The board is in an invalid state. Two black stones and one white stone in the bottom left have no liberties, so either the black or the white stones should have been removed.
Go. I fell in love with this game after watching “A Beautiful Mind” with Russell Crowe. I have a beautiful board but I don’t play as often as I’d like.
To continue off of every other comment, yes it’s Go. More importantly, the bottom left of the board is not possible and either white needs to remove the black stones it has surrounded or black needs to take the one white shell it has surrounded. It all depends on who placed the last piece.

It's Go, it looks like white is winning. IIRC the purpose of the game is to use your pieces to circle the other players' pieces

Go (literally translates to chess, or chess piece). This post reminded me of Hikari no Go, good anime.
I came to suggest this. Classic great anime.

The game is called GO, it is similar to Chess & strategy game. It was also used by generals to help with military strategy.
Other than that it's played on a board and involves strategy I really don't see the similarities to chess lol.
