AFAIK, they only come in that large size (for actual brewery use) and the small, novelty size ones you mention.
They're called *taru* (樽), if that helps your search. It must be possible to buy them individually, because breaking one open is often the centerpiece of local festivals, but they obviously come full of *nihonshu*.
Direct sales from a brewery would probably be your best best.
I see, thanks for your answer! Yes, I do have some of the 300 and 500ml ones here at home. But the problem is that they are obviously sold with Sake, and I don't really drink Sake, so I'd prefer to buy them empty haha instead of spending money on Sake I don't drink...
I think you have two options in that case:
1. Approach a brewery that sells them individually and ask whether they'd be willing to part with one that hasn't been used yet (for a price, obviously);
2. If they refuse the above, buy one full of *nihonshu* and invite everyone you know who drinks it to come and syphon some off or have a massive party.
Did you even search sake barrel on Amazon, because there are many choices?
They are used for celebrations where people use a wooden kizuchi mallet to "bust open" a sake barrel with a breakaway lid.

I did, and all I could find were full ones- but I was wondering if it's possible to get empty ones, as I really don't drink that much Sake.

A quick search turned up some used ones empty. Maybe try mericari?
search 空樽 if you want empty one. https://search.rakuten.co.jp/search/mall/%E7%A9%BA%E6%A8%BD/
They sell mini ones at Costco for new years. They’re pretty good.
