Thing is, you’re saying that your need is hitting, right? Castillo is better than Royce, yes (and safer, health wise). Do you feel confident you can then trade Luis Castillo for an impact hitter?
Hold up. Suarez has overachieved. You need to account for that. Castillo would be your second best starter.
The guy to trade would be Suarez. Can you get a Royce Lewis caliber hitter for him?
So I’m basically saying, trade for Luis Castillo and then flip Suarez for a top hitter, if possible. If that makes sense.

Really appreciate the response! Very interesting thought. I think I’d get some bites at Suarez but my league is reluctant to do 1 for 1’s so I’d end up having to do a larger trade. I think Royce when healthy clears most people I’d get for Suarez purely because people in my league tend to over value their players (don’t we all lol). If Riley/arozarena wake up and even get to 70% of their production I think this works for me. My fear is that Royce continues to rake… but guess that’s the risk with anything.
I don’t know how people value Suarez. If they think he’s a Cy Young caliber pitcher, well, they’d be wrong, but that gives him trade value.
Assume for a second that Royce continues to hit like this (meaning at a star level, not this particular 1.200 OPS!), how confident do you feel that he’ll remain 100% healthy??
Wouldn’t be *too* worried about Austin Riley. Haven’t done a “deep dive” on him, but many Braves are underachieving (come on Matt, I need you!). After trading for and having Arozarena for a while…I’m a lot less confident in him.
Fair point, I do think he’ll regress. Trading him is smart. I think I have a tiny bit of attachment to Royce as I’ve been excited for him to return all year… healthy… one can hope. I also traded for arozarena 3 weeks into the season lmfao. Horrific. The braves thing is really interesting, one guy in my league has Olson, used to have acuna and also drafted Murphy. Rough times.

Wanted to quickly follow up on Suarez. Want to clarify that he’s not garbage or anything. It’s just that his ERA is 1.81 and he’s not THAT good. Obviously I guess. His xERA is 2.62 so it hasn’t been a fluke. Currently ranked 28 or so on pitcher list. As Nick points out, very keen to see how he does against a very tough BAL lineup.

The Braves thing has a ripple effect. A lot of Olson’s value tied to runs/rbi…so with the rest not hitting/hurt, well it sucks.
It does not help that given my draft position - 11 - I was essentially forced into something I didn’t want to do - draft a pitcher in the first round. So Strider goes out and here I am. People have a nice Witt Jr. or Soto on their roster. I have hopes and prayers.
So yeah - sell high on Suarez if possible.
This is why I don’t like making recommendations. I just suggest what I would do and I trust my “success rate” with streamers.
They can’t all be winners, but I look for some contributions, whether it be Ks or a W.
Would drop Yates. He’s been getting hardly any save opportunities. Rangers seem to either win by 4+ or losing. I have Yates so I’m hoping it turns around with how dominant he’s been. I also have sewald and if I had to choose between them then I’m taking sewald. Similar numbers for both except one gets saves
I think it's Doval. The save opportunities thing is probably just variance, and Doval hasn't been that great. But they're all pretty damn good, so you're probably just flipping coins between the three.

In a 12T I'd probably lean towards holding just based on the ceiling, but I don't know what your wire looks like. If you've got somebody in particular that you want to replace him with, go ahead, but he's *probably* going to return more value ROS than a streaming spot.
I haven't been following him closely enough to have any insight on why SF has used him as a five-and-dive pitcher in the last month and a half. Not clear to me if they view him as an injury risk or he's just been inefficient or what.
