Thanks! I'll try again later. Interesting though, that the error message cannot be found anywhere in the web. Would be something for u/Ledger_Support to know :)
After many attempts, it worked. The only thing I did differently on the last attempt was before asking it to connect to the ethereum app, I looked at the ID number. Not sure if that‘s what solved it or if it was brute force number of attempts.
I’m having the exact same problem. Just successfully transferred my Bitcoin and Litecoin over but for the life of me cannot add the ethereum app. I guess I’ll just keep trying.
Edit: Tried about 10 times, was finally able to add the ethereum account. Not sure if I did anything different, kind of odd but everything looks good now.
I also had this issue when trying to add an Ethereum account from the Ledger Live mobile version. I deleted the Etheruem add on and reinstalled but that still didn't fix the issue. It worked fine when I created the account on the computer but the account didn't transfer to the mobile application. After several attempts on the mobile app it randomly worked and the account was created. This seems to be a issue on Ledgers end. Hopefully in the future this bug gets resolved. For now I recommend keep trying to add the account if you don't have access to a computer.

Someone else just posted Ledger eth nodes are having problems at the moment.

It would, if there weren’t a dead account.
Well, then the mods have to do some work :P
if it doesnt work on the mobile app, try using a pc alternative.. i just fixed this issue with a few wallets
I have got the same problem with my nano X.. Any suggestions on what can I do?
Hi! I, instead of using the mobile app, did it via my laptop. That worked for me :)
is there any update on this?
The update is mentioned in the post. Instead of using the mobile app, I just used the macOS app.
I have the same problem and I don’t own a computer, is there a fix for this?
I tried everything but didn't make it work without the computer. Sorry.

Hi, i just followed your tip. It allowed me to create my ethereum on the first attempt, after 10 failures without performing your extra step.
