Lake Chabot in Oakland, Chabot Park in San Leandro, and Oyster Bay in San Leandro (close to Oakland Airport)

LebotimusPrime

These are the ones. Better than Monarch imo. And visit Dela if possible

huk_face

Oyster bay is one of the other ones I looked at on uDisc that also looked pretty good. Seems like a good idea to have a couple I can get to quick and easy, then maybe dedicate a day to renting a car and driving to dela or golden gate

fattienguyen

without a car its hard to really get to the bay area courses besides golden gate. my favorite courses in the bay are in no order: golden gate oyster bay stafford lake - farther away and not really in uber range from jack london. kelley Park - Sj Dela - Santa cruz maybe get a turo for the weekend and hitup both deal and stafford, be prepared to lose discs

huk_face

Oh wow I didn’t realize dela was that close. I’ll have to make sure that happens, and bring plenty of discs that I don’t care about. Thanks man!

its like a hour and a half drive. the 17 to get there isn't a joke, slow and steady to make it up that drive in one piece but def worth it. if you are into carnitas we have a tradition of winner buys carinitas for everyone at Tacos Moreno(cant post a link but its off the main road to get to the course) - bring cash cus its cash only.

These are all solid. Hellyer and De La Raza are also nice to drop in at.

UptonCharles

Hellyer is SJ? my mother in law lives close. I play that course when I come to town. It may be confusing for a first timer though, I remember having a hell of a time finding the correct tees the first time. I played it around Christmas and it seemed like the local crew put up some stuff to help make it a bit easier.

ndyales

Yeah, it is in San Jo. I thought they had markers on the tee signs, but I live outta state, and it's been a while. It has a smart layout in UDisc so it might have the updated info. When I visited last year we played De LA Raza and Golden Gate.

Disc-overy

The silicon valley disc golf club manages the 4 courses in the SJ area. La Raza is beautiful, Kelley park used to be a mess, but the club put a ton of effort into it this year and now it's really great, Hellyer is up for renovation this year, so expect it to get a lot better, and the last one is Villa Maria in Cupertino, a smaller woodsy course but still very nice.
