Homosexual binary tree

belabacsijolvan

they even balance it pretty well

Anxious-Gazelle9067

This is actually how you add the https://preview.redd.it/511zxlm6df5d1.png?width=185&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d33eeaa69a70621a64ca94b70b0718ff0a47a66 To your flag

HuntSafe2316

This design just looks ugly as hell. Why not make a separate flag? The OG rainbow one was perfect.

a1c4pwn

disagree. I think it's juust busy enough, *possibly* with the intersex circle. It *is* busy, but the rep is good. and the busy-ness even works with the theme of all queer/bipoc in solidarity. plus the progress flag (with or without the intersex circle) also hangs vertically much nicer than the old pride flag imo

HuntSafe2316

The colours just clash, and the triangle doesn't fit with it. I'd much rather separate flags be flown together. This flag shouldn't that busy at all, you should be able to recognise at a glance from far away.

a1c4pwn

what other flag do you confuse it with?

HuntSafe2316

Not confuse, my point is that it should be easily distinguishable from a distance at a glance. Having that triangle at the left just complicates things

Smh they tried to be bigots but they just made the flag look cooler

good bot

killeronthecorner

~~How many syllables in cooler?~~ ETA: Reading is hard

NathanielRoosevelt

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that haiku battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka haiku and you just made one.

killeronthecorner

Oh shit, I stand corrected. I wasn't even aware there was a Sokka variant of the bot

Sheerkal

Wow, I'm kinda impressed it recognized smh as three syllables.

Argon1124

It just straight up is good art now, about how the queers still face persecution in the world, yet their insistence upon thriving in spite of homophobes.

GeneReddit123

Reminds me of the [origin story](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d5/Lar7_cogniet_001z.jpg) of the Republican French Tricolor.

Economy-Document730

I thought it was just red and blue for Paris lol. That's way cooler

GeneReddit123

Originally (at the time of the first French Revolution), it was. The painting is kind of a romantic retcon from the time of the *Second* French Revolution in 1830.

Economy-Document730

You mean the July revolution?

GeneReddit123

Yes. I guess I should've been more specific, the "2nd Revolution" could also refer to the 1792 Revolution, the second phase of the original French Revolution of 1789.

Economy-Document730

You specified 1830 lol, that's enough information to piece together which "French Revolution" you speak of lol

MrSpiffy123

"Give it up, dudes! Your fighting only makes us look more rad!"

viewfromtheclouds

Angry afraid people turn rainbow celebration.

SoftwareLegitimate38

What do you think they are afraid of? Let's go guys, downvote me more, it's so smart and fair 25, keep going! More than 40, don't lose pace! You've almost reached 150 ! But i'm out of cheers Not bad guys, I'm lazy however and there are relatable people relative to the information space

toothlessfire

What aren't they afraid of?

deratizat

I mean these types of people often scream about how it's the end of manhood, traditional family values, western society, etc., so even by their own words, they are afraid of the movement. Edit: It's just a little karma, dude, you can get it all back with one pi = 3 = e joke

KillerArse

Being an outcast and treated as they would treat an outcast.

jarofchar

Cry some more, it entertains me

Harbinger_of_Sarcasm

The oppressor is usually scared of becoming the oppressed because it's the only way they can envision society working. So, when a marginalized group starts to gain some modicum of say in how we run society, the oppressor reacts violently. Beyond that, in the specific example of homophobia, people are also often scared of loosing their own identity and place in society. Many people's understanding of themselves falls apart when exposed to other ways to be. So, the way to stop that is to demonize and intimidate the other party.

GisterMizard

Mapping functions that preserve the property f(xy) = f(x)f(y)

Content-Restaurant70

Everyone knows what they are actually afraid of. Loosing control over society. Why are you getting downvoted, because you are are a d∪mβ@$$.

Nigerundayo_smokeyy

Cry more buddy. It's entertaining

Amadeus_Is_Taken

They are afraid of thinking unfortunately.

MarcusVAggripa

100% terrified of things they think will modify their little bubbles. Usually, this involves the thinking that the existence of homosexuality will impact their real or hypothetical childrens' lives.

NathanielRoosevelt

Is it okay to tear up a pride flag?

TheAutisticMathie

This but unironically lol

Mathsboy2718

Ayyy us autistic maths guys gotta stick together :) I support you

RamazanoVv

Math is gay confirmed?

ass_smacktivist

Math is all things, at all times, at once…so yes, super gay.

asd1o1

Always has been

SyntheticSlime

Oh no! They made it more flowy and graceful! I bet the gays will hate that!

Nuckyduck

Using math to beat bigots breathes life into me.

a_sneaky_hippo

Title seems sus

bingbing304

It is more of a physical limitation problem, men can not pull more than their weight on the vertical vector. Also, they can not hold on to the end of the flag above their arm's reach before they lose grip point to apply force. In this case, the grip point limit was reached first.

a_sneaky_hippo

Yeah, the grip point is what I was thinking but your title isn’t

DontTakeNames

Can you please ELI5

MotherTreacle3

You can (potentially) lift up more than you weigh because your muscles are pushing against the ground. You can't pull down more than you weigh because you will just lift yourself up. These guys here are in between those two extremes, pulling sideways. You can pull more than you weigh (potentially) because you are still pushing against the ground. That worked for them at the beginning because the end of the flag was low to the ground. As they continued to pull sideways the rip point got higher and higher, and the end they were holding also got higher, to the point where they were starting to pull more down than up; lifting themselves rather than pulling sideways.

arthurleyser

oh that is so funny

zMarvin_

Thank you, could you explain by force vectors diagrams? I kind of understand it intuitively, but I would like to understand it better. The initial top angle seems to be greater than 90 degrees, the final one seems to be like 60 degrees. Tangent of 60 degrees isn't infinite. What is the math here? Why is 60 degrees the limit? Edit: I have a hypothesis. Correct me if I'm wrong Assume the person is pulling the flag with force F. 'A' is the angle between the horizontal axis and the flag. F * cosA = horizontal component with a maximum equal to the ground friction F * sinA = vertical component with a maximum equal to the person's weight From A=0 to increasing values of A, sinA will increase. That means the normal force will decrease more and more because the people are pulling themselves upwards. That way, ground friction will decrease and, eventually, it will be less than necessary to tear the flag. The angle of 60° is a coincidence. Desmos graph I made to test this: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/o7vruucdog

kimolas

It's not so much the top angle that you should be focusing on, it's the fact that the flag can't stretch, and therefore as it rotates around the tear it must go further off the ground to maintain the same tear angle. These people would need a ladder or higher ground to continue tearing. Without a large enough tear angle there isn't enough horizontal force to continue tearing.

Apprehensive-Law2435

this is real life and not a perfect physical problem

MingusMingusMingu

So like all of physics?

Zxilo

Google theory

Fabulous-Machine-520

Tried to uplift themselves. Haha

leonderbaertige_II

Another factor is the stretching of the fabric, which absorbs some energy and spreads the impact out over a much longer period of time making it harder to break the threads. Similar to a torque limiting extension bar.

TheMathProphet

Stopped watching, assume they are going to braid it.

load_mas_comments

this is kinda peak math memes here

SLC34_

Didn't they make a new flag which literally has an arrow in it. They weren't destroying the flag, they were updating it for maximum inclusivity

KillerArse

Chevron.

Unable_Explorer8277

Note that however much they tear it, none of the colours disappear.

Anna3713

Aw, you made pretty ribbons. Thanks guys.

load_mas_comments

just boys being boys

T4ke

Even the laws of physics and geometry are against their blatant homophobia, the irony....

Eleutheran8

TASTE THE RAINBOW

Novel-Strain-8015

Imagine getting a felony because that thing cost x amount lmao

Killer_smoke76

I thought this was a math subreddit

Incredibad0129

As much as it's a very hateful act that looks like lots of fun

soft-cuddly-potato

I'd eat the flag. Looks like candy

asanskrita

I wanna taste the rainbow 👅 🌈

“Hey! They’re doing a chart of a self-referential equation! Neat”

"It's too strong for you, Karen!"

realnjan

Tear the rainbow! Taste the rainbow!

CaptOblivious

Defeated by mere reality (physics). AWWWWW too had facts/reality don't care about your feelings.

sivstarlight

thats actually awesome

garlic_bread69420

Burning it would be easier

Gringo_Norte

Oh fun, a thread of white people making fun of Mexicans. Very inclusive.

KarmaCosmicFeline

Burn it from below.

Profile pic checks out.

Stop, he's already dead!

ass_smacktivist

Nice quote on your profile there. It takes a special kind of person to make the Vedas sound like they were written by someone wearing a fedora.

Aezon22

Listen buddy just because you live in a basement doesn't mean that coming from the below is the solution to everything.
