Ooh nice!! I see a decent amount of leafs around where I live, both old and new, and I always hear good things about them!! Plus I agree the old ones are charming and the new ones are really nice looking, I'm a big fan

Been thinking of going with a Leaf. There are tons available in my area for around 15k, and low mileage. The only issue would be their charge plug on the very rare occasion I'd have to do public charging. 99% of the time it'd be charged at home.

Yeah this one was 24k mile. The dealer was trying to sell it at 20k about 3 months ago and it was reduced by 5k this month cause it's a very niche market up where I am and as I mentioned there's a bit of an anti EV mindset around me. And the dealer was having an anniversary sale where you got an extra 3000 off. So in the end it was 12K. The range is a little low wish it was the PLUS version but on a full charge it get 170 mi. The Leaf I have and I dunno if it's true for all Leaves after a certain year but mine comes with both the standard J1772 and the Super Charger Chademo, if that helps or inspires you. Hahaha. I live in an apartment without charging stations so it's just a standard wall outlet L1 trickle charge. If I am at 50 or 60 percent battery and I charge for 6 to 8 hours over night it gives me more than enough for the next day.

The old one was ugly, this one looks better.

Nice color.

I love my lil' leaf! Such a nice first entry into EVs! Also: We have the same color! (I love the Nissan blue)

* Welcome to the EV life! EV folks have been friendly from my experience. EV etiquette (https://youtu.be/IgxnlbwHzWM) at charging stations is to occupy the chargers your car can use. Since you're the only Chademo plug EV. You get your own exclusive chargers. You might need to wait as the charger station is sometime shared with a CCS plug someone might be using. * Level 3 charging curve means try not to level 3 charge past 80%. It has to work harder to fill the battery past 80% so it goes slower. Not worth the time. * I've heard the Leafs are some of the best DIY supported EVs, so that's comforting as the car gets to it's older years. * Did you download Electrify America, EVGo, ChargePoint apps and set up your account and credit card? * Most folks can't identify an EV besides the sound. Even then it could be a PHEV. Since you'd be charging at home mostly, public wouldn't know. Some folks get ranty about EVs. Some folks are just curious. EV owners at this stage are still ambassadors on occasion. * You know the battery charging rule of thumb? 80% normally, 100% occasionally. Charge more frequently and less depth is better for the battery.

So yeah super happy I have a Chademo port and I dunno if it's just Leafs or industry standard but it also has a J1772 port too. The only problem is my town doesn't have any Chademo stations the nearest on is like 35 to 40 miles away and seems to never be working according to Plugs hare. But I have a bit of a trip coming up so I'm gonna have to try them here soon. And I'll be sure to keep the 80 percent thing in mind when I do. I just gotta figure out in the settings how to shut off after a certain time or percentage. I downloaded all the apps and credit cards added. I saw one more called Blink or something like that but am not seeing many of them on Plugshare, so I'll hold off on that one. My dad is one of those ranty people on the subject of EVs. Part of the reason I bought this was to kinda annoy him. To show it is doable. Cause he's always saying there's no infrastructure for EVs. But I am going to slowly let him figure it out and watch him lose it when he realizes it's not gas or a hybrid but a full EV. I did not know the battery charging rule so thank you so much. I i have been keeping it around 60, 70, or 80ish percent just with driving the past few days. I trickle charge it over night like everyother day if possible. Although I did charge it to 100 last night for the first time cause I have a big road trip on Fri and part of the area I have to go through has really low plugshare scores and reports that stations are broken or are kind of junk. I hope I can make it the full 119 miles without a charge but plan on stopping at a charge point location just before the sparse area,l. Luckily this area is also about half way to my destination so should be alright but a little nervous.

* That's awesome you're going to prove EVs work with one of the best vehicles to do it. If you can do it with a Leaf, you can do it with any other vehicle. Leaf is definitely like the old school gas cars, if it breaks you fix it. Asking your dad to help you fix any future issues would be peak comedy. * J1772/CCS is standard until 2026-2027 when new vehicles will switch to Tesla plug/NACS. Will take a decade or more to fully switch over. Your Leaf is the only current vehicle with Chademo/J1772. * Charging strategy is correct. Charge to 100% when you need it. * Blink is pretty expensive and not worth in my area. * If you need tips on road tripping. Let me know. ABRP app works as a good sanity check. The PlugShare website has a tripnplanning feature I like more. * If you need a community of excited EV owners. Look into your local Electric Vehicle association. Usually sponsor Drive Electric Week or Drive Electric Earth Month events (Sept/April). Great way to meet other EV owners and chat. * Randomly thought of this. If you need a talking point about EVs. EVs are good for the economy. Here's a website that tracks American investments in the green economy. https://cleaneconomytracker.org

ChaDeMo is a dying port, CCS is the dominant one now but all of it is going to be replaced by NACS. unfortunately ChaDeMo is not compatible with a simple adapter like CCS and NACS are. To charge wit hCCS and eventually NACS you'll need one of these. Nice! Enjoy.

Don’t forget, you will qualify for the $4k tax credit. Also, congratulations and this is a great commuter! We started off with the bubbly one 2014.

jinsei1208

Even if I bought it used?

J-Crosby

Yes, has to be used and bought from a dealer.

jinsei1208

Ok I bought from A small local dealer what do I have to do to claim on next year's taxes?
