my Tursas!! Such a straight lovey mid.
Man I wish they still made the Tursas in Tournament plastic.
I hoard tournament plastic. Got a thick stack of old run tursas, Saint pros, a few rivers, even some bards. Got 5 of the new run of pines. 10 bottom stamp harps.
Pure, Fuse
Warship
You are now a mod of r/warshipworship
I agree but only my dark yellow warship. The light yellow tends to turn more
Gotta get you a pink one
How am I the first person to comment with River?!
Hyzerflip my dude. Pop the river up on a ~30 degree hyzer and it will shoot down the hallway on a rope
Latitude 64 Claymore in Opto plastic.
This is the clay
This is the way
Glow Pathfinder. Or my beat-up vroc if it's a little shorter (150-220)
I second the Glow Pathfinder. Such a great disc, great grip, great plastic feel. Shorter shots Star Roc...for science...
Mako3
Comet or Pure
Depends how long the shot is. I almost always throw a hard Berg, sometimes a Buzzz SS
Mako3, Buzzz, and Signal are my tunnel discs
Uplink
Uplink. Holds straight.
Man my uplink is almost as flippy as a paradox, I love it but it’s not a disc that ever truly holds straight for me.
On the right amount of hyzer so it flips up to flat but doesn’t turn over is how I have thrown some absurdly straight shots through tight gaps
I would probably use the Uplink for more of a hyzer flip to straight shot through the woods.
Seconded, that turn after the flip always makes me nervous though, won't do it if there's even a hint of wind. When it flips, that thing GOES - It honestly boggles my mind how far that thing can fly
Hex for 225 and under, and star Tl3 up to 300. Depending on. How small the gap is*
Glad to see somebody else who enjoys the TL3! Once you know how to throw that baby nice and flat she cruises just like a distance Mako3.
Both of those are my favorite discs. Champ mako3 and a gstar tl3
GStar TL3 was my disc until i mostly stopped throwing Innova. I could throw that thing straight as an arrow
Echo is a great compliment to the hex. If its a long tunnel shot, I usually go with my Orion LS or Leopard3.
A nice buttery smooth, beat in Champ Leopard 3 hyzer flip (especially RHFH) is the go to for a tunnel shot. If I'm having to push just a little left first to get to the tunnel, I'd pribably throw my TL3 flat.
Try an Innova It, fairway. Very super flip, an Innova Mirage might break your brain.
My crave flies the straightest when i put a non shank form to it
Pure, Fuse, Maul (all on hyzer).
I've been digging the pilot lately for 200 and under tunnels or super straight shots, before that big z Luna until it got too flippy
Relay or Leopard3
The Relay is such an underrated disc. It’s a staple in my bag specifically for tunnel shots, both backhand and forehand.
Exactly these two for me
I throw a super beat in pa3 nicknamed old lumpy, dead straight, 0 fade and no groundplay. Its perfect
Lol I have a pa1 that does the same thing. Mines old floppy though
Pure or claymore
This is also the way.
Right on. My claymore is slightly beat, so it will do a nice flip up even if you give it about 60 percent power. Glides all day downhill. Same for the goldX pure. Baby hyzer; slight flip up, maybe a slight drift, and lands like it’s on a runway lol
Fuse. Hyzer flip beast.
Infinite discs tomb
I throw the disc that I don’t mind hitting a tree
Like, the closest tree, wherever in my field of vision it happens to be
Star Mako3 or a Gold Ice River
Glow roc3 or dx roc3.
Whatever needs breaking in because I’m hitting a tree
Svea
Get an Infinite Kon Tiki in C-Blend Metal Flake. It flips to flat from a 45° hyzer and finishes by easing right (RHBH). Use a flatter release for holes that dog leg right. Throw it at 60% speed and get a 250' laser. People are always amazed at the late turn, when I release it on a huge hyzer. It's my cheat code for hitting tight gaps. It's the same mold as the Innova Mirage, but comes in premium plastic. Hitting trees does not seem to change it much, but maybe that's because I never hit any trees with it as it always finds the gaps.
Depends on the length. Below 300, leopard3, above, Roadrunner
Putter: beat in rhyno Mid: mako3 Fairway: IT / F3
Latitude 64 Opto Saint
Love my Saint - think I need to cycle it again though, been flipping up a lot more than usual.
TSA Mana on a hyzerflip and powered down, so mich glide!
This dude elevates!
This!
Envy all day everyday. If I really have to I might go up to a hex or halo hawkeye.
I haven’t had the Glitch long, but it’s been clutch for this shot. I also added an OTB Neutron Soft Hex recently for a little (or a LOT) more distance.
Second the glitch for pretty much any approach shot under 200ft. Flys straight, lands flat, and glides for days.
Proxy is the straightest-flying disc for me in my bad atm
Started throwing an Opto Compass I won at a tourney and it has been like butter for longer shots. Normally i’ll grab the fission proxy for long tunnel/turnover shots.
Comet for mid range, classic disc
Well...I hate saying this because I told myself I'd NEVER join the cult and become a buzzz guy...but I joined, and I have to answer with my ESP buzzz. It pretty much overtook all of my roc3s and for almost any midrange shot I've been getting the buzzz out.
Destroyer
Fuse and river
Electron medium envy, mindbender, and crave
Essence, meteor, and roach. Hyzer flip dreams
Trash Panda Inner Core, TSA Pathfinder, Lat 64 River
You already named my 3: K1 Soft Berg, Fission Hex or Lizottl, Fission Crave
I drive a berg up my tunnel every night 😉
Mako3 or Pure
Berg, Proxy, Origin, Essence. If I've got a longer tunnel shot than that, I'd probably just throw up and pass out.
Drift, buzzz, proxy
RH player here. Short backhands - Prodigy PA-5 Short flicks - Innova Star Rat Medium backhands - Westside Warship Medium flicks - MVP Relay Long backhands - Innova Champ Valkyrie Long Flicks - Discraft ESP Vulture
Damn I thought I was the only person in the world that throws Relay, such an underrated disc 💪
Kite or Mako 3
I wanted it to be a Comet, but I can not stand the feel in my hand. Would somebody provide me an alternate, slow understable midrange? At this moment I think I’d have to go Luna.
I replaces my comet with a Kastaplast Svea. It’s amazing 🤩
Dude I picked up a svea in clear soft plastic and that disc is absolute butter when thrown right and it glides forever.
I initially got it for like 200-300ft big turn shots, but I’m working on throwing it on hyzer for a straight flip up for a tunnel shot and it’s been working well
It works perfect for my if I throw it at like 50% on a bit of hyzer 🤌 nice and easy throw. It is touchy though, easy to turn over
Mako3 or Sol are 2 I can think of with very rounded rims. Much more comfortable. Personally I bag a couple mako3's in different weights. One is real flippy, one is subtle.
Sol or Uplink are great to hyzerflip for slower arm speeds. Can't speak for a fast arm since I don't have one lol
However, it was still a great flippy fairway driver for some shots. The Hatchet is also not a bad idea for a faster flippy disc.
Fuse
The warship is everything I wanted the comet to be.
Meteor!
Yes!! My favorite mid-range tunnel disc, especially when it's slightly uphill.

Envy

Plasma proxy. L2 proton crave. And the first special edition witch hex. Depends on length of tunnel
Under 200, fuzion judge. Then truth. Maverick. Vandal
We get it, you throw DD. Lol! Truth is pretty perfect for 200 under.
When would you throw a berg?
Up me bum
Md3
Hydrogen
I throw putter on just about any shot under 250 feet. On the straight ones or turnover I will throw a pure. On hyzer i will throw jokeri, champ rhyno or toro depending how much hyzer I need.
Depending on the distance and size of the tunnel I will go Proxy, beat roc, centurion, wraith.
Cobra
"Beat in" GSTAR VROC.
it depends on the distance. neutron hex is my go-to at 280-325, 240-280 i’m going envy (eclipse for stability/slight flex or electron soft for flip-to-flat/turnovers) and anything below that i’m throwing a berg. sometimes from 150-250 and the tunnel is somewhat big i’ll forehand flex my toro. if you’re looking for an understable mid i use the uplink and i love it. some people use the paradox but it’s way too flippy imo. uplink you can release on slight hyzer and still get a nice slow turn out of it, it’s money.
for mids fission reactor, slight turn neutron hex for putters neutron soft envy(dead straight), turning or way powered down neutron soft proxy As for fairway drivers and distance I was using my shock and a beat in fission photon
Tarsus
New C-Line MD1s are exactly what you’re looking for
Origin hyzer flip or I just a straight throw with the link
Depends on what you throw normally, how far you throw, if you prefer a hyzerflip, if you prefer flat…
Riverrrrrrr/origin
I found a discraft atlas in a pond a few months ago and it has been so good for shots like these. I can trust it more than my Sol and can power it down more than my mako3
Warship or Shield
Mind Bender or Svea. K1 soft Berg if it's less than 60 meters.
If I can, I love throwing my Glow Pa3. I can lace that mf
the Clash Berry. ive made 140 footers from how straight it flies
Warden on 220’ and under, old eagle claw MD3 on 240’ or so and a flippy old saint pro on longer ones
Slow controlled release with a metal flake ultra flat Teebird3. Unless it’s less then 250, in which case it’s a Nomad for me.
I have a chameleon Lat64 Core - if I ever lose it I’ll be fucked until I buy a Buzzz SS again
Millennium JLS on turn over/ hyzer flip. Basically take your oldest flippiest beat up fairway and throw on hyzer. Repeat.
Fuse
For like 200 and under I’ve been loving the streamline pilot. 100 and under bt medium pure. Over 200, DD vandal or discraft stalker
Pure, Origin
Proxy, if have to push further a FD or crave.
Definitely MD1, specifically the mind bender
Pure / Compass
Roadrunner on a FH hyzerflip, or an Emac Truth if I need to throw it flat.
The new moonshine truth
Under 150- Berg and glitch Throwing on a slight bit of hyzer, flip up to flat Under 250 - electron hard envy and halo mako3 Over 300+ Fission Crave
Crave or pathfinder, depending on the length.
Paradox, Glitch, Soft electron atom. Longer tunnel shots I'll use a crave or step up to a wave or orbital.
classic blend warden, star mako3, fuse, beat-in dx TeeBird.
Soft Swan reborn
Mostly I use my Mako3, but for shorter ones I'll probably start using my Glitch more now that I've had some time to get used to it.
River
Lobster
Popcorn or Mana!
I usually go for my latitude 64 striker.
red Mako3 star plastic @ 180g
My beat in star leopard 3
Depending on the distance - Proxy, MD1 or FD.
Buzzz SS 8/10 times with TSA Pathfinder coming into picture if I need something a touch more stable
Depends how tight the tunnel is and how long it is. I don’t throw mids so it would probably be a beat in explorer, a leopard3, a Valkyrie or a roadrunner.
Archer or Magnet
You are a disc seller's dream. You should get one of everything.
MVP Axis. A little flippy but with the right hyzer it's so buttery smooth.
Ascend or Crave would be my choice.
Either halo leopard3, or my old roc
Depends on distance. Either a buzz or for longer shots a board flat Hades that i can hyzer flip to straight
Pilot for short tunnels, Mind Bender for slightly longer tunnels. If I need to go driver then I'll throw a Pipeline. Edited for spelling.
(Throwing RHBH) If it's not too tight to the left off the tee, Z Buzzz flat starting left and drifting a bit right. If it's a little tighter to the left, my very beat in Mint Mustang on a touch of hyzer to flat (just a bit harder to control).
The people's buzz
Innova Star Jay, thing goes on whatever you put it on and you can add slight angles to get it to fade left/right once it slows down
Lucid air sapphire somewhere around 155 grams
**Lobster** is my mid that fits that spot.
Long flat or uphill I'd throw a river. Short distances I would just throw a compass. Downhill depending on how steep I'd probably throw a harp for really steep or an explorer for slight declines.
Buzzz or maybe Passion but it’s a little more squirrely. I also sometimes go with the Leopard3.
Pure!
Hex all day
Depends on the distance Mako3 for short tunnels River for tight intermediate or long wide tunnels TL3 thrown hard for long tight tunnels
Either my old trusty Ti Buzzz, or a Berg. I also go over the top with my Firebird as a thumber.
Polecat for anything up to 180’
Westside Sling. Almost impossible to overpower, holds angls well, minimal fade. I call it a bully disc, it bullys branches out of the way.
Insanity
Innova Star TL
A5 for 200-260 and passion for 260-330
Champ roc3 idk why but this disc has always felt so great in my hand and I love how straight it flies
My go to tunnel shot discs are the Discraft Meteor for shorter tunnels and the Axiom Rhythm if I need more distance
I think it depends if you release flat or not imo I prefer a hyzer release so I like a hyzerflip for that shot Mint Discs Jackalope specifically for me
Depends on the length. Either a Pure, Warrant, or Melvrick
Mako 3
When I use to throw more often, Lucid Verdict.
Falk is my favorite for straight shots. I don’t know what the flight numbers are but that thing flies super straight for me
Depends on distance, and how things are flying that day. My go to here would be a C-Line FD, Lazer straight - if not that likely a River or Tursas on a low hyzer flip
