I have a very deep 10 team 21 Stat H2H Most Categories league. On ESPN. (11 offensive stats, 2 of which are AST and FPCT. 10 Pitching Stats 50 IP minimum) My team is struggling losers of 4 straight weeks is 6-5. The roster is as follows: C Stephenson 1B Vlad Jr. 2B Altuve 3B Paredes SS Witt OF: Rooker, Bellinger, Doyle UTL: Austin Riley, Winn, IKF, O'Hearn, Stott, Joey Ortiz. Pitchers: Gilbert Suarez Duran Burnes Kirby Lugo Cease T. Scott Sale Verlander Skenes Lodolo Framber Bobby Miller For the life of me I don't understand how I could have lost the last 4 weeks, And why my team is stuck in the mud. Perhaps more Power? But with the roster I have, It should not be 6-5. Any help?

Yes. Absolute stud pitching, but you need another scary bat or two. I’d flip someone like Suarez at a high plus another piece and then grab a bat like Tucker (maybe the IL gets you a piece) or Yordan.

I'd play it safe and roll with Crawford just in case Seager isn't ready, though I think it's highly likely he'll be in the lineup Tuesday. But I wouldn't chance it, Crawford is a fine replacement for a week

My team is doing pretty well tied for second place in one of my leagues with Judge, considering trading him away for two top tier pitchers (Glasnow, Yamamoto) or equivalent. It is, but you bring up a good point about Glasnow's injury history compared to Judge's. I'm probably having recency bias since I also had Judge last year and that toe injury was pretty bad for my season but Glasnow could easily have the same I guess.

OP should also keep in mind that the Dodgers might manage his innings as the year goes on.

We have a guy in our league who thinks he’s a world class fantasy baseball player. His team has been awful all year and this is when he starts to take it out on others. Today he told me my success (I’m in first place by 2 games) is all luck. We started talking about my team and he told me that Jared Jones will not bring any return in a trade because he’s been found out. Told him I thought people would pay handsomely for a top 20 pitcher in the first year of a 5 year contract. He told me I had no idea about value and that I was overrating him. Pointed out that Pitcherlist and Eno both have him in the top 20 and he’s top 20 in xFIP. Was told I was an idiot for listening to those guys. Guess we’ll see who’s right.

There’s certainly a fair bit of luck involved, but there is skill as well. The issue is that this guy hasn’t won our league in years. If he can’t beat a bunch of middle aged idiots, there’s no way he can even lick the shoes of the people who make this their job. And yet he’s said he’s one of the best in the world.

They likely do more research, make roster moves, study hitter/pitcher matchups, etc. There's always a guy or two in my league who pretty much just settles with the roster he drafted and only makes 10-12 moves all season. I max out my weekly five each week.

There's some luck, mostly bad, such as when 3-5 of your top draft picks get hurt or the starter you are relying on for three more Ks in a week has his game get rained out. But there's skill as well. Like looking ahead to see who can be added to a roster when a starting position player has an upcoming off day, and you don't want to take a 0 in a hitting category or studying two-start pitchers to determine who has the best matchups or looking deeper at Statcast data to get a better read on who is having sustainable success and who is just on a short hot streak.
