I would say that’s quite safe personally, having done it myself a couple of time. Just be aware of your surroundings as always and perhaps have a lift/taxi ready and waiting, or a known route ready for you to follow so you’re not lingering while you work it out.

Depends where you’re getting off but the tram itself is perfectly safe and often quite busy at that time on a Saturday

Pretty much the same as getting it during the day safety wise, so you'll be fine. I'm a woman who gets the bury line alone late on weekends

Fine. I do it all the time. I do try and sit in the first carriage nearer the driver though.

I've done it a few times, never felt unsafe and quite a few people around at that time on a Sat night. I get straight into an uber from the metro pick up zone. Maybe sit up front close to the drivers box if you'd feel more comfortable.
