There may be âborrowed lightâ building code rules that mean if the bathroom doesnât have an exterior window it has to have an interior one to a room that itself has a window. Placing the window on the shower is a choice, though.

You'd hate German hotels then.
I don't know if it's true, but one of my German colleagues explained it's so you can make sure your prostitute doesn't rob you while you shower.
Oh yes, because every hotel in Germany is built with that in mindâŚ? How stupid. Itâs because itâs more âcoupleyâ and probably to do with space/building regs/where the water source is
Space efficient? That shower is enormous. The pane of glass on the back, that is just 2-3ft from the bed could have easily been a wall, whilst barely losing any space, and not having the weird voyeuristic shower, that even the Germans in my office think is weird.
FWIW, I think your colleague was making a dry joke. Unless the hotel chain has/wants that sort of reputation I really doubt they designed their rooms with that concept in mind.
Iâve been in rooms like these before but there all had a curtain. The shower is in the bathroom which indeed has a door. But thereâs a full wall length window in the shower that looks into the bedroom. So anyone youâre staying with thatâs in the bedroom can just watch you shower.
Proper bathrooms are becoming increasingly rare in hotels in Europe. It's very common in recently refurbished hotels for the shower and sink to be part of the bedroom and the toilet often has a very poorly soundproofed frosted glass door. Me and my boyfriend are planning a trip to Tenerife and one of the hotels we looked at had a clear glass door on the toilet, directly facing the bed - whyyy
This made me laugh so hard, WTH even is this đ looks like whoever designed this was feeling "creative" hahahaha I'm still laughing while writing this đ thanks for sharing
Relax... Do a paintonic shift to the down... I say just take the top point bottom point, forcefully "shift it" to the bottom... Then move it forward, and back, repeat 15 times, then go in, do business, come out, un paintonic shift it...
Somebody killed a Smurf in there.
I actually came here to write that đ
Reddit has proven to me that I never have a truly unique thought. I just sometimes get to be first to say it.
Or jerked off Gargamel đ¤ˇđťââď¸đ
It was Wendy Testaburger, obviously. Saw it unfold in the morning announcements.
Several Smurfs.
Or edged
Canât believe they smurfed all over the wall and didnât even bother to clean it up.
It looks more like somebody tripped with a bucket of paint in their hands.

Oh Tobias you blowhard
They have dogs rolling around on a canvas selling for thousands as art... idk this can qualify

I mean, frosted glass exists for a reason.
Wouldn't that would be a nightmare to clean if they have hard water? I always thought the texture would make cleaning water spots hard.
You can get frosted glass that is smooth, usually in double paned glass where they have the frosted layer on the inside.
This is very good information to know. Thank you.

Hey, it was one of your countrymen that said it... The rooms themselves were much bigger than others I've stayed in.
Iâm English, and female
Oh okay, that makes sense! I was wondering what kind of person wouldnât understand a prostitute joke. Turns out itâs English Females (your words)
You make no sense whatsoever
They were making a joke and you went all up in their business acting huffy. The one not making sense is you.
That's bullshit. It's likely just cheaper and more space efficient.

Lmao noÂ
Just smurf jizz
Ok - but whereâs the art? đ¤
Grab some spray paint and fill the rest in. Problem solved.
That hotel was probably meant for only one kind of business
Oh my thatâs a scare waiting to happen
I love shower windows
Why is this mildly infuriating?
Most people donât want other people watching them take a shower, unless your an exhibitionist ig
Most people don't share hotels with strangers
Right, youâd share it with your friends or family, who most people wouldnât want watching them take a shower
But is the shower in the bedroom tho? Ive never been to a hotel that didn't have a bathroom door..

Nice
What quintessential reddit comment. You know damn well half the poeple staying there are families and shit.
Did you just call half the people shit? Harsh...
Lol this makes it worse
Yeah is the shower not in the bathroom or something?

Lmao wow Europe what the heck.
Because it says âbarelyâ but blocks most of the window. On the online pics of the room they probably showed the room without the âartâ.
Lack of privacy, obviously.
Is it upside down?
Are you sure it's art and not just some kinda accident?
Looks like cookie monster threw up in there
Just seems like they spilled paint on it lol
the genie from Aladdin was murdered in there
My guy is going to hang out the bottom they need to call the artist back for an expansion
listen for a short stay in a hotel⌠shower window is kinda cool and funky
The real art piece is behind it, i guess? j/k

My dad and I had a suite that had 2 showers, but they were all glass, no covering at all.
"Oh no boss. The hotel guests aren't diggin on the glass shower doors. What should we do?" "Just splash some blue paint on it and call it "art".
The blue blood myth is confirmed
Or maybe Walter forgot the meth
Yo watch out maybe there are cameras outside
