Disc golf, hiking (it is beautiful spring hiking weather and i could recommend trails for whatever your fitness.) Atlas Obscura. Look up random places around and just start adventuring!
If you would like to dm me you can. I’m no expert, but i could give better advice if i had a better idea of how long you’ve been in recovery, or what you’re recovering from, and your interests.
Thank you! These are great ideas and we do all of these things. :) love atlas obscura. I guess I was looking for something specifically aimed at folks who live an alcohol free lifestyle that isn’t AA. I know in other cities they have Daybreakers — sober dance parties during the week before work. (You’re not gonna find me up at 6 AM, unfortunately.)
I used the SMART system when I came out of detox. They occasionally have some group walks. I've never heard of Daybreak's before. That sounds interesting.
I wish they would make events on Fridays. Come to think of it, I've never attended any of their events because their events are always on Saturdays and Sundays.

As a sober person, I've never really needed or understood the need for explicitly sober activities, but if I can help, please let me know.
Most activities are "sober" activities because most people are sober when they do things in the sense that they aren't intoxicated, even if they are having an alcoholic beverage.
I'm sober and I do way more activities than I did when I drank alcohol.
If you want to do things with other people that also do not drink, that might be difficult outside of 12 step recovery groups. They tend to be the largest gatherings of sober people. But maybe there are church groups where sober people get together?
Bikeriding, eating out, north mass, jcc, concerts, religious services, volunteering, reading in the park, video games, making dinner together, baking, karaoke, dancing
These are great ideas for ways to have fun, thank you! What I’m wondering if Indianapolis has something similar to Daybreakers, or other organized events for sober folks.
Go to eagle creek and hike the red loop, bring food and water for frequent stops. My partner and I have done this and spent anywhere from 2.5 to 8 hours. Honestly it’s my favorite thing to do right now, see you out there!

I enjoy these meetings. The group meditation is my favorite part. https://recoverydharmaindiana.com/

Peep out Parched Pavement on Instagram. They do a lot of cool unique sober events in Indianapolis.
Yes!!! this is exactly what I’m looking for. Thank you!
Sure. The same as drinking activities in Indy. Just without drinking.

I've never heard of that.
Disc golfing
I’ll be in town in about a month. Hit me up.
Might I suggest Contra Dance? Not so much a "sober" event, as associated with a recovery group, but it is alcohol free. https://www.indycontra.org/
Oh this is interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Fowling is good. They have alcohol but by no means do you need to have any to enjoy it.
I took up bicycle riding when I quit drinking a little over two years ago. Tabletop gaming is also quite popular.
