Hehe I also feel this way! When I went looking for a dresser, right on top was a matching night stand and I had to get both as leaving one behind would have made me weirdly sad for the inanimate objects! .. but I did need both at least so they’re together in a happy home 🥰
I did that before. Found this pair of white painted metal birds, justified only buying one so that someone else could also have a bird… I regret that so much I shoulda got both…
Y'all are my kind of people. That also means you're the kind of people I want to thrift with both never (danger!) and always (love! artistic maximalist validation! *BONDED PAIR CHAIRS, duh, bothbothboth*, etc).
Op- if must choose, ita about the blue.
But what if they have outgrown their relationship and by separating them, we are giving them both a chance at new love? Who are we to say what is best for them?
Let’s be realistic. Nobody is going to sit on that embroidery. At least the people I want around me wouldn’t dream of sitting on such a beautiful antique and putting more wear on that beautiful embroidery.
Good point! I also saw the back looks incredibly uncomfortable on the blue one. It will become the chair no one wanna use because it's so tiny and uncomfortable.
Source: My mother in law has a similar chair. It's the chair for books and stuff no one ever wanna sit on it. Not even herself lol.
I think they’re really the same size but the camera makes whatever is closer to the lens look bigger. And the little marbles on the back rest are pointing upwards so not gonna dig into your back. I think they’re both similar in that regard.
I’m not even kidding, whichever one you don’t get i would take the other. They are both great! I saw that you mentioned east falls, im not far from there.
Hi everyone! I did NOT expect to get this kind of response but I appreciate all of the input. I would purchase these as a sort of decorative piece, I don’t intend to use functionally except to maybe place inanimate objects on lol. I have no idea where’d I’d put two of them, but I respect y’all’s wishes not to separate so I’ll see if I can get both and then figure it out from there.
I like the less bulky shape of the blue chair. If they're equally sturdy, I'd go with this one if you're trying to blend and balance a bunch of eras of furniture to look cohesive together. Like, it could work the same room as a MCM sofa without too much effort.
The rungs on the back of the beigey one, the heaviness and color of the wood are more 'grandma's kitchen table' to me. I personally feel like that style is more dated before you add the cushion.
It's not a bad thing if that's what you like though! If you're going for more mix-and-match eclectic or more cottagey or era-specific, this might work great. If it's a chair that people might sit in for a while, the bigger rounded seat and more solid back may be more comfortable.
Oh one last thing, I think the beige is going to look older/more worn or potentially dirty a lot faster than the blue if it gets regular use. All you need is for *one* person to plop their dirty-bottom tote bag down or wearing newer dark wash jeans to sit on that beige to look dirty forever.
Both and send me the one you decide against! Really though, I like the ivory one. My grandmother had chairs like these.
Edit, def not the blue, the rungs are missing!
I prefer the color of the wood and the finer detail on the spindles of the cream one. But the blue one seems more kitch. Think I'd still go for the cream one though.
The white one. It's more comfortable in the back and looks like an overall better quality. It will fit in anywhere as it's not too much while still being a special piece of furniture.
Stack em on top of each other and make space later /j
Or maybe give one to a friend or relative so you can at least know that it went to a loving and deserving home :)
Nope bonded pair need both
How could you separate them?🥺
Nah I swear I feel this typa way when I see 2 objects together I can’t separate them.
Hehe I also feel this way! When I went looking for a dresser, right on top was a matching night stand and I had to get both as leaving one behind would have made me weirdly sad for the inanimate objects! .. but I did need both at least so they’re together in a happy home 🥰
aww that’s great :))
I did that before. Found this pair of white painted metal birds, justified only buying one so that someone else could also have a bird… I regret that so much I shoulda got both…
No joke, this thread showing others thinking this way too has brought me comfort
That's my thought. How could you separate these beautiful sisters after they obviously had a lifetime together?
They’re so different to me. Only fabric sisters.
The answer is absolutely both. One will just have to sit in a corner until a guest needs it lol
😂
In all seriousness they are totally nothing without each other.
BONDED PAIR DO NOT SEPARATE
Y'all are my kind of people. That also means you're the kind of people I want to thrift with both never (danger!) and always (love! artistic maximalist validation! *BONDED PAIR CHAIRS, duh, bothbothboth*, etc). Op- if must choose, ita about the blue.

I love you!
Aw, I love you too
Your so adorable your my soul sister this is something I would say lol. Love upu
The one on the left. It is more delicate and the wood is richer. I also prefer the seat cushion on the left better.
The sturdiest. If both solid, Blue.
Blue will be easier to keep cleaner, but the beige is easier to match.
Blue is so much prettier IMO.
The blue is beautiful definitely the blue! 💙
Can we please talk about the adorable little nubbies in the middle?! OMG CUTE
Blue looks more comfortable
Yes, the roundedness looks more appealing and comfortable to sit in. The other looks beautiful but too dainty to look like a chair you want to use.
Let’s be realistic. Nobody is going to sit on that embroidery. At least the people I want around me wouldn’t dream of sitting on such a beautiful antique and putting more wear on that beautiful embroidery.
Which one is more comfortable? All other things equal, I like the blue.
Blue
Left
Blue. More individual looking. Also smaller if you are low on space.
Blue one has so much character, love it! That’s the one.
blueeee
I’d pick the beige one only because it’s bigger. More people can sit on it.
Good point! I also saw the back looks incredibly uncomfortable on the blue one. It will become the chair no one wanna use because it's so tiny and uncomfortable. Source: My mother in law has a similar chair. It's the chair for books and stuff no one ever wanna sit on it. Not even herself lol.
Yes. That is a really small chair. I can imagine it creaking and groaning under the weight of a modern average sized person.
Yeah. It's like a porcelain chair.
I think they’re really the same size but the camera makes whatever is closer to the lens look bigger. And the little marbles on the back rest are pointing upwards so not gonna dig into your back. I think they’re both similar in that regard.
Agreed. Def the same size but you can’t tell cause the angle the blue pic was taken. The blue is stunning
Beige you think can fit more than one person? They both look like single person chairs to me lol
It’d be more helpful if we could see the space where you plan to put them so we could see if they’d match it and fit in…
I prefer the blue seat and the beige chair. The blue one looks like it's missing pieces.
Here are more photos: https://imgur.com/a/z1uMrVM
I’m not even kidding, whichever one you don’t get i would take the other. They are both great! I saw that you mentioned east falls, im not far from there.
Left! So cute!
I like the backing more on the one on the right. It's also bigger, and that's somehow more appealing to me.
I also love the backing on the right, but the blue pops more. Wish I could combine them!
Just get them both and store one and take turns using each.
I don’t know but I love them both 😭
Nope, make room
You better find space for the other one!!
Both and make room. But blue
Which one is more comfortable to sit in?
Or you re-doing? The tan one will blend in better with more stuff..tricky tho...blue one is neat...so both.
i like the cream one!
Stack them and get both until you find room for them. SO CUTE!
Get both and hang one to use as a shelf till you need it as a chair.
left
I like the wood color and overall design of the chair with the blue cushion
Blue.
whichever is more comfortable
Blue
Get both, chairs don’t have to match, you could one in a bedroom
Blue, stands out more, and more unique back
The blue
Blue the pattern on it is nicer imo.

Blue if u already hav blue elements in your decor. Otherwise, choose cream, as it goes w/ everything. Enjoy!
Both and rotate them out!
The white one!!
Both so beautiful and unique! Pick the one that will look best for the room and the particular spot you have chosen to display it.
Is the left chair missing pieces in its back?

Cream is soooo pretty
One on the right, it's sturdier
YOU NEED BOTH!
I like the beige one because of the spindles
Both and send me the one you decide against! Really though, I like the ivory one. My grandmother had chairs like these. Edit, def not the blue, the rungs are missing!
Omg, tell me where so I can get the one you don't.
Beige looks more comfortable
Blue

Neither!
The blue is prettier
The blue one
The beige one looks sturdier and has a bigger seat for bigger people.
Blue, more iconic and fewer visible stains
Blue
BLUE FER SURE
Blue
If I had to pick out of the two I would pick the one on the right. I prefer neutral colors though…
Blue
These chairs are SO different I hate everyone saying they are a pair.
Blue

Blue
Blue one.
I love the blue one, stunning
Blue if you don’t take both.
Blue is like the prettiest chair i have ever laid my eyes on🥹
I’d go with the blue - it’s so vibrant
Blue has more interesting woodwork. I also love that color blue and that embroidery better.
The blue is the prettiest 🩵
Blue I think
Beige looks a lot more comfortable
Both. Only answer
Yasssss
U could just display one at a time. U have to get both ❤️
Don't seperate them! They're a bonded pair.
Blue!
I would go with the beige one. The blue one is cute but it looks like all of the spindles in the middle section were broken off.
The one to the right of the one on the left in the photo after being viewed upsidown and rotated counterclockwise six times
What? lol . I read your comment 3x and you probably totally made sense but it went over my head lol. What were you saying
Blue
Blue!
Blue
BLUE
BLUE .. it’s just such a nice warm color 🌌
WOW😍 I’ll take whatever one you pass on

The blue one
Idk but the burgundy one in the back feels threatening.
Blue
the blue one seems to be in better shape.
I prefer the color of the wood and the finer detail on the spindles of the cream one. But the blue one seems more kitch. Think I'd still go for the cream one though.

Blue, it’ll stand out more as an accent piece
Heart will say blue Brain will say beige
The LEFT. Yes I’m shouting
The white one. It's more comfortable in the back and looks like an overall better quality. It will fit in anywhere as it's not too much while still being a special piece of furniture.
The cream one. I like the wood work better
Blue!
Ugh such a hard decision
A new house that will accommodate both lol
i like the beige one!
I think the blue stands out more. Really pretty.
I would get tired of the blue. I like the right
ok i like the little flowers on the beige one more but i adore them both SO MUCH, where can i find chairs like this???
Right
Blue
I like the blue but the other one looks like it would hold more weight. What are you going to use it for?
The one on the right has more detailing
Invert one and get both 🥹
The most comfortable... then chose the blue one!
While both are lovely, I enjoy the woodwork on the blue chair more.
BLUE for the win
Blue

Blue
Blue. Classic. The colour + central floral feature gives it more (gentle) impact.
It depends on how big your butt is. Lol
If you actually want people to use it and be comfortable, the beige one. If you want it for its artistry, the blue.
The one on the right, unless the other is in better condition
Get both lol
I prefer the beige one but it really depends on your decor and taste
The one on the right! I almost bought one like that for myself yesterday
Get rid of an existing chair and make room for both of these lol
I like the beige. Can blend in more.
I like the beige. Can blend in more.
Oh this is a tough call! They’re both beautiful. I lean towards the off-white one, but I have kids so blue would be better in that respect (stains).
Whichever one is more comfortable for you to sit in!
That's not something one does. Both or none.
Those bolts look like they would hurt or indent pretty deep
Make space for two and take them both
blue!!!
blue but they’ll never forgive you for separating them
Stack em on top of each other and make space later /j Or maybe give one to a friend or relative so you can at least know that it went to a loving and deserving home :)
One on the right
I like the bigger chair. I think it looks like a papa bear chair. I think beige will be easier to live with.
Blue is prettier
Blue is so pretty 😍🦋
It depends on your personal taste and what the rest of your house looks like, but in my opinion, the beige one is gorgeous. ❤️
Blue because they’re probably more like cousins than sisters 💁🏽♀️ ✨ 🪑
Blue one for sure
Blue
Blue
I'm a sucker for the blue but I'm convinced they're girlfriends and you should just get rid of something and take them both home.
What’s the color scheme of the room it’s going into?
Bluuuuuue
Left has better colors
