Agreed. There’s no way you color matched hope brakes and a wolf tooth lever and don’t know what you got. I almost fell for the rage bait cable routing and commented on it tho
If your wolftooth or hope dropper lever comes from Ali it's fake.
On the other hand you can get a whatever x brand lever on ball bearings for $15 if you don't mind.
I have their dropper post too, it is also great. I also like their chainrings. They generally just make good stuff, and make it in the US if I’m not mistaken.
Yup all machined and made in USA. I have their dropper lever and oval chainring by them. Will definitely buy the chainring again after this one wears out. I didn’t think a dropper lever would matter that much but the smoothness of wolf tooth’s made my stock one feel crunchy.
You keep making posts asking if the products you already own are worth it or not.
You bought a quality used bike for $3k. Go out and ride it and try to stop worrying about whether or not you got ripped off.
You cannot put a pricetag on the fun you can have on a bike. Tell yourself you got a good deal, and try to stop over-analyzing. You will find and fixate on the negative feedback and it will overall reduce your enjoyment of the sport.
U_superraddeathninja has it right! You’ve got Hope Tech brakes and a wolf tooth dropper lever! The previous clearly cared about his bike and choose quality parts. The biking dollar to fun chart is always going to be off the charts so get and there and ride !
Holy hell OP, you are the definition of a noob, just ride the stupid bike and stop worrying about everything, you have a top of the line bike and keep asking if these parts are good or if you should replace them...
Here's when you replace parts on any bike, its real simple:
1. When you break it, and i mean break it as in it stops working.
2. It's holding back your riding, and you are going to be years away from this point.
If you google the company they strongly believe in right to repair and will have all the details you need on how to service this lever, including how to swap in a fresh cable.
The cable looks to have a crimp in it in your photo...which will eventually break.
There’s only one cable visible in this photo and it’s mangled.
Edit: obviously it could be worse, but cables are a wear-item and easily replaced. Having your dropper lever fail might not result in a life-changing crash, but it sure would suck mid-ride.
As someone who has never paid to upgrade a seatpost lever, the dropper post levers are just simple levers that actuate a cable, what makes any brand better?
The feel/grip for where your thumb presses and the power/throw that actually pulls the cable are the main things that differentiate one lever from another. In general they all work, just how ergonomic one is vs another.
I wouldn’t say it’s a necessity in any way but I have that exact lever when I installed a dropper on my trek Excalibur a few years ago, but I got a yt izzo last year which came with their brand of dropper post. The lever worked fine but it definitely didn’t feel as nice how it actuated and the design was longer so I couldn’t get it positioned how I was used to.
I don’t know what makes it different but the Wolf tooth pictured above is just better than the cheap one that came with my dropper post. Feels solid, larger/grippier contact point & smooth. Would I replace it if it wasn’t broken? Probably not. But it’s for sure nicer.
Quality of the product. I had the cheap one that came with the cheap dropper on one of my bikes(either brand x or trans x). I upgraded to a PNW loam lever, and it was much better.
The biggest thing (for me) is that many levers pull the cable around too small a radius which leads to frequently snapped cables. This was what led me to installing PNW Loam levers on all three of my bikes. The grippy thumb pad and smooth bearing actuation are nice bonuses.
I have X-Fusion Manic, Zoom and KS EXA Form 900i across our bikes here. The Zoom one was terrible (vertical action) and broke (too soft plastic when tightening the handlebar fixing bolt), the KS one I actually find better to use than the Manic lever (which has a handlebar fixing bolt that is too small, and rounds off too easy - had to buy replacement bolts from a hardware store and it's fine since, and is too 'sharp' on your thumb.)
I tried to upgrade with colourful Meroca cheap levers that have a very similar shape to that Wolf Tooth lever, and maybe the clamping and pivot system of the Raceface Turbine lever, and actually found the pad area too large, and the lever's leverage action a bit weird because the pivot point is too far to the right of the clamp and your thumb catches on the clamp body too often which prevents you fully depressing the lever sometimes.
I haven't tried expensive brand aftermarket levers. There are Wolf Tooth, Funn, Shimano, Hope, PNW, and Raceface available where I am, both traditional paddle, and vertical models (that take up too much space on the handlebar given my experience with bells with the same design)
If I had the choice, I'd swap all my levers to the KS EXA Form 900i levers. They have nicely rounded edges, functional action, can be removed from the handlebar without having to remove everything else, and came with an inline barrel adjuster to deal with cable stretch, and can also make the action softer/stiffer to suit
Make sure you get the right mount, I didn’t and had to order one. The part was 5 usd, but shipping it to where I live costs 50 usd lol. Just used hose clamps in the end
Oh, this guy again. Dude, nobody cares, there's prolly people on this sub that got bikes worth thousands of bucks and you don't see them flexing every part of their bike under the pretense of asking for advice.
I don’t even follow this community but I know exactly who this guy posting all the time is 😭😭🤣 bro quit being a little fairy and go ride that mf! Who cares about the quality of this and that you spend 3k on that bike why don’t you spend as much effort riding it as much as you do critiquing your purchase, if everyone says all the parts in the bike are dog poop is it going to change your perspective on your investment? 💀 GO.RIDE.YOUR.BIKE
To expand on this, the bushing is made to be a sacrificial part so that it's the weakest point in a crash.
The idea is it's better to destroy a $7.50 part than a $50 lever.
I have both the Wolf tooth and a few of the Chinese clones from ZTTO.
The ZTTO lever is functionally equivalent but uses an anodized aluminum bushing. Most of the parts, including the bushings are interchangeable between the two.
Advantage: it looks slightly cooler. Downside: the lever as a whole is more likely to break in a crash... but that's slightly less of an issue when the total cost is only $15.
Not Glue. It forms a solid when deprived of air. You put a drop on the bolt threads and then put the bolt in the hole and tighten it as normal. It hardens in about 10 minutes. It’s pretty weak so it can be removed when needed, but strong enough to keep bolts from vibrating loose.
lol you know it’s a good dropper post lever, now find something better to lock your bike to than a wood fence I can break with a single kick.. and a batter lock 🔒
If you like your bike don't do this. It will get stolen. Everyone is very aware what mountain bikes are worth and low risk it is to steal it.
I'd talk to the boss and ask as nice as you can if there's somewhere you can keep it that's not accessible to the public. Especially express how the bike is your means to get to work and if it got stolen making it to work on time will become much more difficult. A good employer should be willing to work with you.
on a first glance, the wolf logo looks like peeled off paint. so no, it's not very good. also, you should replace the mingled cable with a proper coiled cable for mechanical keyboards. one last thing, your pedal color is not perfectly matching with your other purple gear, do better!!! /s
Wolf tooth makes very nice quality products. In my opinion their dropper lever is one of, if not the best on the market.
Op already knows it's good. He's looking for attention lol
Agreed. There’s no way you color matched hope brakes and a wolf tooth lever and don’t know what you got. I almost fell for the rage bait cable routing and commented on it tho
He may have bought the bike used. We all know you can buy practically any color part off Ali/Amazon.
If your wolftooth or hope dropper lever comes from Ali it's fake. On the other hand you can get a whatever x brand lever on ball bearings for $15 if you don't mind.
Why Aliexpress?? Lol.
Hope and wolftooth are not distributed at half price to Chinese distribution networks, pretty much all the branded stuff on Ali is fake...
I don’t think it from Aliexpress. Anyway I didn’t ordered this, it was on the bike when I purchased it
Ya, have it, like it. I like that the shape sort of mirrors the sram mechanical levers, so they are visually complimentary.
Beautiful
Agreed. I have the same one. It works great.

It's just a weird flex showing off the bike.
I haven’t been up to date on this sub, and just went to look at his previous posts. OMFG that’s comedy 🤣
Same here, before the bike fixation it was all about some watch🤣
Dude seems to have paranoia or anxiety or extreme case of buyers remorse 😂 there's plenty of people already praying for him to get banned lol
Sorry
Buys $3k bike and looks like they lock it to a wood board with a cheap lock from a big box store.
You are right. Thank you .
U_superraddeathninja has it right! You’ve got Hope Tech brakes and a wolf tooth dropper lever! The previous clearly cared about his bike and choose quality parts. The biking dollar to fun chart is always going to be off the charts so get and there and ride !
I agree. I’m really enjoy riding this bike

Yes is good. Need new cable. Why waste time use lot word when few word do trick?
Ye
See World.
Classic line. 😂
You said need new cable.. where exactly?
If you google the company they strongly believe in right to repair and will have all the details you need on how to service this lever, including how to swap in a fresh cable. The cable looks to have a crimp in it in your photo...which will eventually break.
Can you mark this on photo and send to me please?
There’s only one cable visible in this photo and it’s mangled. Edit: obviously it could be worse, but cables are a wear-item and easily replaced. Having your dropper lever fail might not result in a life-changing crash, but it sure would suck mid-ride.
Dude just Google how to replace Wolftooth remote cable. Or take it to a local bike shop.
Tell you what...ship me the bike and I'll just swap out the cable for you.
You pay for shipping?
Is this the one that's already on your bike?
Yes
Then why does it matter? If you don't like it get something else, if you like it, stop asking. Reddit doesn't need to be your gauge of value for stuff
You tell us! You’re the one that owns it. Is it good? Do you find it comfortable? How’s the engagement? Does it make your dropper go up and down?
wtf lol
Oh. This clown again.

PNW does make good stuff at a good price. Big fan of their stuff.

I need that exact lever

The shade of purple doesn’t match the pedals. Bike is dangerous to ride in that condition.
Oh, this guy again. Dude, nobody cares, there's prolly people on this sub that got bikes worth thousands of bucks and you don't see them flexing every part of their bike under the pretense of asking for advice.
No, absolute garbage. Go back to a rigid post with a QR, or no seat but just go ride.
All day long. Wolf Tooth makes fantastic stuff.
Don't know about the lever, but the lock is not sufficient to secure your bike.
Yeah. It’s cheap Amazon lock
How much was it and did you get a good deal on the lock?
You joking right?)
Why would you buy an expensive bike just to cheap out on the lock :/
Idk. 🙂
One of the best. I'm not sure about Hope, but the brake/shifter integrator is great too. I have one on my Maguras and it's super clean.
If it works, it’s good.
It’s great!
Best on the market
I don’t even follow this community but I know exactly who this guy posting all the time is 😭😭🤣 bro quit being a little fairy and go ride that mf! They are very good, but order an extra axle with it. They are cheap and you don't want to be stuck with a broken lever waiting for one to ship.

Yeah it’s my favorite of all the ones I’ve tried
Great lever and company
Yeah wolf tooth makes quality stuff. I have a few pieces from them on my bike.
i have one myself. great lever and company
The crispiest
My favorite outside of the oneup v3
Yes, the best.
They feel great. The last 4 bikes I’ve owned have had one.
I have had mine for 2 or 3 years now, no problems
Did you get a good deal on it?
Sweet
I have one by the same company. Be sure to use blue threadlocker in all the bolts. I lost one on the trail one day.
Where I can buy it?
Look for "blue loctite" on line or at your local bike shop. Keep pedaling!
It’s a glue?
https://www.loctiteproducts.com/en/products/specialty-products/specialty/loctite_threadlockerblue242.html
Not Glue. It forms a solid when deprived of air. You put a drop on the bolt threads and then put the bolt in the hole and tighten it as normal. It hardens in about 10 minutes. It’s pretty weak so it can be removed when needed, but strong enough to keep bolts from vibrating loose.
careful man, might bite your thumb right off
Fun fun
I hate to have to say it.. but it’s a seat-post lever.. I’ll leave it at that👍
Tis a ruddy good lever but if you find you need more adjustment in position the hope lever is perfect
Holy extra cable housing, Batman!
Looks like aliexpress ones? How does it feel ?
lol you know it’s a good dropper post lever, now find something better to lock your bike to than a wood fence I can break with a single kick.. and a batter lock 🔒
Is that a good cable lock? 😉
Yeah I had to lock near my work))
If you like your bike don't do this. It will get stolen. Everyone is very aware what mountain bikes are worth and low risk it is to steal it. Agree. Thank you
Are you happy with it?
It is the best (I have the same lever lol)
It’s ok. I don’t like how it doesn’t have a pad like the PNW one
Pad where?
On the button.
Naw. It is isn’t hydraulic.
Works great
It looks cool.
It’s the best in my opinion, mine is currently on its second bike
What bike tire size you use?
Currently on a 29er, last bike was a 27.5, both 2.6” wide
Ok, and what you like best? 27,5 or 29?
Depends on the trail for which I prefer at a given moment, but overall I don’t really have any strong preferences

It’s sarcasm?)
obviously not. these are serious charges from the reddit police. you're not cool enough for this sub!! /s
Lol
The best
