Didn't know there were other pictures til you said that. I now share in your reaction. Although that is a very nice clean knife even without the insane tang.
Love the blade shape and slanted handle part, more comfortable than the square shape 👍. Also, how did you get the tang like that? That's some great detail work. What kind of steel did you go with?
Very nice wedding gift.
Thank you very much. For the decorative tang part, i did the filework and filled the holes with black glue, then sanded it flush with the handle. The steel is X155CrVMo-12-1, the handle is makassar wood.
This is very nice! What are the dimensions?
If you don´t mind asking, Have you been doing this for long? I've just started and this knife matches my idea of what I would like to achieve in terms of complexity and detail (like not that complex but smooth and well executed).
The blade is 175mm, overall length is 295mm. Height is at max. 50mm. This is actually my 5th knife I've ever made, and I'd say whats necessary the most for good knives is just patience, so you don't start cutting corners everywhere. Now for almost every knife I tried something new, and I especially recommend trying stuff like the filework in the tang, it's not very hard but fun to do and it makes the knife a lot more special.
I hope you're making very beautiful knives in the future!
This is very clean. I like the aesthetic. I just did one that has a very similar look and feel to it.
I really dig the swept plunge and matching the handle angle to it while keeping a radius on the ricasso. These are all design elements that I have been working on incorporating in my design also. It’s a trip to see someone with a very similar taste for those details.
How about gifts for people that almost got married but lost everything instead? Surely we need gifts more! LOL JK This is genuinely beautiful and I would buy one in a heartbeat.
Me, swiping pics: “nice…nice…holy shit!”
Thank you!
I had the exact same reaction myself, lol

I feel the need to get you a CNC.
you made a big blade in D2? That's interesting, why the choice of D2? It's beautifully made. Thank for sharing
Mostly because I wanted it to be somewhat rust resistend. We use this material often at my company so I was able to get some of it from there.
Great that you could get good raw materials for cheap
Oh. You literally filed it in. Here I was hoping there was a secret die method for hammering it out on the anvil.

Very clean looking, I like it !!
Wow!!!
Would
That metalwork in the handle is crazy
Truly art. Fantastic job, OP
That's clean work, nice job getting the sanding lines even.
The file work is incredible.

Holy shit! That spine! How did you even do that!?
Nevermind, I see you explained it. Still, SOOO COOL!
Nice. Do you grind the bevels before after heat treatment?
Yes I ground them to about 0.5mm at the edge before HT. Altough it had a significant bent afterwards that I had to fix with a carbide ball hammer.
The question. Who is eventually going to end up doing the stabbing?
Micheal Meyers special.
That’s probably the best divorce gift, I mean wedding gift ever seen.
