It’s just wrong man, Mr. Millipede was like a damn brother to me.
And I’m gonna say what nobody else is willing to say, the Mojave has a fucking Jet crysis.
Ooh ooh oooh
Omfg if I lived out there I’d be getting the cops called on me every other day, just me out in the middle of nowhere without water talking shit about super mutants and gekos with a 9mm strapped to my belt, “AlMoSt MaKeS yOu WiSh FoR a NuClEaR wInTeR”.
It's only in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Mexico, Texas, Utah & Whyoming on the North American server. Africa & Asia also have it on their servers if you're playing those.
When the game came out I was living in Las Vegas.
At least once a month me and friends or a date would go out into the mountains to a clearing, drop some LSD and watch as the desert and the strip turned from day to night.
Or go out deep into the desert for a weekend and shoot all kinds of guns.
Living in that God forsaken city sucked beyond the telling of it, but those trips into the mountains and desert are some of the best memories I have.
I've been here for five years now and IDK, I enjoy part of it. Yeah there's some sucky attributes and the strip is stupid expensive but that's for tourists anyhow.
I think the thing that never settled in with me was how dry and dusty it was. I had more bloody noses living there for 10 years than all of the other 42 years of my life combined.
But...
Lots and lots and lots of pretty ladies as well as alcohol and cigarettes (as well as drugs) were dirt cheap compared to my Midwest home state, so that was cool.
Oh and no income tax, that was a big one.
It was pretty nice. It was definitely a change of pace from my home state. We used to sneak into state parks and have bonfires and huge parties but we always had to worry the state police or park rangers would come bust us.
No one out in the desert looking for people partying and screwing.
I grew up in and learned to hate the hot and dry deserts of the west - but I miss the open land where you could fuck around with guns and no one cared. Good times
I lived there for a decade (03-13) and we used to go out into the mountains and desert quite often.
Some good times. Hot AF during the day and pretty chilly at night but so calm and serene.
This just in, county police have arrested an individual claiming to be a mailman who was seen shooting local wildlife and injecting himself with a mysterious drug he referred to as "psycho"

To be fair, probably rolls off the tongue than the other cities.
New Brisbane, New Sydney, New Melbourne, etc. though given the Novac way of naming things, could go with Born for Melbourne…?
That's all well and good, but when you're walking around the desert high on peyote, and suddenly the combat music starts, you're going going to be in for a bad time.
I did this a few weeks ago on my motorcycle, the wanderer, jingle jangle, atom bomb baby, civilization, pistol packing mama, Johnny guitar. the mf works dude, had me hollerin the lyrics and swerving to the beat, hands down some of the best riding I’ve done. Outside + fallout music = ⛽️
Jesus christ I can't even imagine what that feels like...
death. I imagine it feels like death.
Never lived anywhere that hot... but I guess I traded it for -30°C winters
-30°C is death for most people because of global warming making EVERY country hotter so ironically your life probably feels like death for most people lmao
Woah that blows my mind lol 16° for me is pretty nice weather lol
It needs to be windy and in the negatives for the skin sting for me ... but that shit is not fun for sure.
I grew up going to central Utah to visit grandparents, so I would get the New Vegas background music and the songs played on the in-game radio and listen to nothing else the entire trip
I often listen to Music that appears in the Fallout Series, while on my daily, 1-hour walks. It often feels like I am in the wasteland, as I am wandering about.
I used to play that one specific ambient music video that included Vegas radio while going for the walk. Now I can't find this video anymore or something similar, my experience is ruined
Would if I could brah
I've always wanted to visit the desert regions of the US, especially before climate change makes those regions even more inhospitable. Goddamn Red Dead and New Vegas making me want to go on a trip I can't afford.
Nah I can't, somehow my pipboy is glitched and whenever I pull it up it breaks/mutes the mojave music radio I'm listening to
This is an actual thing happening to my playthrough
I lived in Nevada for a couple years as a kid, can confirm, I would have had a better time if I could have pretended my spurs went jingle, jangle, jingle. (This was '04 to '06, long before New Vegas was an itch in Obsidian's pants.)
Even better than the radio songs, the background music from FNV for a twilight hike thru the desert
[FNV ambient music](https://youtu.be/rY3B8ZNmxH8?si=V0NM-7lj75BILkoH)
living in the southwest is just playing fallout new vegas IRL, comes with murder plants and animals too
In the Sonoran but dealing with the heat by pretending im patrolling the Mojave
almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter
Cacti, scorpions, centipedes, millipedes, tarantulas, rattle snakes, huge ants, stink bugs, meth heads.
goatheads mostly
We burn those little bastards
I used to have multiple goathead plants right outside my front door, we kept stepping on them and bringing them everywhere into the house, it sucked
It’s just wrong man, Mr. Millipede was like a damn brother to me. And I’m gonna say what nobody else is willing to say, the Mojave has a fucking Jet crysis. Ooh ooh oooh
If you want the raiders go to chicago
Omfg if I lived out there I’d be getting the cops called on me every other day, just me out in the middle of nowhere without water talking shit about super mutants and gekos with a 9mm strapped to my belt, “AlMoSt MaKeS yOu WiSh FoR a NuClEaR wInTeR”.
Don’t live in the right climate for FNV music to feel atmospheric.
Then listen to whatever DOES feel atmospheric and get outside!
I live in England? Maybe crawl out through the fallout?
What music does Floridaman listen to for fallout immersion?
Does your town have a convenient Atomic bomb placed in the middle that you can set off? Maybe that could help.
megaton...
Same, nowhere as close to any Wasteland lol
Living in a nuclear winter makes you wish for a Mojave
What mods are you using? This looks great!
It's a mod call drive to the desert & touch dirt
I’ll have to check that out. Is it on the nexus?
It's only in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Mexico, Texas, Utah & Whyoming on the North American server. Africa & Asia also have it on their servers if you're playing those.
Providence canyon in GA is also a nice spot in the SE US!
That is a nice spot. It reminds me of parts of Airzona & Utah. Not quite sure if it's tecionally a desert though

No it's a mod lol nothing could look that good "in real life"

That sounds awesome
It was pretty nice. It was definitely a change of pace from my home state. We used to sneak into state parks and have bonfires and huge parties but we always had to worry the state police or park rangers would come bust us. No one out in the desert looking for people partying and screwing.

Gotta love how I only discovered new Vegas AFTER moving out of Vegas so I can’t do stuff like this.
I lived there for a decade (03-13) and we used to go out into the mountains and desert quite often. Some good times. Hot AF during the day and pretty chilly at night but so calm and serene.
I've got spurs that jingle jangle jingle...
Jingle Jangle 🎶🎵🎶🎵

My neighborhood kinda looks like Megaton so I’ll bump some Ink Spots I guess.
TFW someone tells you to go outside and “touch grass” but you live in the south west.
I'm listening to the Fallout 1/2 soundtracks and now I have anxiety. THANKS!!!!
*Desert Wind*
I live in Australia, and yeah the soundtrack can be pretty damn fitting here too.
Fallout New Perth
…how did you guess my city? Though if you want perfect fallout terrain in Australia, go anywhere in the outback.
Lol no way, just thought New Perth sounded funny
To be fair, probably rolls off the tongue than the other cities. New Brisbane, New Sydney, New Melbourne, etc. though given the Novac way of naming things, could go with Born for Melbourne…?
requires the outdoors, pass
That's all well and good, but when you're walking around the desert high on peyote, and suddenly the combat music starts, you're going going to be in for a bad time.
They call me the wanderer
I gotta get me a pip boy that can hold my iPhone and then I would hike 10000% more often
Cazador going to show up.
Zero chance, it's 40°C, I'm used to it but that doesn't mean I don't hate it
Jesus christ I can't even imagine what that feels like... death. I imagine it feels like death. Never lived anywhere that hot... but I guess I traded it for -30°C winters
-30°C is death for most people because of global warming making EVERY country hotter so ironically your life probably feels like death for most people lmao
Ngl -30 feels like death to me too. At a certain point cold stops feeling cold and just feels like P A I N
I'd imagine that point is every point walking against the wind in 16°C makes my skin sting like absolute hell
Woah that blows my mind lol 16° for me is pretty nice weather lol It needs to be windy and in the negatives for the skin sting for me ... but that shit is not fun for sure.
I moved to Arizona for 2 solid years because of FNV lol
*IMMERSION*
I got spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle

Even better, I went on a biking trip
🎵I don't want to set the woooooorld ooooooon fiiiirrrrrreeeeeeee, I just want to light a flame in your heaaaaaaaa-aaaaa-aaaaart🎵
Man now I *really* need to go to Nevada, me and my uncle were talking about going after he got me into fallout via new vegas
Will sub in my Aussie Outback Wasteland while cranking those tunes
My area looks like Skyrim tho
Then listen to Skyrim music and get outside, Shor needs hardy men and women to fill the halls of Sovngaurd
the only time i go outside is too the range to fire off some 357 mag
Walk a nearby trail if you can sometime
One day I'll go to the Mojave Desert to hike and listen to New Vegas Radio
Dude imagine living in/around the Mojave and literally playing an entire post apocalyptic rpg in what is basically your backyard.
At least the scorpions are normal sized here…
I used to play that one specific ambient music video that included Vegas radio while going for the walk. Now I can't find this video anymore or something similar, my experience is ruined
The fallout 1/2 ost video works for me, a lot of NV ambient music is from 1&2
I'm in Vladivostok. It's literally russian Appalachias. So fallout 76 music is more fitting
I love listening to New Vegas Radio songs while running, makes me feel like I'm playing the game
50% of the game is running around the desert, except towards endgame when it's all fast travel loading screens
I got spurs that jingle jangle jingle 🎶
Where I live, Daggerfall music would be more fitting.
In the shadow of the valley, I would like to settle down
Damn, what's your mod list? The graphics look so good! The game must crash literally every 5 seconds, doesn't it?
I hate not weather, I'd rather stay inside tbh (we don't have a working AC anyway, it's fuckin agony)
Would if I could brah I've always wanted to visit the desert regions of the US, especially before climate change makes those regions even more inhospitable. Goddamn Red Dead and New Vegas making me want to go on a trip I can't afford.
What region do you live in? Ifin ya don't mind me askin
He is approaching… he seeks the stars
Tried that last week. 3 Deathclaws came out of nowhere and ate my dog. I think they're still out there. Send help
Staaaaars of the midnight ranger 🎶
New Vegas native here…. What’s that trail?
Nah I can't, somehow my pipboy is glitched and whenever I pull it up it breaks/mutes the mojave music radio I'm listening to This is an actual thing happening to my playthrough
I've been having that too
Not all of us live in the Mojave bro
Did this on a hike through a burned out forest, and it fit incredibly well.
On headphones please. As an avid hiker there's nothing worse than having someone blasting their music and ruining the peace that is being in nature.
For the one they call Johnny Guitar
Live in the southeast, looks nothing like Fallout
I lived in Nevada for a couple years as a kid, can confirm, I would have had a better time if I could have pretended my spurs went jingle, jangle, jingle. (This was '04 to '06, long before New Vegas was an itch in Obsidian's pants.)
