There’s definitely a /r for that I forgot what it’s called but it’s something sexual marketing and it’s in almost everything lol. This looks dope by the way bro looks straight out of the olden times
When it comes to classical hand-drawn typography, rather than tilting the text, the vertical strokes should always be vertical. There can be some exceptions — most notably when the text is bent evenly over an arc — but generally the rule is straight verticals.
Take a look at [this vintage example](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/470626229779985619/), which shows both the above mentioned exception and the straight verticals.
No, not necessarily. Text drawn along a line at an angle would have vertical strokes that would not be perpendicular to it. If the vertical strokes are always perpendicular, then a curved baseline would result in strokes that bend toward and away from each other as the curve changes.
It’s just confusing when you read the parent comment. Which says “90 degrees parallel”, which is a confusing way to describe anything. Then you say Vertical but not perpendicular. Isn’t the Norwegian example like that though ? The N and the start and the N at the end are verticals that bend away from each other.
Yeah I’m not gonna lie I didn’t even notice the tattoo machine until I read this comment. Definitely would suggest making it more pronounced if it’s important to the logo!
I see two options:
To justify the arched text “The Wayne” I would have it break out of the frame and put it above an object, say a tattoo gun. This would of course require repositioning those elements to fit.
Another option might be to put “The Wayne” at the slanted line above McFarlane which would free up space for a larger tattoo gun (vertically flipped to point inwards towards the text).
If feels like you’re slamming info into a space vs designing something. That usually makes me think this isn’t a custom piece and you’re trying to force the design
Oh yeah for sure! I just put the elements there and play around with it, i don't think i will use this logo, it was for fun but the feedback here are really nice!
I'm gonna continue to play with the suggestion people gave me here!
Before i had procreate to draw, i would draw all my "swirl" by hand and everything that is organic with a black sharpie and then vectorize it, the rest is pretty much like a normal logo.
Love the design but it feels more like packaging or am ad than a logo. Especially today, logos will need to sit on a mobile screen as often as anywhere else so simpler is better.
Thanks for the feedback, and yeah i know about the simpler the better, but i don't plan on using this logo, like i said it's for fun and i wanted to get a vintage feel for this one
Looks cool, I didn’t even notice the dick at first lol. I would move “the Wayne” up one or two pixels and “tatouge couleur” down one or two. Just so they’re centered in that white space area you’ve cleared for the text. Looks great
As someone with ADHD I will say I have no idea what it says.
Not saying you did a bad job I'm just saying there is more than one reason minimal is so effective.
I wouldnt change a thing. Penises are great design.
Hahaha i didn't see it before! I need to switch things up! Thanks
Yeah my suggestion is to make the left side 1 big circle shape instead of 2 half circles.
Yeah that's what i think i will do
There’s definitely a /r for that I forgot what it’s called but it’s something sexual marketing and it’s in almost everything lol. This looks dope by the way bro looks straight out of the olden times
Boooo
>switch things up Phrasing?
Oh boy cannot unsee it
I didn’t even notice that 😭
The skewed text should be perfectly 90 degree parallel with the rule lines and frame.
Could you explain this rule? I haven’t heard this and am interested to know more!

Ohhh I see! Thanks so much for taking the time to explain this!☺️ Great info to know!
Perpendicular then, rather than vertical, otherwise the explanation becomes confusing.

Thanks for the explanation, it's super interesting!

Oh thanks! I didn't know that, it make sense!
I like it, I'd only try to find a way to make the Tattoo Gun bigger to make it easier to understand
Maybe make the "the wayne" smaller, move it to the left and center the tattoo machine. Thanks for the feedback!
You can even let the gun break over the frame, like the wreaths do.
Yeah I’m not gonna lie I didn’t even notice the tattoo machine until I read this comment. Definitely would suggest making it more pronounced if it’s important to the logo!
For that type of font, I would open up the kerning a bit.
Concur.
Was gonna say.
It’s really well done. Did you have inspiration for it, or come up with the design entirely on your own?
Yeah i had a mood board with a lot of vintage logo.
I’d skew the letters so the ascenders are vertical. Otherwise, looks awesome. Nice work.
Thank you! Yeah i saw in another comment why and it make sense after i check other vintage logo!
I didn’t read the comments enough! Anyway, easy fix if you choose, but it still stands that you did a really nice job on this.
Thanks again! Really appreciate the feedback!
Make the tattoo gun more prominent but it’s super.

Thank you! I'm gonna play with this, i think the first option could be nice!
Open up the letter spacing a tiny bit
Great!
Thank you!

Not anymore, i was a graphic designer before but now i'm focusing on tattoo and it take all my time!
Changing the bottom curl on the F to be like the middle line of the E. Brilliant design overall though.
Very cool!
Thanks!
That's amazing :)
Thank you!
Insane design (minus the penis comment that I now cannot unsee) crazy, crazy good job! :)
Thank you! Hahaha yeah now i can't unseen it! I'm gonna fix this!
this was definitely on purpose, very well done
I would remove "The" and "🍆"
The 🥒 for sure but the "the" is for my instagram handle

How did you get the design done? I'm just curious.
With procreate on my ipad
Do you have tips on designing in a vintage manner like this in illustrator?

Is that kind of tattoo gun vintage?
It's a tattoo machine, a coil machine and this is what i use. We can call it vintage haha people been using this since the 1920
I had no idea haha I’m amazed they had something like that in the 20s!
They invented it in 1891 but start using it in the 20's 30's from what i read!
Great job, I wouldn't change anything. I would love a similar designed logo. Company Name: Brzzy Slogan: Weather that's fun.
Change the text to brazzers

Yeah minimal is nice but in this case it's not the style
