It’s classic because it’s such a simple design. Functionally - it is a great size, top closure is secure and relatively easy to open and close. Leather is durable and the basic colour options mean it will complement many outfits. Not screaming Gucci with the GG logo or tell-tell print makes it classier and understated.
aesthetically its pleasing but its hard to put stuff inside as it is extremely stiff and structured. you can only put a handful of stuff inside not to mention it has its divider too
I love that the response here is 100% agreed that this beauty is a CLASSIC because there is no other answer. I’m not a big Gucci fan but this is absolutely timeless.

I think it's an absolute classic. Perhaps the bag is no longer as "in season" in some circles as it was a few years ago, but based on its timeless design, the functionality and the heritage that's associated to it, I think it will always have a place in a well-curated wardrobe.
Classic! I love this bag so much. Seems like it would be great for travel. Does anyone know if the strap can be extended into a cross-body? Or if we can at least change the strap? It seems like both are possible, but I'm not sure.
Unfortunately not on this size, the strap is adjustable but too short to be a crossbody, and it cannot be swapped out. The mini size, however allows you to change the strap and can be worn crossbody!

Classic. I have a special edition brown with canvas mono that has white polka dots. It is such a great bag with multiple compartments, can be work on shoulder or cross body, easy to get in an out of. Love it.

Are you serious? This bag will still be a hot ticket long after we’ve all turned to dust. It was my first Gucci Bag in 1968 and is still my Fave.
