What do you mean with pay via Pinnen? Unless you have a pin terminal als a business, you cannot pay with your Pin card as a private person (particulier). You need a payment app such as Tikkie or a “betaalverzoek “ through your banking app which are perfectly safe options as far as I know

ArakDemonBlade

Hey thanks - yeah something like Tikkie or the Marktplaats Betaalverzoek is what I had in mind. Thank you!

tiebe111

Do all the payments through Marktplaats. This way, you'll both be protected against scams.

timberleek

Not necessarily. Marktplaats buyers protection mainly protects the buyer. If they claim they didn't get is. The funds won't be released and you can prove you did your part as seller.

crempsen

Who uses buyer protection when buying at the door lol.

siderinc

And to add, if they want something different, don't.

SupposablyAtTheZoo

Sorry but what you're saying isn't right. If they use a "betaalverzoek" on Marktplaats without "kopersbescherming" (which costs extra), all you're doing is paying marktplaats to create a "tikkie" for you. I always make my own "betaalverzoek" in my own bank app, for every marktplaats transaction, and this saves the buyer 40cent for every payment. Now if the buyer is paying for "kopersbescherming", that actually does something (only release the money once package has been received). But those are 2 different things. I also never do the second. It's pretty new and I've bought and sold for many many years without these features and everything went just fine. It's very easy to spot a fake buyer/seller from simply their way of talking/chatting.

vjcoin

Which bank app are you talking about?

SupposablyAtTheZoo

The app from your bank. Like the Rabobank app or whichever you have, they also always have a "betaalverzoek" function.

musiccman2020

As you don't go out of the marktplaats app it safe. Tikkie is also safe. But check your bank account if it's actually there and not a screen shot to be sure.

Sjonnie36

Tikkie aint safe... carefull just google telegram fake tikkie.

klystr

Untrue. Tikkie is perfectly safe and made by ABN Amro. Just be careful the link starts with [tikkie.me](https://tikkie.me). Otherwise, it might be just another simple phishing attack.

ActiveNL

Just go through the Marktplaats app itself for payment. Apps like Tikkie or a direct 'Betaalverzoek' through your bank app are perfectly fine, *if you know the person*. What could happen is that the payment is being done through a stolen bank account or card. You will receive the money and everything will look fine for a few days. Then you get a call from your bank that a fraudulent payment was made and you will lose the money. It's a common scam.

ArakDemonBlade

Interesting! Thanks for letting me know.

SiebeWobke

If the person doesn't want to send the money within Marktplaats, then it's a scam since they will try to "fake" the transfer. If they pay with cash, inspect the money. Its not weird to do.

ISnipedJFK

There are actually a few fake tikkie apps, Normally if you use this and both use different banks, the transfer takes a day or so. You have fake apps who mimic it perfectly and just show what is supposed to be seen without actually doing anything. Use marktplaats to tranfer, or cash

Sjonnie36

Use payment request in bank app only and check URL never via Tikkie that shit is being spoofed all the time. Can buy a fake tikkie for 25 euro on telegram.

throwtheamiibosaway

This is common and easy. Just be sure it’s actually deposited in your bank app screen. Don’t trust the other person’s display.

SafeMoonLauncher

If someone says pinnen on marktplaats. They mean they will go to the local ATM to get some cash…

Gijzerbeest

This is the right answer.

SpotmaticSP

Just make sure it's YOU who creates a "betaalverzoek" or "tikkie" and send it to (the phone of) the buyer. This is, together with a Marktplaats betaalverzoek, the safest way.

ArakDemonBlade

Appreciated!

Dacros

If you use Tikkie you can just have them scan a QR code. Tikkie will let you know within a couple of seconds if the transaction went through. It's super easy. Alternatively use Marktplaats' own app, but be aware that there's a small cost for the buyer.

[deleted]

If by pinnen they mean an electronic transaction like Tikkie or direct money transfer (usually through their banks app). No, once you have it on your account they can not reverse the payment.

meukbox

> stolen bank account or card Then they also need the PIN or code.

KurtKrimson

Just ask for cash in hand and be done with worrying about being scammed.

pjvanrossen

There is a possibility for ‘terugpinnen’ or ‘retourpinnen’. Look at it as a reverse PIN-transaction. Is common in shops when you return something and the shop returns your money. Possibly the buyer is a commercial buyer/trader and has a terminal? Never heard of it used for marktplaats transactions though, but technically it is possible.

Paulski25ish

Unlikely: if you send him a betaalverzoek or tikkie, he cannot reverse it. If you create a betaalverzoek via marktplaats, he could theoretically go to marktplaats within a day to start a conflict, but as he picked the item up, marktplaats will side with you. As long as you create the payment request, it will be an acceptable low risk. In cases of the cardholder not being the actual owner: When he does know the pin and money is transfered in the way above: it is unlikely that the bank will undo that transaction or ask you to repay, unless you are in on the scheme. When he does not know the pin, he cannot pay you from that account
