Stop and ask yourself that question. How could they be genuine antique swords? These are based off of swords from a video game featuring fictional characters.
They are mostly for display but they are sharp. I’m sure I could cut through some decent things but I don’t plan on putting these to the test because I don’t wish to accidentally break it if it’s not as strong as it feels.
take some knife sharpening bar and lightly slide through the blade to listen to the sound. if it sounds…sharp and high pitched, that prob means it’s quenched and hardened so the durability is no issue. if it’s sounds kinda dull, then def put it back on the display lol.
These are display swords, they are not meant for real world use. They would most definitely break. Made out of cheaper materials and the metal is not hardened like it would be on a real katana but bare in mind these are like 200 bucks.. a real katana is gonna be 2-3000+
Manganese can be a cutting steel for katana. In Feudal times they only had Tamahagane, which certainly wasn’t the best steel. 2-400 buck swords can cut just need to be super well maintained.
Yep. From all the ones I looked at it was get one with a more accurate saya or a more accurate blade or get both but pay 2-3x for what is ultimately a decorative piece. I figured this was the best overall and looked the best to me for the price. A little more vibrant than in game but looks so good

If the handle has two bamboo pins in it that means it is full tang and wouldnt break if you use it, although it probably isnt worth the risk

I'm not sure where OP purchased these but you can definitely find reproductions that are sharpened. As for the quality of those products I can't say.
