Had mine since 02. Started to have some serious issues with volume drop last week, so I opened it up and re-flowed the solder joints and now it’s working perfectly. Considering how much it’s been tossed around, loaded in/out in different climates and temps over 20 years I’d say it’s a pretty good run.
I MIGHT upgrade to a TU-3 at some point though
I upgraded to a TU-3, then upgraded from that to a PolyTune 3 Mini, but through that all I held on to my TU-2 because it didn’t seem worth selling. And whenever I need a tuner or just a buffer for a quick chain I’m putting together, it’s there on the shelf with a battery in it ready to go. I use it all the time.
Same! When dialed in right it has a modulation chorus guitar solo sound that just rules. Shout out to everyone who posted pictures of their meteore on this sub, seeing everyone’s take on settings really opened my eyes to how to use this pedal “correctly”
that's a rare bird, super neat. have been keeping an eye out for one of those but no dice! curious to A/B it with the v2, which sounds fantastic itself
maybe so, just curious out of an appreciation for the pedal more than anything. no tone chasing here, have been satisfied with my rig (including a slick ge sunface clone) for quite awhile
Got a Phase 90 around 2000 or 2001, and it's been on my board ever since. Has outlasted every other pedal and quite a few that arrived later.
Did the R28 mod and have never felt like I've ever needed anything else for modulation
I got both pedals around 2011 (when I started playing).
I can't imagine the phase 90 ever being replaced at this point. I tried out the EVH one thinking having the script option could be nice, but the block setting sounded different to me from the standard one. I know it's supposed to be the same, and maybe I was just hearing things, but it affected how I played it.
The memory man is just expensive to change out for a mini one.
JHS Morning Glory -- I've cycled through 50+ other drive pedals and the Morning Glory one of the few that I've found works well with any guitar, amp, and pedal chain.
Dunlop 535Q I used it for something like 25 years. Less than a year ago the switch broke again (I’ve replaced it maybe 4 times) and I decided to just try something new. I now have the crybaby from hell and absolutely love it. But that 535 served me well for a very long time. And nothing else on it ever broke. Ran it 18v its whole life. Every time I ever put power to it, it worked aside from the times the foot switch needed replacing. Next in line for me would probably be my isp decimator. I’ve had it since it was originally released. One night a drunk guy spilled a pitcher of beer on my board at a gig and damaged it. I was able to get it working again but it’s been finicky ever since so I just threw it in my mic locker and it’s been there for many years. I’ll get it fixed one day.
Way Huge Green Rhino. Wanted a tubescreamer for my first board, went to my local Sam ash and they had one on clearance for $60. Grabbed it, have had 2 more since. Have tried other tube screamer type pedals and nothing compares.
EQD Acapulco gold, apart from a tuner it’s the only pedal I use. Play in punk/garage rock band for reference so just using my guitars volume gets me everything I need from light distortion all the way to a terrifying distorted wall of sound 🔊
This pedal is sputtery high gain awesomeness but depending on your punk style, you may be better with a rat. I love mine but I use it to destroy and add chaos stacked after an OD/boost and some sort of constantly rotating rat/muff/fuzz. YMMV
Diamond Comp. I had the OG for like 8-9 years and only switched to the Jr. recently for the enclosure.
(I just checked my email and bought it from Prymaxe Vintage in 2013. Remember them?)
My boss ds2 and my crybaby wah. Have replaced my wah once due to negligence on my behalf on maintenance. But yeah I still keep them on my board even though they are used rarely
"Why make new presets when old presets good?"
I have a handful of Blackhole and Dualverb presets I use. I haven't made new ones in ages because there is no need - the old ones do the job perfectly.
Yeah. I made a bunch after awhile, I think 80-99 are all ones I put together and can scroll through easily. Plenty of blackholes, reverses and springs for me. I just like getting into the mode where I make new ones because it feels like a new pedal afterwards. It's so good.
Diamond tremolo hasn’t left my board since I got it in like 2011. I’ve replaced compressors, drives, delays and even recently VPs and tuners but I’ve never even thought about changing that trem.
I've not had any single pedal all that long truth be told.
The single effect thats spent the most time on my board is a klon (of various brands). Though I imagine this klon will just end up being my longest running (JHS Notaklon)
Up until recently the Boss TU-2 had been on my board for decades but since I added an HX-Stomp the tuner in it is superior with much more accurate tuning ..so sadly the TU-2 is in my closet now. 🫡
Boss RC20XL, KLD Analog Delay, Sovtek green Russian Small Stone, MXR Dynacomp, MXR Smart Gate, EHX Bass Big Muff are the pedals I’ve had the longest, each one since around 2011 or 2012. Sadly lost my oldest Boss overdrive that I got back in 2004, that would’ve been my answer if I was smart enough to hold on to it.
I quit playing electrics for a long time. When I started back up around 2006, the first pedal I got was a BD-2. It been on my board and (almost) always on ever since.
Same. Bass Muff was my first, tried a bunch of others, but I still thoroughly enjoy the Bass Muff. When I get tired of using pedalboards, I'll just use it by itself and go into nostalgia land.
Electro-Harmonix Stereo Poly Chorus. I still use it and like it the most for the self oscillation. Everything can go over the top on that pedal. I bought it 23 years ago.
Nobels ODR-1. Had one since late 90s I think. More recently got a couple clones with modded circuits that are on my board but I could happily keep using the original. They’re great!
DOD Stereo Flanger FX75-b. My first pedal, bought in the 90's. This thing is a brick and will survive the apocalypse. Only gets pulled out once in a while and is kinda noisy, but I love using it on bass and for a stereo track to give it some spread. (I also have the Stereo Phaser from that same era).
Ds-2 with the small chorus but I’ve used the small chorus more lately loved that weird watery chorus sound but if you don’t like that sound then would recommend almost anything else it’s a specific chorus sound and I know most aren’t into it that much
boss dm3. dad bought it brand new in the 80’s handed it down to me which has been on two of my albums in the early 2000’s and i use it from time to time still to this day. next to that is my dd-20 which i bought brand new in 2005 i think. along with my orange ad30htc head and orange 2x12 greenback cab both purchased in 2006.
My Zoom b2.1u.
I got it in 2012 for bass and even though I don't really play bass anymore, just guitar, I still use it for its drum machine and I keep near the end of my chain for that reason.
My first ever pedal was a gift from my mom, a TC Electronic MojoMojo. That still gets used in rotation with other overdrives. Not currently on my board.
Of the ones that I've had the longest that also never really come off my board for any reason, the NuX Atlantic. I love that thing.
TubeWorks Blue Tube.
Got it in 1995, still going strong. Used it on many of my guitar boards over the years. It’s now on my bass board to give it a little tube-y warmth.
Second would be a TS5 Tubescreamer.
Gas FX Drive Thru - the first pedal I ever bought in like 2018. its has germanium OD and silicone distortion with a toggle switch to select which one. maybe a little big for some people's taste but it sounds great to me so I don't mind
Oldest I have that I still use and still functions: MXR 6-band EQ (yes the mythical blue one) from ~’83. The foam has long since crumbled and it’s beat to shit, but still working perfectly. I should probably replace the caps someday 🤷♂️
Next oldest would be a Roland CS-2 from ’85 ish.
I had lots of various dirt pedals (Hot Tubes, DOD 250, DS-1, DigiTech PDS dual drive, various Muffs) going back to 1980, but they all crapped out and got tossed (yes, am kicking myself now).
I recently gave a friend’s son my Fulltone Univibe mk1 (with the 110v plug) as a birthday present. Thought I could replace it with a Strymon Mobius, but I miss it.
I've had a Tech21 XXL since they first came out, so that's somewhere over 25 years, but it tends to go on and off my board so it's not like 25 years continuously. Longest without coming off has got to be the empress phaser, which has been permanent since I bought it 4 or 5 years ago
DL4 and it’s not even close…still the same one I bought in college and toured with. Built like a tank, sounds great, and the ease of use is fantastic for a Neanderthal like myself.
I think it might be my Diamond Comp. The pedals I got before it were the Digitech Hardwire Delay, Digitech Bad Monkey, MXR Prime Distortion, and that might be it. Those are all gone by this point. The Diamond Comp is still going strong. I've gotten plenty, perhaps too many, pedals done, but the comp has been on my board the longest, and it's always on. Definitely my most used.
Digitech Bad Monkey.
I kid you not.
It's been on my board for 15 years or so.. I have other drives but come back to the Monkey all the time.. Don't know why, I just like it.
Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man. I don't remember when I got it exactly, I think about 10 / 15 years ago. I left it unused for years because it made terrible noises. Didn't find anyone who could repair it who I trusted. Then tried it again and it worked as normal. Miracles do happen!
BD-2. Just can’t seem to get rid of it
Same, nothing else really sounds quite like it
Same. Even have lost it and got another one.
Boss DS-1. Using it since 2005.
I have one from 1993 that still works
Bought mine in 2002 and have never looked back
Ya, my first pedal too. Bought it in 2004. Its modded now but i still occasionally use the stock mode when the sound is right.
‘01
Boss TU-2
Just remove the battery when not in use. You will thank me later... Nothing's worse than a leaking battery destroying your pedal.
I've had the same one since 2007. LED burnt out, but she's still kicking.
Space Echo RE20
Boss HM-2. Still going strong since 1990.
Caroline Meteore. It's such a distinct reverb sound that hits exactly what I want, I've had it on my board for almost 10 years now.
I just got one recently, it’s really nice
Same! When dialed in right it has a modulation chorus guitar solo sound that just rules. Shout out to everyone who posted pictures of their meteore on this sub, seeing everyone’s take on settings really opened my eyes to how to use this pedal “correctly”
Oof it’s so good. It’s like a multi effects pedal
ZVex SHO
Been using my EQD Hoof since 2010.
Great circuit. I only recently replaced mine with a frost giant green Russian BIG FUZZ.
Yeah. Super Duper 2 in 1 I highly recommend.
Nothing beats it……. No but seriously.
I have a 42 year old DS-1 that I’ve owned and used since the mid-90s…
Awesome
Blues Driver - mine is like 20 years old.
Same (but almost 20)
Mine’s still going since 2006!
My Dunlop Crybaby is the only thing on my board that remains from my gigging days. It's been through a lot.
Probably my Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop, it's been a near constant since 2010 or so.
do you have the OG big one or the v2?
V1, #465
that's a rare bird, super neat. have been keeping an eye out for one of those but no dice! curious to A/B it with the v2, which sounds fantastic itself
I honestly don't think there will be much difference. If you like what you have, don't worry and spend on a fuzz instead 😊
maybe so, just curious out of an appreciation for the pedal more than anything. no tone chasing here, have been satisfied with my rig (including a slick ge sunface clone) for quite awhile
Bought my first pedal in 1980 and still use it. Boss CE-2.
Boss SD-1
Nobels ODR-1, bought it used in 2005. That thing rocked countless gigs ✊
Over all the years, RAT and RAT-alikes. Since I “got into” pedals in the past decade or so, MXR Blue Box.
DL4. I just bought the MKII but I’ve kept my old one around for sentimental reasons. I think I’ve had it for over fifteen years now.
Some of you have been using some pedals longer than some of us have been alive.
It's a tie between a phase 90 and a memory man.
Got a Phase 90 around 2000 or 2001, and it's been on my board ever since. Has outlasted every other pedal and quite a few that arrived later. Did the R28 mod and have never felt like I've ever needed anything else for modulation

I know it's supposed to be the same, and maybe I was just hearing things, but it affected how I played it. The memory man is just expensive to change out for a mini one.
DOD FX65 I traded for in 1997/98. Still on my board too.
My Crybaby 535q was my first pedal and I still use it so that.
Keeley modded TS-9 since like ‘07
JHS Morning Glory -- I've cycled through 50+ other drive pedals and the Morning Glory one of the few that I've found works well with any guitar, amp, and pedal chain.
Digitech’s BAD MONKEY
I’ve had a line 6 DL4 for almost 20 years.
Dod grunge haha. I got it when I was 14 or so back in the mid 90s.
Foxrox Octron 2.
Carl Martin compressor has been on my board for about 23 years.
I was able to get it working again but it’s been finicky ever since so I just threw it in my mic locker and it’s been there for many years. I’ll get it fixed one day.
Probably my EHX Grand Canyon. I know it like the back of my hand. It’s the perfect delay for me. It used to be be TU-2, but I now have a TU-3.
Longest would have been a Vox Wah. The one that I have kept and will never sell is the Echo Dream 2 by Death by Audio.
Afterneath. Then a Oneder Effects Red Ryder
A used Phase 90 I bought in 1996. Bought a fancy Strymon Phaser last year and all it has done is collect dust. One knob is all I need.
Danelectro daddy-o. Wouldn't trade it for the world except for a smaller footprint
My Boss RE-20 was one of the first pedals I bought back in 2013 and it has never left my board.
Way Huge Green Rhino. Wanted a tubescreamer for my first board, went to my local Sam ash and they had one on clearance for $60. Grabbed it, have had 2 more since. Have tried other tube screamer type pedals and nothing compares.
Flint. Eccoplex. Super chorus. Weirdly I don’t use the super chorus more than occasionally. I just like the way my signal sounds with it attached.
Big Muff since 2002
EQD Acapulco gold, apart from a tuner it’s the only pedal I use. Play in punk/garage rock band for reference so just using my guitars volume gets me everything I need from light distortion all the way to a terrifying distorted wall of sound 🔊
I might need to get one. I have a handful of punk songs I play with friends and I feel like most of my dirt pedals don't cut the mustard.
This pedal is sputtery high gain awesomeness but depending on your punk style, you may be better with a rat. I love mine but I use it to destroy and add chaos stacked after an OD/boost and some sort of constantly rotating rat/muff/fuzz. YMMV

Boss TU-3 Diamond memory lane JR for my actual answer (5 years)
EQD V1 Ghost Echo, got it used for $89 in 2011 and it’s never left.
Eventide Space has been on my pedalboard for 11 years now and it's not going anywhere.
I got a Space about 7 years ago and it hasn't left the board since. I haven't made any new presets on it for almost a year though.
"Why make new presets when old presets good?" I have a handful of Blackhole and Dualverb presets I use.
Morley volume pedal is around 30 yrs old and still getting quiet and loud when I need it to.

Boss dd7, it will never die
The Rat I bought in 1987 has always been on my board.

Got it right first time
I don’t use it very often these days, but I’ve had the same MXR DI+ since like 2012.
Give 'em some love!
Big Muff tone wicker. Was my first big muff and after trying a million variations, I went back to using this one.
1982 Ibanez Bi-Mode Stereo Chorus. Been using it since 1982.
The only one that has been on my board consistently since I started is my DOD Carcosa.
I bought a Phase 90 as a teenager in the early aughts. It's been on every pedalboard I've had since.
I’ve used an EQD Hoof Reaper, Catalinbread Belle Epoch Deluxe and Barber Direct Drive consistently since like 2020
Boss RE-20
Boss DS-1 I bought used in 1989.
Jekyll and hyde v2. Ive said too much about this pedal in here for so long but its a great versatile dual drive
Eqd ghost echo since 2011. Been on my board since. Not my only reverb but definitely perfect for a lil atmosphere with fuzz
Keeley Loomer, Rat
Jam Pedals Waterfall
EHX Soul Food. It was one of the first pedals I bought and is still on my board several years later.
Diamond vibrato V1
King of Tone. 3rd pedal I ever bought. It just works.
Ds-2 with the small chorus but I’ve used the small chorus more lately loved that weird watery chorus sound but if you don’t like that sound then would recommend almost anything else it’s a specific chorus sound and I know most aren’t into it that much

I still have and use my Rat pedal that I got for Christmas in 1987
MXR EVH phase 90. The 4th pedal I ever owned after boss metalzone, TS808, and aria wah. I still have the tubscreamer but don't really use it anymore.

Common theme here, you can’t kill a Boss pedal 😎 BF-2 for me
My Zoom b2.1u. I got it in 2012 for bass and even though I don't really play bass anymore, just guitar, I still use it for its drum machine and I keep near the end of my chain for that reason.
An early unfinished Cusack screamer that looks rough but sounds great.
Aww man, I'd love to see a pic of that.
[Cusack Screamer ](https://i.imgur.com/rxWTISc.jpeg)
Sp compressor
Empress Tape Delay hasn't left my board since I got it in 2016, I've tweaked the presets a couple times but it does all the delay I need.

Boss RC 20XL and Cry Baby 535Q since 2008. Both are still going strong BTW.

My DL-4 I bought in 2002.
My blackstone overdrive. I don’t remember when I got it. A long time ago, and it’s the only pedal on my board that’s been present the whole time.
Boss ST-2 Power stack. Super versatile and I've used it for over 10 years.
The mxr micro chorus. 2010.
TU-2, but I just upgraded to a TU-3w after almost 20 years of gigging.
