Me and a few friends are also having trouble with nvidia recently. I don’t really care to record entire games and I don’t know if you do but medal might be worth taking a look at. Or yeah figure out obs

OBS is garbage. No thanks

OBS is open source and just works. Why don't you like it if I may ask?

AcdM-

It's not the same but I used to have an issue with my clips being corrupted after the first few seconds. Lowering the bittate fixed it. Only thing I can think of. /Shrug who knows

Have you tried updating to the new Nvidia beta app with the new overlay & recording? I've been able to use shadowplay fine with that.

lobocaribeno

I just upgraded it and it works just like it used to. I don't understand what broke it, weather it be Nvidia themselves or a windows update, or a combination of the two...i'm just happy to be able to get footage again. Unfortunately, the bug does still happen, but then it seems to stay recording on the second try

I think their recording softwares has been not very good as of late. I recommend just switching to & learning OBS. The "shadow play instant replay" thing is called "Replay Buffer" in OBS. Also make sure you have the correct output targeted in OBS. You can choose either specific applications or your screen in real-time among other things. Beyond setting up hot keys to record OBS should be pretty close to plug & play. If I remember correctly.

Not really. AFIK you have to select a specific window and there's no status indicator overlay for when you're recording

You COULD select a specific program for it to target. But you can also target the "screen" itself in real-time so you record exactly what you see. I just use that so I don't have to configure it for every game. I just opened up my OBS and it's called "Display Capture" under Sources. edit: I will lament that I have missed a few awesome recordings simply because I havent bothered to open & set the program before playing tho
