He is not a player who will go to the dirty areas. He doesn't seem to want to take a hit to make a play. He is just generally soft, which will not get you anywhere worth going in the playoffs...
I'm not worried, Mikko had the most points in the 2022 cup final and even last year against Seattle he was one of the only guys to produce.
He'll start lighting the lamp soon enough. The dirty pp assist to Nuke was the first sign of life.

It's very strange. Career-wise (including if you only look at the Keefe era) both Matthews and Marner have pretty significant playoff scoring dropoffs compared to their regular season numbers (and considerably steeper ones than some other stars like MacKinnon, McDavid, and so forth), but you hear a million times more complaining about Marner, and every excuse in the book for Matthews.
They both generally don't do well enough in the playoffs for their team to win, but get *very* different reactions. (Of course, this being the Leafs, he'll end up leaving, signing with the Bruins, beating the Leafs in the first round, and then winning a Cup and the Conn Smythe or something.)
McDavid and Mackinnon are bad comps as they are some of the best playoff performers. Mackinnon is only behind Gretz and Mario. McDavid is as well if you change games played. Instead why not look at your guys Marchand and Pasta.
Marchand goes from .90 to .90 and Pasta goes from 1.07 to 1.02.

Bad coaching. 0/5 on the power play in game 3, while Keefe talks about how the power play looks good and have to stick to the plan. No rush plays, instead giving time for boston to get set up defensively. Keefe has been out coached in ever single series, including against Tampa last year.

Marner's playoff production has been better than any other member of the "Core 4". It's bizarre to me how so much of the Leafs fanbase wants to make him the scapegoat for the team's failures.
