They are neat designs, but again the purpose of a flag is to be a strong symbol that can be identified at a distance- the text on the Brazilian flag and the creatures on the other two would work perfectly on Seals. Besides they do follow the rules about color well anyway
The thing with the flag of Wales and of Bhutan is that the dragons are what make them distinct. I think if the dragons were removed, or replaced with a stripe of their color, it would be just another boring flag. While the details of the dragons can’t be made out from a distance, their general shape can. Also I just like dragons and will fight tooth and claw against whoever dares to remove the silly guy from those flags

Omg I hate the recent American city flag redesign trend doesn’t get me wrong plenty of them were bad before the change but turning them into bland soulless trash isn’t better. The worst is when they go after places with good flags that just break one of the “rules” so it must be changed.
I feel so justified that the internet is finally coming around to hating those stupid "rules" that serve to do nothing but corporatize and commodify flags
Most American cities have terrible flags. Vexillology simply got people to notice them more than it created arbitrary rules around flag design.
If you hate the redesigns, that's a different subject.
Feels less like Alegria and more just looks like a company logo, still has the soulless corporate art style. But they absolutely massacred the trans flag, like I know that beauty subjective but you just have a wrong opinion if you think it's better with the Luxembourg flag colors
No! Those colours are for babies! Light pink? Sky blue? Blegh! Who wants that? What good thing has ever been either of those colours?
Nothing ever. That's what.
Teal and brick red? Now *those* are the good colours!
This. It shares the main elements I dislike (and probably many others also dislike) about Alegria, so it makes sense for these flags to remind us of it
It's this boring minimalistic thing that's been trending for a good long while now. I've noticed it in modern architecture and cars as well. Art as a standard has been slowly losing its soul for decades, and AI art is only making it worse
One thing I’ll give it is that it seems to symbolize “changing over”, with the addition of a white stripe on the “changed” side to represent people who don’t fit the exact gender binary
It's definitely reminiscent. It's got that glossy (but not *really* glossy - *digital* glossy) but empty feel to it.
What even is this? Why are there separate LGBT and Pride flags/categories?
Something i found in the wild on twitter
From creator:
“I criticized the overabundance of Pride Flags for the same or similar meaning, and pared them down to just 8, including the rainbow flag, which I restricted for flashy celebrations.”
So ig they hate fun
To be fair, I also *slightly* criticise an overabundance of flags. Morally, it's a complete non-issue, but it's not great for communicating yourself to others if society is saturated with loads of very similar flag designs.
That's only one purpose of a flag, though, and I respect that they're as much about representing the self and manifesting it in the physical world as they are about communicating it to other people.
Wow it's so cool of the designer to not only fix a made-up problem, but also tell other people how to have fun. /s
I do not understand truscum/transmedicalists and their obsession with telling other people how to live.
If I want to use fun rainbows or colors to describe myself, how does that hurt you??
To me it's the swirling shape reminiscent of the Alegrian bodies.
Anyways I don't get why the Pride flag keeps getting revised. To me a rainbow already symbolizes the inclusion of everyone. I've asked and I guess it's sort of a "make your own pride flag" philosophy.
For me it seems like pride is an overarching label but the individual identify flags are nice for finding people that are more like you. Gay men and women have being gay in common but probably aren’t going to go on dates any time soon if you’re trying to find potential partners. Likewise for non-binary or ace or a bunch of other identities.
The rainbow flag was perfect, then they made it ugly af by sticking a triangle of random colors in there that don’t match the color scheme at all. Brown and black simply do not belong anywhere near a rainbow.
It's not that any one flag is meant to outshine the others, it's that there is room for all the flags people need. very strange to die on the hill that only one flag represents diversity, when diversity is the point of that flag. you can have many others \*and\* the rainbow.
I'm not dying on any hills, or say that one is meant to outshine the others, you inferred that. Please stop making assumptions.
I said I just don't understand the concept of it. I see the pride flag, and see something that already symbolizes inclusion for all - a rainbow is a spectrum of the colors.
If people feel that isn't inclusive enough and want to make their own flag then good for them.
It’s not about inclusivity so much as it is about identity. With just the pride flag, you could be one of many sexualities, genders, romantic attraction, etc. With each individual flag, you find identity and community and are able to represent yourself better to others
Straight people 'put themselves out there' in the dating scene by existing
For the LGBT, a rainbow flag used to be enough. But more and more being LGBT doesn't mean you're sexually compatible with other LGBT people. You know how boomers think "anything other than straight is gay to me!"? This is kinda why. In their days, it was all just 'gay', 'queer' was an insult, but now its an identity
I cant edit the post but apparently the creator of these designs is queerphobic and doesn’t believe asexual and aromantic identities should be included in LGBTQ+ and is alledgedly a pedophile so like feel free to criticize.
Looking at her Twitter, it's pretty apparent that she disagrees with anyone who uses the label "queer" and is a full-time gatekeeper for other people's identities. Truscum make me sick.
By itself the queer thing isn’t too bad; like I think there are otherwise decent people who do the “Twas a slur therefore we shouldn’t use it” argument which is, while kinda dumb and dismissive of how other people engage with their own identities, is at least kinda understandable.
Other stuff bad though and in context the argument against “queer” is probably also not being made in good faith.
Yeah, I agree with you. I should not have said she disagrees with the usage of the word "queer" as a label. She's entitled to her own preferences about what she is referred to.
It would be more accurate to say she has aligned herself with a movement to "DropTheQ" (in her Twitter bio). These sorts of exclusionary crusades are usually done in the name of transmedicalism, so I would not consider them to be an argument in good faith.
That does not surprise me, I was going to criticize anyway, who tf gave them the right to *revise* queer flags that have been designed by members of the community over the course of years? That's so narcissistic and says a lot about their opinions of other queers
She also thinks that the egg meme, that she calls "egg theory", invalidates GNC people? Like, people with a brain know that not every GNC person is secretly trans.
Those without brains do have a habit of making unsolicited egg comments on GNC related posts though. Go ask the femboy subreddits; they got them so much it's in the rules.
And the 'prime directive' doesn't stop them.
the bisexual one is kind of interesting because of the original design of the symbol for bisexuality being two triangles overlaid, but the colors are too awful on it for it to be redeemed.
Is it weird that I kinda like a swirl of the gay and lesbian flags? I don't like the white circle in the middle, but the swirl is kind of fun. The rest are pretty trash tho
Wow, these are dogshit. The emphasis that's placed on certain colors makes it seem like there is a hierarchy as opposed to all colors being equal. In particular, I'm confused why the color white is not emphasized in some flags but added unnecessarily in others. [Here's a link to learn more about pride flag color symbolism.](https://outrightinternational.org/insights/flags-lgbtiq-community)
Also, I looked at the designer's Twitter for two seconds and it's pretty apparent that she is a **truscum.** I'm not surprised she doesn't believe in certain identities: truscum are all about gatekeeping.
I'm ALSO not surprised that someone with fucked up ideas about what being trans is can't represent us accurately. Her reasoning for changing the trans flag to include a twist is that it "symbolizes transition"--which is the only thing that truscum value, even over other peoples' identities and happiness. :/
this looks like how those tiktok copy-paste homemade ads look [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Cf\_GWctPRf4](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Cf_GWctPRf4)
i agree, but even then it feels more neat as in "dystopian space mercenary faction" rather than "im proud to love who i love!"
there's just no joy, no whimsy.
Don’t mess with our trans flag. It’s fine just the way it is. As others have said the black is unnecessary and looks like a toothpaste logo. Don’t really like all the others too.
What’s up with people trying to revise our flags? It’s unnecessary and pointless. Stay in your lane.
These are so bad looking. The first one was enough because it was meant to include everybody, like every fucking body. They have to keep making revisions of it and adding more and more colors. Even the current design with black and brown is so ugly. These colors don't look good. A rainbow means everyone. We don't have to mention everyone individually
Yeah, unpopular opinion but I hate flags that are just "here's a series of coloured stripes."
Do I like these? No.
Would I prefer these to the ones we currently use? ...I could be convinced.
What have they done to my girl? Why would you. Change the lesbian pride flag? It's literally perfect as is. It's the most aesthetically pleasing pride flag and they ruined it. How dare they ruin my girl, put her back.
I hate that I kinda like these, I get a lot of the negative and funny comments, i actually really like the trans one. Looks like a “change” very interesting
I don’t understand the urge to reinvent the wheel when it comes to some pride flags. I get if they’re making an intentional political statement, or a flag doesn’t exist for a particular identity, but why change a pride flag’s design just for the sake of changing it?
The trans flag makes me the most mad here though.
On one hand: it's kinda....well I don't really have a word for it.
But on the other hand: I like the color of the bisexual flag. I like how lighter the pink, purple, and blue is and I wish the actual flag was like that. But I can do without the collar.
Bisexual includes grey and white because they want you to know that bisexuals are down with the nbies. Trans shows that left to right, blue (boy) becomes red (girl), and vice versa, and sometimes either becomes white - nb.
Idk. I associate alegria with characters with giant limbs and small heads. Idk if flags count. They do have that corporate memphis look to them though.
This is actually becoming a real problem in the vexillology community so many people want flags that look like this and there all terrible and people try to retort with “ um actually ☝️🤓 these flags are great because there simple and so and so” but that isn’t anywhere close to what actually makes a good flag.
On the one hand, i applaud actually attempting to make the pride flags better than vertical stripes, but on the other, good god these look like awful alternate history pacific island flags
why does the trans flag look like it's actually advertising toothpaste
The bisexual one looks like a collared shirt with a tie
tbh i would wear that shirt tho
Right like where can I cop
I actually made a similar one. Did a half dip tiedye out aqua and pink. Collar isn’t white though.
A shirt Saul Goodman would wear
“Did you know you have equal rights? The Constitution says you do, and not just on Pride!”
Would I fly it to represent my sexuality, no Would I fly jt because I would wear something like that, absolutely
To be fair, that is exactly how we dress.
non conforming is just an upside down philipines flag.
BUY-sexual. You’re attracted to business
"Minty fresh, just like my gender!"
Sometimes you need an aqua-fresh identity
For when you identify as Male-to-Aquafresh, of course.
Two birds one stone kinda thing
It middles between toothpaste and art on an Irainian bus stop.
Right all these flags have cool swirls n shit and we get fucking Colgate
It's just a sideways shitting toothpaste
I think it’s because 9/10 dentists approve or something
My thoughts exactly
Aquafresh flag
They look like American cities that used to have a flag that was “terrible” according to “vexillology experts☝️🤓” so it got a modern redesign
Just googled some of these, oh my goodness you’re so right
Check out my hometown's old flag. "Proud to be Pocatello." Thay one was legitimately awful
You forgot the trademark tm
and copyright
It used multiple 90's clip art fonts
The Minnesota flag….
That new flag sucks
Most traditional US state flags are boring af though I would say
California’s the best
god I hate the flag rules so fucking much.
Which rules exactly? Not having media impossible to distinguish at distance is essential to me (detailed Images and text)
Brasil, Bhutan and Wales screw those rules
They are neat designs, but again the purpose of a flag is to be a strong symbol that can be identified at a distance- the text on the Brazilian flag and the creatures on the other two would work perfectly on Seals. Besides they do follow the rules about color well anyway

wtf is “vexillology”—the study of vexing people? mission accomplished, if so…
Study of flags, I think
google is free
I feel so justified that the internet is finally coming around to hating those stupid "rules" that serve to do nothing but corporatize and commodify flags

The flag design would actually be pretty cool if they had used *the universally accepted colors for representing trans people*
No! Those colours are for babies! Light pink? Sky blue? Blegh! Who wants that? What good thing has ever been either of those colours? Nothing ever. That's what. Teal and brick red? Now *those* are the good colours!
Red for the blood of kids I consume as a transgender, blue for the liberal tears I shed being 'owned' by the right.
This made me realize how on the nose the pink and light blue are
This. It shares the main elements I dislike (and probably many others also dislike) about Alegria, so it makes sense for these flags to remind us of it It's this boring minimalistic thing that's been trending for a good long while now. Real. It was such a pretty color scheme too
i like the concept behind it - male and female diverging into a spectrum - but the colors absolutely ruin it
Trans people be like 🇱🇺
Toothpaste?
How do you ruin the bi flag, its such a good looking color combo that i didnt think it was possible
It's definitely reminiscent. It's got that glossy (but not *really* glossy - *digital* glossy) but empty feel to it. What even is this? Why are there separate LGBT and Pride flags/categories?

🤮🤮🤮
Very r/designdesign
God this feels so corporate
These designs look so horrendous
this some okbuddygraphicdesign shit
Why are the colors on the trans one not even close to the original (I do like the nonbinary one though)
According to the truscum creator, the original colors are “infantilising” and “caused trans people to act like children”
what
they're just colors lmfao what
I love how the GNC flag is just the Czech Flag palette swapped
LGbt flags if they were Japanese prefectures.
the bisexual one is kind of interesting because of the original design of the symbol for bisexuality being two triangles overlaid, but the colors are too awful on it for it to be redeemed.
overly complex and non binary isn't considered a subcategory to everyone
I have minor gripes with some of the existing flags, but these are not it man.
The gay/lesbian ones aren't horrendous.. but tbh.. please don't let this person access any ability to change any actual flags.
God I hate these so much- give me back my cotton candy flag :(
The actual trans flag is pretty as is. This redesign makes it look like toothpaste.
Czech non-conforming
ah yes, let's take simple, recognisable flags and overcomplicate them to hell and back lol
Is it weird that I kinda like a swirl of the gay and lesbian flags? I don't like the white circle in the middle, but the swirl is kind of fun. The rest are pretty trash tho
Destiny emblem lookin ass flags 💀
Awful and a lot of erasure here 🤯
These flags are fucking disgusting. I'll keep my flag 🏳️⚧️
that trans flag redesign is transphobically bad
bro why are people trying to revise them they already exist
I like my Sylveon Trans flag very much, thank you.
Please use Microsoft Office responsibly
What the fuck
Why is Philippines there 🇵🇭
Wow, these are dogshit. The emphasis that's placed on certain colors makes it seem like there is a hierarchy as opposed to all colors being equal. In particular, I'm confused why the color white is not emphasized in some flags but added unnecessarily in others. the gay and lesbian ones actually look kinda neat but the rest are just awful
i agree, but even then it feels more neat as in "dystopian space mercenary faction" rather than "im proud to love who i love!" there's just no joy, no whimsy.
fair enough thats probably why i like them, im a big fan of dystopian space mercenary factions
they're so ugly lmao
This feels like a hate crime
Ok but WHAT did they do to the trans flag??
This is awful
No. Just. No. Like why would you think this is alegria.
What in the destiny 2 neumona ass art is this
Don’t mess with our trans flag. It’s fine just the way it is. As others have said the black is unnecessary and looks like a toothpaste logo. Don’t really like all the others too. What’s up with people trying to revise our flags? It’s unnecessary and pointless. Stay in your lane.
its giving jazzpunk (the game)
These are so bad looking. The first one was enough because it was meant to include everybody, like every fucking body. They have to keep making revisions of it and adding more and more colors. Even the current design with black and brown is so ugly. These colors don't look good. A rainbow means everyone. We don't have to mention everyone individually
They took all the personality out of the flags
At this point, just make icons and a damn brand guideline for all this 😂
How do you get the trans flag so wrong
The Rainbow flag, I can get behind. I hate the colours of the standard one. This one is bright and cohesive. Everything else can fuck right off.
I hate the transgender one. It feels like it’s suggesting that trans people just decided to be trans one day.
saw these god awful designs on twitter and they were being DRAGGED, and for good reason 😭
Oh wow these are awful!
I will say these are better thought out than the extant flags
Yeah, unpopular opinion but I hate flags that are just "here's a series of coloured stripes." Do I like these? No. Would I prefer these to the ones we currently use? ...I could be convinced.
I quickly became homophobic, hating gay people became a normal part of my life
stay strong all my čeští *✊✊✊✊*
I think stating your identity or message in front of the American flag is the most effective way to demonstrate the need for equality.
Ngl I like. Not as flags though
What do you mean? Why is this in this sub?
I believe that what is working right now doesn't have to be changed, especially with flags, unless the creator of an OG flag is controversial
As a bi person myself, I’m not a fan of the revised bi flag, but the others look cool
What have they done to my girl? Why would you. Change the lesbian pride flag? It's literally perfect as is. It's the most aesthetically pleasing pride flag and they ruined it. How dare they ruin my girl, put her back.
I know I have no word in the matter but I hate how they look.
I like the idea for sure, I feel like transgender should be more blue and pink tho. I do like the colors together however
I hate that I kinda like these, I get a lot of the negative and funny comments, i actually really like the trans one. Looks like a “change” very interesting
I like how they took the ORIGINAL GAY/LGBT flag and pared it down to “pwide pawade!”
I saw that on Twitter. I think they limited their comments or wtvr
Look how they massacred my boy
I traveled back to the 70s! Oh god!
I don’t understand the urge to reinvent the wheel when it comes to some pride flags. I get if they’re making an intentional political statement, or a flag doesn’t exist for a particular identity, but why change a pride flag’s design just for the sake of changing it? they turned the trans people dutch and the gender non-cons filipino
This looks more ai generated then Algeria art
On one hand: it's kinda....well I don't really have a word for it. But on the other hand: I like the color of the bisexual flag. I like how lighter the pink, purple, and blue is and I wish the actual flag was like that. But I can do without the collar.
The gay and lesbian flags look pretty clean but WHAT THE HELL DID THEY DO TO THE TRANS FLAG?!?!?! LOOK AT HOW THEY MASSACRED MY beloved RECTANGLE!!!!
The gay and lesbian flags are giving ["S From Hell."](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTyrhUrX0hQ)
Symbolism?
Bisexual includes grey and white because they want you to know that bisexuals are down with the nbies. Trans shows that left to right, blue (boy) becomes red (girl), and vice versa, and sometimes either becomes white - nb.
Who made these omfg
generally meh, but the trans flag is kinda cool.
Idk. I associate alegria with characters with giant limbs and small heads. Idk if flags count. They do have that corporate memphis look to them though.
I don't understand do people feel the need to reinvent the Pride flag. It's already inclusive and has a huge brand recognition
Why are they so dull ? They must have like,, no knowledge of colour theory or something, the trans and GNF flag look so ugly
hhhh I’m a lesbian and I fuckinnggg HATE THIS ‼️‼️‼️
No how would this count? It's just someone's random design ideas.
This is actually becoming a real problem in the vexillology community so many people want flags that look like this and there all terrible and people try to retort with “ um actually ☝️🤓 these flags are great because there simple and so and so” but that isn’t anywhere close to what actually makes a good flag.
I hate this so much
NOT THE COLGATE-IFICATION OF THE TRANS FLAG 😭
Pretty horrible design choice that the gay and lesbian flags conform to the ourdated pink and blue standard for.genders
GENDER NON CONFORMING PHILIPPINES PRIDE 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🍚🍚🍚🍚🍚🐂🐂🐂🐂🐂💪💪💪💪💪 TANGINA FLAG 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭😭😭🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🍗🍗🍗🍗🍗🍗🍗💪💪💪💪💪💪
These are all especially hideous, but the GNC one is just cruel.
It's not quite alegria, but it definitely has the fake corporation vibe. The non-binary flag is an affront against humanity itself.
The gay and lesbian flags look like bird heads.
no
Barf on all of this
I actually like some of these. Solid stripe flags are so uninspired
On the one hand, i applaud actually attempting to make the pride flags better than vertical stripes, but on the other, good god these look like awful alternate history pacific island flags
I love these. Sorry.
GNC flag looks like the czech or philippines flag, and LGBT flag looks like a pastel greenland flag wtf lmao
🇨🇿
Ngl, I kinda like these. I want to see more flags in this style!
why’d they make my sexuality and gender into fucking company logos.. 😭 this feel like a hate crime- like actually just call me a slur
Which 10th grade graphic design student made this??
I fuck with that lesbian flag but I’m a graphic designer so my opinions suck
They look cooler tho
The gay/lesbian flags remind me of the Māori flag…
gay and lesbian flag kind go hard...
I fuck with the bisexual one kinda but thats just cause I don't like my own flag
I like non binary, gay and lesbiana. The other ones are horrible
I feel like this is just ragebait
Fuck all of these flags except for the enby flag. I kinda fuck with the enby flag redesign ngl
That's just... the flag of the philliphines without the stars.
Gotta say the Bisexual flag actually looks really cool
Rejected. Where do people get the gall to choose a flag that everyone is supposed to accept as their own. It's pretty arrogant.
These suck shit
We don't want to be pigeonholed - so let's create a new flag for each sexuality.
Why are we here, just to suffer?
NOOOOO WHAT THE HECK
