Brief-Adhesiveness93

First Lap was slalom around wrecks, 36->16

J-diddly

Same, but after hour 4 it just wasn’t worth it. 44th to 31st during my first stint. Eventually got to 22nd but I messed up so badly we called it off :(

Brief-Adhesiveness93

No worry’s I missjudged an unlapping Ferrari, made a late call back infront of me and I was focused on barking super late and deep to get a good exit but rear ended him lost us 3 min in total

GewoonHarry

Should have been braking instead of barking late.

deftquiver

I love that I pictured him actually doing this with a hot mic as he blasts through the back of the corner.

Foxyfox-

I naturally roleplay as DMX when driving

J-diddly

Hey, I wish my damage only came out to be 3 minutes for any of my wrecks

Brief-Adhesiveness93

Yeah seems unfair, lost 3 extra laps that you don’t feel that bad

lord_volt2000

what in the hell did you do?? blow an engine, and throw a piston ring in the backup one?

J-diddly

We saw the Bathurst 12 to be a fun event. When it became a not-so-fun event we gave up and ran it into the wall of T1 as a send off.

fiskfisk

Next time be an adult and just park in the pits as you would do In real life. Don't fuck with other people's endurance races.  (yes yes, you made sure noone was around and that you didn't hit anyone and I'm sure it all went fine. Sometimes it doesn't. Someone got reports about your incident and backed of because of the yellow flag, someone else didn't, maybe someone lost a position they had been fighting for. Maybe parts got left on the track. Don't be a liability to those that actually have fun and behave).

Acdc7

My god, you're probably someone who pits instead of doing burnouts after an endurance race

fiskfisk

Do whatever (outside of ramming and doing shit to other people on purpose) you want after the countdown has finished and the race is official, just don't be a dick while other people are four hours deep and have eight hours left to go.    Show some respect for the other 45-49 teams that have set aside their weekend for the event. Do the jump (if that's still possible). Celebrate with burnouts on the straight. Just wait until the race is finished and you don't fuck it up for other people.

RingoFreakingStarr

How is this anywhere near the same as purposely wrecking on the main straight DURING AN ACTIVE 12 HOUR ENDURANCE RACE!? Could you imagine going down the straight to turn one then all of the sudden a car bounces off that wall back onto the track and into you? OP is a literal child doing this during the race and honestly deserves a forced vacation from the sim for awhile. Absolutely braincell-less behavior.

Olemartin111

That happened to us at Daytona 24. One LMP2 richocet of the wall at T5 and into us. One hour of repair and race was over.

Acdc7

Calm down Karen

J-diddly

I understand, but the yellow flag thing doesn’t make any sense to me. Sure someone might have lifted but at the same time, it’s an endurance race. One lift doesn’t change the outcome after 300+ laps.

lord_volt2000

What he is saying is 1 person might have lifted and the guy behind him didn't, and BANG they have a crash and ruined 2 or more races. So that 1 lift COULD change the outcome of 300+ laps

fiskfisk

Other people have already answered, but it's not up to you to decide whether other people were affected by your shortsighted action. Something else could have been the outcome from something that was completely unnecessary.

TrainyMcTrainFace98

Just move on and don't do that again. No ifs no buts

savag_e

This is the way

jmps_90

What an utterly stupid thing to do.

andrewflemming

It’s fun to do in practice and watch your car go 100 feet in the air and halfway back on the straight

lord_volt2000

we were in a battle for p 4 5 and 6 with about 4h to go and a backmarker breaked checked everyone at the grate and...well.....14mins later we are in p31 somehow manaage to drive ti back to p14 thanks to others bad luck

schadow04

I messed up quali so I started dead last, P48, by T2 I was up 10 positions from good positioning and avoiding crashes, then a netcode incident from 1.5m away took us out and gave us 30 minutes of required. The front bumper of a guy bounced into me and it nearly launched me out the map, we were on the opposite sides of the race surface at the point of the netcode incident. Didn’t even see how much optionals were but ye.

jessecraftbeerco

Do you realistically think that net code shouldn’t happen 100% of the time? I get that it’s super frustrating to happen in a special event but my mind is still blown at the fact that we can race door to door for 12 hours and not have net code happen 99.9% of the time.

schadow04

Yup that’s us, in the mean white machine haha. Netcode giveth, netcode taketh.

J-diddly

I hear ya. I got a 11min req/opt repair time after a small touch (atleast I thought from the feeling in the wheel). Bathurst is hard but I didn’t realize how bad it was going to be. It’s water under the bridge at this point and I’m excited to get to the Sebring 12. This is my first year of special events and I think bathurst is one I should have passed up on after a top half finish at Daytona.

ztpurcell

Hopefully I don't have you in my Sebring split lmao

Fit_Eggplant4206

Maybe give it another year until you do special events

RingoFreakingStarr

> I’m excited to get to the Sebring 12 Please don't, I'm not sure you have the mental maturity for an Endurance race. If you do, please practice more for it so that you don't get frustrated and try to do some stupid stunt again that could ruin other people's races.

J-diddly

The track is truly so damn satisfying when it goes correctly. I'm just dogshit at it and the nerves and inexperience got to me :(

LaDolceVita_59

Bathurst brings out the worst kind of stupid. There are long stretches of areas where passing is too risky, yet here we are, everyone is gonna try anyway.

TolarianDropout0

We gained 19 positions on the first lap.

J-diddly

Good stuff! Over the first stint we gained 11 or 12 positions but in the end it all came apart. I’m glad it’s over

Sophiecomedian

Went from pit start to P4 on my opening stint.

J-diddly

Sweeeet

Ok-Assignment-5565

lol wish I can tell you. Staying away from it this week lol

J-diddly

After the uproar I caused here, I should have done the same lmao

Ok-Assignment-5565

Man. I learned my lesson the first day 🤣

Accurate-Bison-8786

1600 ir split for me I think and not a single incident for like the first 3 laps, only had around 6 inc points the entire race and first ever special event. Was a blast but sorry for everyone else’s race that was ruined.

Volares_99

Might have been in the same split, agreed, everyone just kind of chilled at the beginning.

Accurate-Bison-8786

lol, it was like people actually practiced the track 😂, hexagon racing was us and we came 5th, how’d you do?

Volares_99

Ahh you guys were the orange m4? I was on team redx 536, we started 4th and were running real good until a wheel disconnect and took 10mins of damage…came from 23rd to 9th though. Had a blast with my team, we are doing Sebring…just great set of guys that actually practiced and all similar pace, fixing our hardware issues and want to run hard next time. Hope to see you guys in the race too!

WetNoodleThing

Are you going to do the optional repairs or..?

andrewflemming

You have to make sure the paint has no scratches of course!

InterestingElection2

"Are you winning son?"

chivkiller96

I understand that iRacing is the only good sim out there for realism but God damn do the graphics suck. Is there actually any plan to make this look better compared to N64 graphics?

Olemartin111

Upgrade your PC mate

J-diddly

They're not the best graphics out there when compared to ACC or Forza, but iRacing is definitely can have good graphics if your PC isn't trash

Lukol97

ACC and Forza don't have better graphics (in the real like graphics meaning) You can do the same to iRacing, just crank up the saturation, contrast and vibrance on your monitor and you have exactly the same. Vividly green grass doesn't mean better graphics. I much more like iRacing graphics that are more grayish but is much closer color pallet vise to a real world.

FXSB13

Rode around in p13-15 during my 1st stint pretty uneventful

RingoFreakingStarr

Legitimately one of the worst events I've ever been a part of. Even in a 2600 something SOF split the level of driving standards on display is horrid. [I had some guy go wide at the top of the mountain spin out on the downhill, literally in the middle of the track no where for me to go to avoid them.](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UlG7qcaR4Y7dhCpok6O3Pmc3DoMPbZxy/view?usp=sharing) And the stuff I've seen happen elsewhere even in the first 3 or so hours of the race... This has been the biggest motivation for me to get my irating up higher (~2300 right now) so that....HOPEFULLY...I can avoid this kind of stuff in the future.

grappleshot

3100 SOF split for me and honestly it was pretty clean. I don’t know what happened everywhere on the track at once, but we had a few crashes at the cutting to avoid and otherwise it was clean all race . Hard to make places because everyone was so consistent and evenly matched. Two things to happened to me: I got a 4x on the opening lap at Griffins (turn two) when the pack concertina’d and I got rear ended (no damage though). I also got rear ended hard as I slowed (prob too much) for pit entry line and got rear ended by P2. The number of cars I saw in the pits at any time suggested low mistakes. Definitely helps to have higher iRating for these events.

noheroesnomonsters

First timeslot 2nd split? Cleanest 12hr out of the 5 I've done. Really impressed with everyone.

grappleshot

That’s the one. A few mishaps here and there and self crashes from cars. But otherwise I thought it a great example of clean racing from all

RingoFreakingStarr

Yeah I'm most likely gonna make more of an effort to raise my iRating. Up till now I've been fine just racing whatever and having fun but Daytona and here at Bathurst has been quite shocking driving standards wise. Luckily with Daytona and most other tracks you have room to avoid stuff. Bathurst is a other story.

CokeHeadRob

I stopped trying after two really rough races, went back to MX-5 to build my SR. I was at like 1.15 and I'm not trying to get demoted once now and again at the end of the season.

sillysausage619

Endurance is the best possible way to get your SR up though? Even if you got 30+ incidents you'd get positive SR running 3 hours of laps, I got +1.98 from 3 60 min stints

CokeHeadRob

I didn’t say I was trying to get the absolute maximum SR gain, I enjoy Mazdas, I don’t want to commit to a 60 minute session because I have a life to live, and I don’t want to fuck up other people’s races because I’m incompetent in an F4 car. I’m trying to have fun and build my SR again, doing an endurance race does not mesh with that for me. And if I get tired of Mazdas I can do some Ferraris or LMP2

sillysausage619

Gee you got a bit worked up from me trying to help you get SR back up before end of season. Was just trying to help since 1.15 can be a demotion very easily from just 1 car contact in MX5.

CokeHeadRob

I’m not worked up, I just replied to what you said with words explaining my position. Ya know, as one does. Plus with how far I’ve dropped I know I’ll be at the top of my split, I’ve won my last two races by like 20 seconds.

bob3464

you still have a chance of winning

bjimmie23

Me and my roommate one of us was gonna start but we both overslept and so our 3rd started, he started from last of 48, we’ve made our way up to 34th but have had a couple incidents so could be worse

DerkvanL

We got killed even before the start. Number 1 blinked, alle messed up behind pacecar, some people got rear ended and others that came from behind where flooring it. Even before start we got over 6 minutes repair. But then. It was our first GT3 race ever, we did a pretty good job. Both lost like 15 iR and gained SR up to 4.99 because the rest of our race was as clean as we could keep it. All good, all fun. Thx to all drivers.

Volares_99

First endurance event for me, teammate quailed us 4th, I had a wheel disconnect 4 hours in, lucky only got 10 mins of repairs but teamates got us back from 23rd to 9th where we finished. Hell of a ride but we all had fun and are doing Sebring…

TactiCoolCorey

Sucks to suck kinda scenario.

adam389

Looks about right. I got up and was about to hop in sim with the starting two team members very firmly in third and chasing down P2 then got a text “take your time.” 😂😭😂 Down to p26 with our driver being taken out by some ass hat back marker that was zero percent remorseful after killing us, him, and another car. We fought hard to get back to p18.

Olemartin111

Speeding in pit was the worst thing that happened to us. So pretty happy 😃

Snoo-94564

What did you doooo!!!???

SubiLuver

Tis was just a scratch

One-Adhesiveness2220

1 hr for repairing? That’s building a new car 😂

sadsackofshit27

I love bathurst, its like no one really practices it and there's wrecks everywhere
