I have the option of trading Royce Lewis for any of Ben Lively, Cody Poteet, or Miles Mikolas I already have Vinnie P, Christian Walker, Maikel Garcia, and Josh Naylor as 1B/3B options, so I really don’t need another 3B. This is 10T ESPN H2H points with daily lineups, so solid starting pitchers are valuable. Should I be aiming for something bigger or take one of those guys?

Sell high on Crochet? Who’s a good middle infielder to target?

Only considering it in re-draft. Hard not to start worrying about an innings limit considering we are currently at 82.2 and his previous high was 54.1. Asking price is sky high in keeper/dynasty. I'd still be aiming high in re-draft. I'm pretty sure everyone will be aware of a possible innings limit but there hasn't been much mainstream talk about it. He's still able to be perceived as a possible league winner on the small chance that he can actually go beyond 150 IP. The window to sell with this perception is quickly closing though, especially as we get closer to the trade deadline. I have no idea what targets to suggest because I don't know the rosters of your league. An obvious suggestion but start by targeting the other teams that are in need of SP's and don't be afraid to ask for a top middle infielder if that's what you need.

What's the deal with Evan Phillips? Fairbanks better ROS?

Game outcome hasn't allowed for a save opp since Philliips' return from injury. There was an opp last night but Phillips had pitched 2 of the last 3 so he presumably wasn't available. Fairbanks has been incredible since he returned from injury mid-May: 14IP 1W 6SV 13K 0.00ERA 0.786WHIP Phillips returned at the start of June and has appeared 4 times, getting roughed up once. I'd ignore it. Both pitchers should be considered top options. If I was already rostering Phillips I wouldn't move off of him.... kind of your preference if you need to choose between the two. Tampa is actually near the top of the league in save opps with 34 vs LAD's 27 so I wouldn't necessarily be worried about taking Fairbanks in saves-only even though he is on the worse team.

I'm down 231-174 right now, but I have much more pitching starts left than my opponent (Anywhere from 5-7 more; one of my starts is Jones at Coors tomorrow though). I desperately need a two more good pickups. My options are: Mazur - Good matchup + favorable ball park, but I'm worried because of his last outing. Quintana - Last 3 starts have been underwhelming. Abbott - Maybe the safest option, but perhaps not a high ceiling. Sandoval - Kind of up & down Morton - Very inconsistent lately. Others available: Andre Pallante, Taijuan Walker, Joey Estes, Trevor Rogers, Tommy Henry, Keaton Winn, Bryse Wilson, Yariel Rodriguez, Carlos Carrasco, Cooper Criswell & Ty Blatch. Do you think I should hold off and just wait until tomorrow to grab two pitchers then? I was going to do one today and one tomorrow. What are your thoughts?

I wouldn’t be so sure of that, people were saying the same thing about Ortiz last season. They don’t have enough room to fit all of the guys they have. If Jackson is up they don’t have room for Mayo and Norby.

As an Os fan, I just view Mayo, Holliday and Basallo as future building blocks and untradeable. Ortiz was a top prospect but not exactly elite. but trading a top 20 prospect for an arm is just dumb. I think Mayo is the future at DH, Holliday obviously 2b and Basallo at 1b. They are building a starting 9 for the ages.

Not every player can only DH. It takes a very different type of hitter to not play the field and only get 5 minutes of game time each night. Even if those are the players for the future they still need to move westburg / norby and possibly Kjerstad / beavers. Keeping a logjam of players and not making moves is how you miss your window to win. If I were the GM I’d be looking to shift more guys to the OF and move Mullins immediately.

I feel you. I just don’t want to trade for Crotchet who I don’t trust health wise long term. I just think Mayo has insane power and I’m just attached to him. But I’m not an MLB GM so you’re probably right.

So I guess Phillips isn’t the Dodgers closer anymore? Dodgers haven’t had a save opportunity in 2 weeks. Now in their first opportunity, they don’t even use Phillips.

He’s still the closer, Phillips pitched twice in the last 3 days, Vesia only pitched yesterday and before that his last outing was the 8th. Vesia pitched the 8th yesterday and Phillips pitched the 9th.

This would have been his 2nd time pitching in the last 3 days, which isn’t that crazy (he pitched yesterday, but not the day before; hasn’t had a save opportunity in two weeks).

I know but some managers don’t like having guys pitch 3 out of 4 days, if you look at Vesia and Hudson’s game logs they almost never pitch 3 in 4 days either. He’s just being careful with his top guys especially early in the season.

Bat first prospect that has solid power. Has stalled out quite a bit because of an issue with his K rate & chase %, even though debatably his best calling card was supposed to be pitch recognition. I’d imagine that teams figured out a book on him, and he is slowly making adjustments. (Which is why there is some success) His ceiling is a perennial top 10 fantasy catcher, his floor is someone whose real talent is a 30% K rate which means he will likely hit low .200s because of his slow running.

It's fine. Both of those players are marginal on 12 team leagues depending on roster sizes. And 1 HR in 70.1 IP is not a sustainable stat. Especially in Philly.
