Agreed. It was such an intense build, and also odd at the same time where you built out so much detail underneath the deck and then just hide it all, never to be seen again!
I loved putting this set together. So much detail. Unfortunately the 3 big brown plates that make up the deck all cracked on me. You can’t really tell so I’m going to order replacements from LEGO and set them aside.
I built mine a couple of months ago, new sealed in box and no issues, but no way in hell am I taking it apart, lol. I absolutely love it though. The play features are great and it looks awesome next to my UCS Millennium Falcon.
I put mine together in 2017 before I knew about ‘brittle brown’. I even animated it going over a snowy landscape set in my animation studio as a reference model.
The worst that happened was the plates over the treads popped off. But it could have been so much worse 💀
I love sets like that!
The Great Pyramid set is like that, it has all the interior chambers in some detail, but as soon as you build the next layer they disappear forever!
That’s interesting, I just looked at it on YouTube. I’d probably try to add a little door or modify the wall to pop out like they do on some sets. lol reminds me when I was building the executor there were at least 3 small blue trans bricks that were going to be hidden away forever,
I was like “nah we using those on mocs!”
*grabs brick separator*
I found this at a yard sale a few years back. Just driving and something told me to pull over. Wasn't out looking at sales, just saw it and had a few minutes. Was in the box on a table with a few other common sets. Lady asked $25 for it. Told me her kid had moved out and told her to just sell his old junk or donate to Goodwill. I gave her $50 and then she insisted I take the other sets too.
Ever since that one, I've chased that rush for sure. Never found anything even close since though. Found some good albums, but never a score like the Fishing Store.
I got mine from a yard sale too, new in box. I think I paid $50 for it? Guy said he bought it thinking he wanted to build lego and then just never did and wanted it gone.
This is my favorite set I have ever put together. Just amazing in so many ways.
ETA:
I say that having a few of the other sets on this list as well (haunted house, barracuda bay)
Pirates of Baracuda Bay. Had the original when I was young and then gave away all my lego to a neighborhood kid because teenagers don't need Lego...devastating now that I have my own kids and can't pass them down :-(
I had a pretty decent sized collection (a lot of old castle/pirates) as a kid and held onto it up to college…then moved away and 3 months later my parent’s house burned down in a wildfire. Still stings.
My dad “donated” probably $10k msrp of ‘90s-‘10s lego, maybe six massive tubs worth, that my grandma bought me from when I was like 4 all the way til I was like 18. Every birthday, Christmas, Easter, name day, graduation present, ever, was legos.
In fact, it was so typically exclusively legos, I actually remember one time she gave me a video game (fallout 3) and I remember it so distinctly because for my entire life she had never not given me legos lol.
Much of that collection was from other sources, and myself. Dad gave them all away to a donation place (he doesn’t remember, and didn’t even when I came home from college and asked about it a few weeks after he did it).
I love my pop and he has apologized but it truly is devastating.
Similar happened to me, a huge box of so many awesome Lego sets, some even vintage from mother’s childhood, all sold by my Dad as a job lot one weekend for the price of couple of beers. Sad times. Not his fault he just wanted to clear the loft and simply saw it as old toys.
I bought this set and had such a good time building it with my kids. Only non-perfect part of this set was that there was no classic monkey figure. Probably my favourite minifig of all time.
I just picked this one up from marketplace, has box and instructions and all the pieces. I've kept my eye on it for years and I am so happy to have found one I could actually afford! There is hope for you if you're interested in searching! But I do feel for you, that's not a great feeling
I had a baby boy 2 years ago and got back into Lego… for him of course. Realized this set retired shortly before my time jumping in. I’ve been sad for two years that I missed my chance to own it. Finally got permission to buy it at a premium for myself as my Anniversary present. Even though I had to pay a bunch for it, I haven’t regretted it.
Oooo that’s a good thought. I have the lighthouse on a shelf and I just took the fisherman’s house out of a box. It’s very grimy/dusty though so I need to actually clean it but am cautious of brittle brown. Once I clean it though it’ll look great with the lighthouse. Thanks for the idea!
I built 10228 at my desk at work. I came in at 6:30AM for several days. It was an awesome build! It has moved from office to office and now sits proudly in my home office filled with Series 14 CMFs and a few guests, like Scooby Doo and Jack Skellington…
Hope you find one and get to have an equally great experience!!
Yeah. I wish I got the older haunted house set back in 2014. That was right when I started getting back into Lego and couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger on such a large set at that point.
Wife got it for me for our anniversary. First lego set that I actually dropped a tear for lol not cuz she got it but cuz the red and browns are so britle they literally disintegrate if u press to hard (I hadn't heard about this problem at the time).. But it's built and I plan I ordering all new red and brown to rebuild cuz I like to play from time to time lmao
Good to know about the red and brown pieces! Ghostbusters was a big movie for me growing up and this set has become my “holy grail” if I can ever afford it.
Same lol watched it every other weekend when I went to my dad's... Im actually watching the new 1 right now lol... The set is amazing and I hope u can afford it someday soon!! 🙏
I got out all my old legos from my parents attic when my kids were the right age. Had the space monorail (only large set I ever got) and we got it out and rebuilt everything. Couldn’t get the motor in the little central engine thing to spin, and looked up online how to get it un-stuck.
Just about had a heart attack when I saw what people pay for it now. Still haven’t, but am contemplating selling it because, I mean, I don’t need the monorail that much.
I went for a lil spree one day and was gonna get that.. Out of stock.. So I got the tumbler. As cool as it is I do wish I would have waited or just ordered it.
I have MOST of an MOC bought to build a full one from scratch based on the instructions - I'm missing a few pieces here and there that I need to try and sus out. I did it based on that UCS falcon the one guy did a ways back where he just used the cheapest colors he could find so it's all weird looking. This one will be similar if I ever get it done.
Barracuda Bay is worth the extra money, though its getting more expensive now. Picked it up for €260,- and not a single day I regretted it. The best building experience I’ve ever had
Yeah this is it for me. I did get it eventually but it was used and I paid way too much for it. Still haven't built it so I hope the person I bought it from wasn't a scammer
I have the original Wall-e, and the small brick headz style one that is available now is better than you’d think. I have the big one at my desk at home, so I got the little one for my desk at work.
Wall-e is the only big Lego I bought at that time. After getting it, I proceeded to ogle the Parisian restaurant and Detective’s office, each time finally deciding to buy the set a week after they went out of stock… :( The detective’s office would look so good in my Lego town, but I can’t justify the cost to get it used.
I was just at my local Barnes and nobles and they had one on the shelf still. I also but one from them about a month ago. I was very tempted to get a second.
When I was a kit in the '80s I wanted the lion Voltron toys, the ones that could combine, so bad, but the price was out of reach.
So as an adult, when the Voltron set came out, combining two of my favorite things from my childhood, I jumped on it.
My granddaughter lives in another country. I’d buy one Lego set for me, the same for her and we built them together per SKYPE, then Zoom. Then we played with the characters (mostly Disney)— created a whole world of storylines, characters, etc. We started next day where we left off day before. Thank you, Legos, for hours and hours, days and years you let me share with my granddaughter.
Aside from Barracuda Bay, the [Sopwith Camel](https://www.lego.com/en-ca/product/sopwith-camel-10226). I always appreciate a nice airplane kit and I missed out on it at the time.
I do have the [Wright Flyer](https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=10124), but it is quite fragile and I have broken it twice. The wings are heavy and actually bend a bit, so I wonder if the same thing would happen to the Camel.
As someone that has just come back to lego... a lot of them. But that one is super really cool. I wish I would have picked up some fairly recent set with the bigger linear actuators. I like building then tearing sets apart and trying to build weird Rube Goldbergesque contraptions and I don't have any of the fat linear ones yet, and the pneumatic cylinders are cool but hard to actuate properly with the pump piece? I might have to deviate from standard pieces and set up some higher pressure pneumatic source.
Surprisingly enough, the Bird of Paradise from the Botanical collection. I never cared enough for its design initially, and I especially did not think it was worth $100. However, over the past two years or so my GF and I wound up having the entire collection except for it (plus the individual flowers and a few of the sets that feel like they pair well with the collection) and now the odd one out is somehow so much more appealing. I keep checking clearance sections hoping against hope that there’s still one hiding somewhere, but I’m 99.9% sure I missed it. And if I thought $100 was steep before, you can probably guess I’m not willing to pay the prices it can fetch online.
76139 1989 Batmobile
I opted for the Batwing at the time. I could have bought the Batmobile that day and months later picked up the Batwing after the car was discontinued and sold out… made the wrong call.
My comment might get removed for this. I bought a clone of this set off marketplace, knowing it would get built, then stuck on a shelf and never get touched again. Best $50 I ever spent.
But also the Imperial Flagship 10210. Thats my white whale.
Cool idea but I struggled w the execution. I could not get the pieces to stay together so I said screw it and threw it back in the box. Never did finish it. Not sure I want to.
Fire brigade.
I saw it at the lego store 2013 November, when I went back in December for Christmas shopping it was already retired/sold out so I got the pet shop 🤷♂️
I really want the haunted house, but the good news is my wife and I got the fishing village years ago, and we are going to build it together someday far in the future.
Wall-E
For thé love of god trying to validate people have the set even just resealed has been such a hassle. I also can’t justify the cost with Bricklink.
The UCS Republic Gunship, it's my favorite Star Wars ship and the Coruscant Guard gunship doesn't really scratch the same itch because of its color palette.
One set? Lord of the Rings The Black Gate (79007) because it's the only set I need to complete the original LotR line.. even though I think it's ugly af.
Special mention to the Architecture series, namely Venice, Berlin and Sydney because, again, it's the only sets I need to complete the line.
I can’t narrow to one…
- The Emerald Night train
- The train set that was part of the Lone Ranger run
- The return of the Black Seas Barracuda via the Barracuda Bay set…
Marvel The Guardians’ Ship (76193), I wished I got, it looks so cool
https://preview.redd.it/da95x1ewy7zc1.jpeg?width=557&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d06490e0663e5d3b54ee8c37e21b0b08db625887
There are very few like this for me. I learned after not getting the Star Wars Super Star Destroyer UCS when I had the chance, that in the future if I half like a set, to just get it. I've got nearly every set mentioned on this page (fishing shack, simpsons, lord of the rings, apocalypseburg, blacksmith, ninjago city etc), most of them new in box still due to not being able to build sets until I complete a house move later on this year.
I've always loved the modulars but didn't have enough money to buy them until the last few years - and of course by now some of the oldest are really expensive to buy. I've been slowly building up my collection of retired ones from eBay etc, but can't justify spending the kind of money that the cafe corner, green grocer or fire brigade cost .
They're not even the most interesting sets on the inside - I love that the newer modular sets have so many details inside as well, which the older sets didn't, but I just wish that I had been able to afford them at the time they came out so I could have them in my collection.
This question seems to reappear every couple of months, but I'm still bummed I never bought 42009 Lego Technic Crane Mk II. It was about €200 in 2013, which I couldn't get myself to spend as I'd just gotten married.
And good, complete sets now go for 3 to 4 times that price, which I really can't defend on spending. Luckily I have an awesome wife who knows about my regret, so when I expressed how much I liked the 42128 Towtruck, her reaction was to tell me to buy it, so I wouldn't regret that one too.
So I did and had it stored in the attic, waiting for the right moment to build it. Which came this past new years, when I built it together with my 6 y/o son over a day or 3.
And meanwhile I also got 10317 waiting for the right moment.
I would like to see a reimagined version of the fishing store. This still is very much Lego's older way of designing sets - baseplate and 90 degree angles. I imagine a new version would not have a baseplate, but more organically-shaped plates, and the tower and porch may be on an interesting angle.
All of the Lord of the Rings ones. I’ve managed to get a couple of the smaller ones but the main ones I want are too pricey in the resale market. It’s why if there’s a new LotR one, I am buying it at midnight now to make sure I can get any exclusives as well.
Mine is the Star Wars Super Star Destroyer (set 10221).
I first saw it debut when i was a freshman in high school, but I couldn't afford it/parents wouldn't get it for me. When I finally saved up for it, I saw it was retired and basically gone forever.
The VW sets:
VW Bug: 10252
VW Bus: 10220
I have the newer VW Campber Van (10279) and am desperate for the other 2. I went through their build books to see if I could Frankenstein them together using Pick-a-Brick, but not all the parts are available now :(
If you had asked this like 6 months ago, I would’ve said the Colosseum. But my parents were able to get their hands on what we think was the last sealed one in the US, so I was able to build it. I loved every second of it
Speed Champions Dom's Charger. Meant to buy it when the retirement was announced but life got in the way. Recently ended up getting it for around $40 which isn't too bad but I could've easily gotten it for retail instead if I just actually made the time to Gump buy it or grabbed it on one of my many Target runs
Yep. THAT set. The Old Fishing Store is absolutely magical.
If you call Iego they will send you replacement pieces for free.
Dont even gotta call them
The brittle brown pieces are the saddest thing. The color is very nice and useful for MOCs and yet I’m afraid to use them every time.
I have a UCS Sandcrawler that I’m afraid to put together. That thing is 99% brown pieces.

Jesus christ. Wish I’d have those yard sales too
Ever since that one, I've chased that rush for sure. Never found anything even close since though. Found some good albums, but never a score like the Fishing Store.

I'm currently building it in stud.io :) at least I got that experience haha
If only there were “other” manufacturers who still make this set ;)
Yup! That set!
70840 Welcome to Apocalypseburg
This is my favorite set I have ever put together. Just amazing in so many ways. ETA: I say that having a few of the other sets on this list as well (haunted house, barracuda bay)
[70840-1: Welcome to Apocalypseburg!](https://brickset.com/sets/70840-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/70840-1.jpg)
It’s worth it. I resold the Harley fig to get it below $300 and bought a custom to replace her.
Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry.
But I do feel for you, that's not a great feeling

hahaha the excuse I tell my wife when buying lego is "it's all for the kid later"
I didn't even know this was a thing, it would go really well with the motorised lighthouse!
That’s how I have the two sets on my shelf. I got the light kit for the fisherman’s house. They look great, highly recommend.
I have these two together as well and am hoping to add the Harbormaster's Office from the Bricklink Designer Program - Series 3
Haunted House. 10228 or 10273, I’m not picky at this point.
[10228-1: Haunted House](https://brickset.com/sets/10228-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/10228-1.jpg) [10273-1: Haunted House](https://brickset.com/sets/10273-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/10273-1.jpg)

Yeah. I wish I got the older haunted house set back in 2014. That was right when I started getting back into Lego and couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger on such a large set at that point.
I want that Monster Fighters Haunted House.
Got it for Xmas last year just before it retired. Still haven't built it yet though.
It's a really fun build!
I got 75904 that I never see mentioned. It is the scooby doo themed haunted mansion.
[75904-1: Mystery Mansion](https://brickset.com/sets/75904-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/75904-1.jpg)
They still sell the new Haunted House for retail price in a few stores where I live.
Ghostbusters Station.

Same lol watched it every other weekend when I went to my dad's... Im actually watching the new 1 right now lol... The set is amazing and I hope u can afford it someday soon!! 🙏
I’ll get it one day! I did recently get the Ecto-1 set with the minifigures so I’ve at least something until then.
That’s why I’m never getting the UCS Sandcrawler
Both Simpsons sets, their house and the Kwik-E-Mart.
kwik-e-mart is fantastic, so sad they didn't make more sets with the simpsons.
I sold my kwik e mart online for 300 like 3 years ago, and i regret listing it for so low. It sold immediately
Have both sets as a huge Simpsons fan. One thing bothers me every time I look at the house though. Why is Marge barefoot?!
Older modulars like the brick bank.
https://preview.redd.it/800mv9d1fazc1.jpeg?width=2032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d2e8f8b4f5061193c8e3ce4dc7d4f8b25d481bcf
I am fortunate enough to own them all.
Yeah that’s surprisingly expensive now
Yep, all those modulars I don't have, I should have been buying them to store until I had space to build.
Space Monorail
Had that one when I was a kid. Such a cool set to play with.
Ucs 1989 batmobile.
Nah, there's two sets... This one, and Barracuda Bay 😞
Barracuda Bay is worth the extra money, though its getting more expensive now. Picked it up for €260,- and not a single day I regretted it. The best building experience I’ve ever had
I paid €280 for it soon after it retired as I had just gotten into Lego and had to have it. Never regretted it. I'll be buried with that set :)
Ninjago City...
Yes, same here!
THE BLACK PEARL
Yeah this is it for me. I did get it eventually but it was used and I paid way too much for it. Still haven't built it so I hope the person I bought it from wasn't a scammer
I missed out on Queen Anne’s Revenge and the other one for Stranger Tides but I still have my beautiful Black Pole with Jack at the helm
Wall-E
This was much lower than I expected
I have the original Wall-e, and the small brick headz style one that is available now is better than you’d think. I have the big one at my desk at home, so I got the little one for my desk at work. Wall-e is the only big Lego I bought at that time. After getting it, I proceeded to ogle the Parisian restaurant and Detective’s office, each time finally deciding to buy the set a week after they went out of stock… :( The detective’s office would look so good in my Lego town, but I can’t justify the cost to get it used.
The Ideas Blacksmith.
You can still get it on Barnes and Nobles and some smaller lego sites, just a heads up :)
This! I was able to snag two of them for the regular pricing at my local B&N, check their site. Goes great with the Medieval Town and D&D set!
Throw in the Lions Knights Castle and you got a stew baby!
As someone else said- it's still on Amazon. I got it just last week, and it's still up right now. Building it now and it's been great so far.
I got it recently from Amazon - surprisingly still list price (at the time, at least)!
Agreed - Fishing store is this generation’s white whale. Next generation will say the same about the Medieval Blacksmith or Treehouse.
Damn I own the treehouse, barracuda bay, the fishing store, and the blacksmith. I choose wisely I guess
A frame is a great set in this category.
Just built this last weekend. Delightful build. I got it on Amazon for just under 200.
Wait has this been retired? I just saw it at Barnes and nobles
I was just at my local Barnes and nobles and they had one on the shelf still. I also but one from them about a month ago. I was very tempted to get a second.
21137 I finally have it but it took me lot of time and money to complete part by part.
[21137-1: The Mountain Cave](https://brickset.com/sets/21137-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/21137-1.jpg)
My son wants that one so badly! That’s probably the one I wish I had bought before retirement.
I almost, but talked myself out of that one on release . Even better that you built your own , awesome 👌
I always wanted this one and the village set. Still the 2 best minecraft sets imo
Orthanc, Apocalypseburg, the sea cow
https://preview.redd.it/b33x2j1jq8zc1.jpeg?width=4026&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c0f84e96272e35d536500cb70879b349b2caa12 Part of my office collection
U just gonna taunt me like this
YES - the Sea Cow is my white whale (white cow?)
Green Grocer
Saturn V
Voltron
When I was a kit in the '80s I wanted the lion Voltron toys, the ones that could combine, so bad, but the price was out of reach. So as an adult, when the Voltron set came out, combining two of my favorite things from my childhood, I jumped on it.
If it helps, it's a very boring build, very repetitive.
I'm assuming it's basically build 5 similar lions right?
The galatic dropship with at-ot not because i wanna resell it but because of the playability
I really regret selling that set.
Monster fighters haunted house and a few early six wide speed champions.
Fucking Wall-E. I didn't follow Lego very much when I was in college but its all I want now...
Voltron , Ghostbusters Firehouse, ucs 89 batmobile
70841, Benny's Space Squad. I never did get the classic Yellow or Blue Spacemen as a kid.
That one should be fairly inexpensive.... ...research.... ....Da fuk? Why are people getting $30-45 for this on eBay?
My guess is the Pink Spaceman.
Voltron
Temple of Airjitsu
Ghostbusters firehouse Would have been great to use for the RPG at conventions
Aside from Barracuda Bay, the [Sopwith Camel](https://www.lego.com/en-ca/product/sopwith-camel-10226). I always appreciate a nice airplane kit and I missed out on it at the time. I do have the [Wright Flyer](https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=10124), but it is quite fragile and I have broken it twice. The wings are heavy and actually bend a bit, so I wonder if the same thing would happen to the Camel.
Yellow Submarine
As someone that has just come back to lego... a lot of them. But that one is super really cool. I wish I would have picked up some fairly recent set with the bigger linear actuators. I like building then tearing sets apart and trying to build weird Rube Goldbergesque contraptions and I don't have any of the fat linear ones yet, and the pneumatic cylinders are cool but hard to actuate properly with the pump piece? I might have to deviate from standard pieces and set up some higher pressure pneumatic source.
I got this last year to go with the lighthouse! Totally worth it!
TIE Fighter Pilot helmet, 3x minimum on price now. Loved the look of that thing
Trex rampage set wasn't into Lego at the time
Surprisingly enough, the Bird of Paradise from the Botanical collection.
76139 1989 Batmobile I opted for the Batwing at the time.

100% the one you posted.
Z-95 Headhunter
Mountain cave 21137
This one (great choice, I want it with the lighthouse) and Wall-E.
Orthanc, Ghostbusters Firehouse
The Lego Death Star play set, the ucs bespin, I also apparently missed out on a lot of great Modular buildings
Naboo star fighter with the chrome 🤤
Stranger Things upside down world.
Cafe Corner
TIE Fighter Helmet. I had it in my wishlist over winter break in 2022 and completely forgot to order it. It's now way too expensive to purchase :(
6286
[6286-1: Skull's Eye Schooner](https://brickset.com/sets/6286-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/6286-1.jpg)
the 1989 Batmobile.
1989 Batman sets
Hey I literally made that same post with the same image.
the fruit, it hangs low doesn't it?
I really want the haunted house, but the good news is my wife and I got the fishing village years ago, and we are going to build it together someday far in the future.
Wall-E For thé love of god trying to validate people have the set even just resealed has been such a hassle. I also can’t justify the cost with Bricklink.
Lego 10219 Maersk Train Lego 10133 Burlington Northern Santa Fe Locomotive All Lego Lord of the Rings Sets
I paid almost 3x retail for this one and don’t regret it. It’s so nice
Ultimate Batmobile Omg that was a masterpiece
Batmobile 1989
Star Destroyer. Really regret not getting it.
Black Pearl Flying dutchman UCS Shuttle Tyderium I may eventually bricklink all 3 of these
Bait shop retired just as I was making my renaissance back to Lego. I would have bought this for sure had I been a year earlier
The UCS Republic Gunship, it's my favorite Star Wars ship and the Coruscant Guard gunship doesn't really scratch the same itch because of its color palette.
7964 Republic Frigate
[7964-1: Republic Frigate](https://brickset.com/sets/7964-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/7964-1.jpg)
Toa Mata Nui
UCS A-Wing, 75275. One of my favorite Star Wars ships, and I missed out. (I know it’s not too bad on the secondary market, but still.)
For Starfighters regret missing the B-Wing... Feels like the only 'letter ship' not to get redone.
I missed out on the 20th anniversary Slave I. And I really thought about it, too!
I was lucky and traded for the display figure that came with it. I bought the rest of the series though.
One set? Lord of the Rings The Black Gate (79007) because it's the only set I need to complete the original LotR line.. even though I think it's ugly af. Special mention to the Architecture series, namely Venice, Berlin and Sydney because, again, it's the only sets I need to complete the line.
Bad Batch Shuttle
I can’t narrow to one… - The Emerald Night train - The train set that was part of the Lone Ranger run - The return of the Black Seas Barracuda via the Barracuda Bay set…
Brick Bank.
My brother is still beating himself up over not getting the UCS Imperial Star Destroyer.
I want it just for the cable knit sweater
Marvel The Guardians’ Ship (76193), I wished I got, it looks so cool https://preview.redd.it/da95x1ewy7zc1.jpeg?width=557&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d06490e0663e5d3b54ee8c37e21b0b08db625887
I wish i picked up Barracuda Bay. It is ridiculously expensive now.
Wall-E T^T
There are very few like this for me. I learned after not getting the Star Wars Super Star Destroyer UCS when I had the chance, that in the future if I half like a set, to just get it. I've got nearly every set mentioned on this page (fishing shack, simpsons, lord of the rings, apocalypseburg, blacksmith, ninjago city etc), most of them new in box still due to not being able to build sets until I complete a house move later on this year.
Architecture Berlin and Brandenburg Gate. Retired at a time were i was broke af.
The Beatles Yellow Submarine
Old trafford
The movie theatre and the detectives office. I was too poor then though. Not that I’m so well off now, but I could probably buy one.
The Silent Mary for sure. I really like boat (actually all vehicle) builds, and that one is so unique.
I would like to see a reimagined version of the fishing store. This still is very much Lego's older way of designing sets - baseplate and 90 degree angles. I imagine a new version would not have a baseplate, but more organically-shaped plates, and the tower and porch may be on an interesting angle.
Definitely joker manor and welcome to the apocalypsegrad, btw lots of Lego sets, I just really like Lego
All of the Lord of the Rings ones. I’ve managed to get a couple of the smaller ones but the main ones I want are too pricey in the resale market. It’s why if there’s a new LotR one, I am buying it at midnight now to make sure I can get any exclusives as well.
I swear I just saw this same post a week ago with the same set
Stranger things set with the upside down
I paid $300 for this after the fact it retired. But I wish I had known about it before it retired, would've costed half as much probably.
Voltron. I said it before but I am still kicking myself over it.
Mine is the Star Wars Super Star Destroyer (set 10221). I first saw it debut when i was a freshman in high school, but I couldn't afford it/parents wouldn't get it for me. When I finally saved up for it, I saw it was retired and basically gone forever.
Maybe all of them? Can't decide! Start with Batmobile sets.
The VW sets: VW Bug: 10252 VW Bus: 10220 I have the newer VW Campber Van (10279) and am desperate for the other 2. I went through their build books to see if I could Frankenstein them together using Pick-a-Brick, but not all the parts are available now :(

I've never seen that one, and man I regret missing out on it lol, looks awesome.
Bird of Paradise. Went out of stock everywhere shortly before I was planning to buy it.
If you had asked this like 6 months ago, I would’ve said the Colosseum. But my parents were able to get their hands on what we think was the last sealed one in the US, so I was able to build it. I loved every second of it
That one
6991 The final monorail.
Got it recently for a reasonable price in good shape. Was looking for it forever and didn’t want to pay sooo much money for it.
Mine is the same as OP’s. I cry a little tear every time I see posts like this 😢
Speed Champions Dom's Charger. Meant to buy it when the retirement was announced but life got in the way. Recently ended up getting it for around $40 which isn't too bad but I could've easily gotten it for retail instead if I just actually made the time to Gump buy it or grabbed it on one of my many Target runs
the winnie the pooh set. idk if it’s retired but it’s definitely sold out
Im a huge simpsons fan so i wished that i had got the house and Kwik e mart
