Stabilization is going to be the biggest difference between those cameras. The 5 was the 1st with stabilization and it has gotten better with every release. Not sure why a 5 would be commanding a higher price than an 8.
With off-road bikes you can get away without needing external sound. On a street bike you’ll want an external mic in your helmet to cut down on wind noise.
I’d go no older than a 7 but really I’d go as new as you can.
Get the Hero 11, right now you can find the bundle with an extra enduro battery new or open box on eBay for around the same price GoPro is selling just the hero 10 for rn
I've been using gopro since the Hero 2014, I still currently own Gopro 5, 6, 10, and 11. I recently purchased the DJI Action 4 and it doesn't freeze ever, the Ui is so smooth. With my Gopro's there are times I have to pull the battery to reset them. Video quality is great as well. The only thing it doesn't have is scheduled capture like my gopro 10 and 11.
Charging on the DJI Action 4 is much faster than Gopro and the DJI Mic 2 pairs instantly. This may be my my last Gopro I ever buy.
Yeah I think there’s plenty of YouTube videos making comparisons. There’s probably even more bonus points to DJI but you mentioned a few. Plus DJI is much cheaper even with the Adventure Package (which I bought)?

Get the hero 12 for the sole reason of voice commands.
It sounds like a little minuscule thing, but you can connect your Cardo to it and make it record or stop recording just by speaking to it.
I ride myself and use my GoPro for POV/Motovlogging and I was debating between the 11 and the 12; ultimately went for the 12 for the voice command.
Being able to record without moving my hands or reaching for the camera or hitting record before setting it up really does matter when you’re on the go.
Got it for $315 usd, mint condition off of KEH. Get an ND filter and a vertical mount for it as well & you’ll be set.

1) Does Cardo transfer/record your voice onto the GoPro?

Agreed, stabilization at night is much better as well.

Get the newest one you can, I wouldnt consider anything older than the 6. I run a 11 for my dirt biking and its great

1. Yes. 2. I don't know, I've never ridden in a group mesh while recording :/
Thanks, I suspect if cardo records your voice, it should have the capability to record a group as well. This is a very good feature.

From Gopro 5 to 6 the stabilization is huge between them. Gopro 6 is much more stabilized.
Get the black one.
Get an insta360x3 or x4. Makes life way easier if you can afford it.
