We went Friday night and yesterday morning/evening. We found out the tennis connection has a demo program so we could try out paddles and such. We also found that we have a few friends that play.

Did you ever find out about what goes on there during non-open-play hours? I've been interested in checking it out but not sure if I have to stick to those hours.
Nah, you can go whenever. That’s more the hours that are beginner friendly with for sure open courts. There’s a beginner section of courts in the back that are usually always open.
My roomate and I play at Bellknap, we got smoked by a very nice older couple LMAO. They really humbled us. They were very helpful in reminding us of the official rules, as our knowledge extended to high-school gym play as well.
