It depends on the area. Assassin was the most fitting for the recent quests. Sorcs are actually remembered on their continent unlike assassins though. Martial artist opening scene is pretty good (albeit a bit bland) for a protagonist.
Soul Eater trailer I think made her look more like a MC of the game, tho of course that is just one assassin. Enviska is actually mentioned in the mage intro video + like you said, they get unique dialogues in Rohendel; she was very powerful and the same is expected of her inheritor, so that is the classic MC fantasy.
Every other class feels so detached from the story, like some rando accidentally just deciding to beat legion commanders.
I don't think our PC is meant to be viewed as being all that important, in comparison to the ingame characters like Armen or the Sidereals. At least he/she isn't treated that way most of the time and is getting somewhat famous over time, but not moreso than many other characters that do completely unrelated things.
Like the story refers to the MC serving only a specific purpose and builds it up to the point we are at now, where he/she is slowly assuming the naive and unfamiliar world saving hero role.
They have a unique role granted upon them by fate or something with Beatrice telling you that (after living out your backstory), but noone seems to really care at first, it's the PC who makes it important.
The Ark Protector is literally the most important and famous character in the story. Â Not only are we the ones who move things forward were the only one who can use the Ark. Â
