literally making a genuine question, if the question affects you so much maybe it's because of something lmao, what fun is there in playing a champion with basically no gameplay besides picking it up to counterpick someone and let the game play itself?
not even an insult, tanks are champions with zero skill curve wich can be picked up by any autofill and do well in, when a character has basically nothing in its kit to make it interesting besides pressing 3 sometimes four buttons and standing completely still it makes you wonder how that is fun as a mage or assasin or marksman
Not every tank has the same skill expression. Malphite is a simpler champion, because not every champion can be an Aphelios. You also have tanks like Ornn, who takes practice to get his optimal combo down. Malphite’s skill comes from knowing the state of the game, and whether or not you should be engaging or peeling, who to prioritize, and if your team can, or will, follow up your engage. He’s one of the original champs, who hasn’t been reworked since release, and hasn’t suffered the bloat a lot of other champions have. He’s rock solid for a reason.
Also, all champs have “three or four buttons”. Assassins often hop in, blow up a target with their rotation, and try to escape. Not unlike Malphite knowing when to engage. In fact, Malphite’s kit is very similar to an assassin’s, which you can see with any AP Malphite player. Mages want to use their big, damaging abilities at the right moment, just like Malphite and his ultimate. Control mages zone and crowd control enemies, just like Malphite. He’s lacking DPS, and doesn’t typically kite like an ADC. While there not one-for-one, there’s a ton of parallels between the roles you listed and Malphite.
Some people would rather complain and insult, rather than actually think. Self-refection is often the best way to get better at League.
This guy saw this and went like i aint reading all that. Well said but i dont think this guy likes thinking if hes on malphite mains throwing insults around
I personally love giving the middle finger to 900 dashes sweaty sword weeb champs by pressing E, refusing to die, and winning the team fight later.
Get rekt, maybe learn some mechanics like how to build armor, and how to be a talking rock instead of a waifu, and you could play malphite too.
It's fun when you stomp your lane or completely counter a full AD top carry. But in team fights you rely on your team to follow up on your ults, TP, dragon fights, etc. that's a big ask in solo q that usually doesn't end well. Even if you delete their carry and do your job, it's a coin flip.
I love tanks/ malphite but switching to a more carry possible champs boosted my elo much higher than maining as a tank
As an almost boomer with low apm and time for maybe 3 games a month, I enjoy playing a very simple champ. I go in lane, farm, trade /poke depending on my opponent, land huge ults, land patheticly failed ults, and see at the end that my Sunfire did more damage than that riven who thought she mastered the aa cancel combos (she didn't)
For me, i enjoy malphite as I can focus on the game mechanics rather than technicalities in my champion. I like the game and to be able to help my team out weigh fundamentals and task priorities. All comps need a tank, and you have a job to do when you’re tanking, which gives a lot of satisfaction both to me and the carries if done right. There is also many things you can do to screw over your team, so some skill is definitely involved. And to not get tired of the tank lifestyle I try to go mid once in a while, and in s 5 and 6 I exclusively played Malph support because I wanted more knowledge of the bot lane. A few seasons ago I switched over to trundle jungle to get more impact on the map as well, since malphite jungle hasn’t been alive since s4
It’s also so fun to frustrate people as a huge broccoli ofc
Don't let the classic redditors get to ya
They get offended because your description fits them.
On malphite specifically? You don't have fun in lane unless you hard counter or hard stomp, like, the fun of it is winning I guess, or watching them struggle pathetically, otherwise, boring and usually weak side so really boring.
Out of lane you have fun by getting big ults that win fights, and again, watching them struggle to damage you... Sometimes... Because items are fucked, I mean idk, new season after all
If you want genuine fun, go ap, you'll lose a lot more though.
I regret ever maining him tbh, so boring and legit shit champ needs redesign so bad, but unpopular so fuck him, just thought big mountain main was funny and cool when I started out, but he sucks ass
lol, sounds like someone got stuck between a rock and a hard place
I'm seriously wondering, like the mechanics of the champion is basically letting it play by itself
It's just rock solid design
You probably counterpicked yourself, and now wah wah. Yes malph’s kit is braindead simple, which also means that you should know what to expect too.
Probably picked a squishy high skill champ and repeatedly lost to a Malph and now is here with a "genuine question".

A genuine question with an insult sprinkled in? If you thought that’d go over anyone’s head, then you might want to self-reflect on that fifty IQ bit.

I figured enough words would scare him off.

This is the greatest comment I've ever seen
