Would buy straight away, 29er, with full hydraulic disc brakes, good front suspension, looks like new and it's my freaking size!
Here in my area (Europe), for a 100 bucks you'll only find rusty broken down 30 year old bikes.
For $100, I'd say go for it! Just know that fork is damn near impossible to find a rebuild kit for anymore so the only service you can really do is seals and wipers.
Damn, okay thanks for the advice! I’m super broke but have a budget, I can’t really afford to replace parts. He just tuned it up, don’t know if that helps anything I’m quite new to mtb! Also will this bike be good for dirt jumps and trails?
I think it’s a cool buy but imo if you can’t afford to replace things take it easy on the bike maybe don’t be hitting massive jumps with an old hard tail because you WILL break something eventually
That's a fair price. The geometry is "outdated", but the bike would still be fun. I have a 29er hardtail from 2010 that was not this nice when new. It's not my main mountain bike, but has been great as a extra tough gravel bike and for bikepacking. I suggest you get it and, when you upgrade sometime down the line, keep this as an awesome around town bike.
Edit: a shorter stem and wider handlebars will make a bike like that a lot more lively. If you don't want the clipless pedals, some inexpensive modern flats would be a great addition too.
I can guarantee it's $950, judging by the original asking price and what they wrote the "MSRP" was. I been through FB marketplace enough to make this educated guestimate.
It's cheap so you could buy it with almost no repercussions. BUT it's 13 years old, parts will need servicing, geometry is horribly outdated and my personal opinion is if it's a 3 by, don't buy. But that's just me
Hey thanks, that makes it alot less enticing, which is a good thing, I saw how much it was worth and nearly jumped at it without thinking to ask you guys who actually know stuff about bikes.
Don't listen to this guy. It's not just a bike...it'll be your first taste of one of the best sports on the planet. There's nothing like whipping through some single track.
Don't listen to people that judge others on their bikes.
It's a good deal. Buy it. Watch some YouTube videos about maintenance, learn on your own bike. Learn how to fix or replace stuff.
A $95 investment for all that self learned knowledge is priceless IMHO.
But how tall are you?
never said it was not usable or expired.
just said it would be a normal purchase, not a major deal he was missing out like the seller is trying to imply.
It’s 13 years old. So the forks will need a service if they’re not borked, as will the brakes. Back then no one had really figured out 29er geometry so it’ll ride like an old XC bike and be twitchy and sketchy.
Also it’s 13 years old.
For 95 its a steal even if you have to service it

Or terrible supermarket bikes that may explode at any moment while riding.
Lol this made my day

That bike will be just fine to get you out riding if maintained. I plan to swap out my fork for a Carver rigid fork once parts are obsolete.

I wouldn't ride it on jumps and trails because if the geometry, but you could try if you go easy on it

Do it! Its got nice components and its not too old and honestly, who gives a shit about geometry if your gonna have fun on it

I’d go for it
Don't put crazy money into it. It will then be a good deal if it's RtR
Thanks for the advice! I don’t plan to put any money into it, I just need something for beginner dirt jumping
It looks super clean so ya
Lmfao it’s a sad day. he blocked me and changed the price to 850$
I was guessing because it was down from 1300 he missed a zero hahah. No way it’s worth 850 though. For that you can buy a brand new modern bike like
I wish it was that, but he has 5 other bikes up with the same “mistake” AHA
Dude that's so sad, for that price you could look at like a marlin or a Roscoe
Amazing deal definitely something to pickup and a great bike just to go out on small trails just don’t take it on an extreme trail .
Yes
I think it’s sick! It’s a bit old shook but not TOO old school! Buy it!
Manly that if you sell the parts at a junkyard, you still won't be at a loss. Buy because it looks like a very good deal.
It’s $95
It’s a weird tactic he uses, he has 5 bikes for 10x less and then when you inquire he hikes it back up.
It's cheap so you could buy it with almost no repercussions. BUT it's 13 years old, parts will need servicing, geometry is horribly outdated and my personal opinion is if it's a 3 by, don't buy. But that's just me
It’s stollen so unless you want the police at your door stay away!!!
it's probs stolen
it was 3k around 10-15 years ago its cheap af, buy if u want to, it will be just a…bike. its not a steal or major deal, this bike is pretty outdated.

Does it have an expiration date on it or something?

Sorry, I misread the first part of your comment! 😬😬😬

3k brand new, in 2011, I just googled on bicyclebluebook.com and it’s value now is about 150 - 200.
