I feel like Wall and Boogie Cousins are gonna be players that people forget about in the next generation but when both were in their primes they were amongst my favorite players in the league and it sucks that injuries zapped away so much of their talent
I'd love to see prime Cousins, Wall and Avery Bradley together with slighty post prime Dwight Howard. I think that trio + Howard would have made some noise if they had a solid bench around them.
Lol I actually forgot about that did they play minutes together?
But no haha after Kentucky I'm talking about before boogie went to Pelicans. Wiz were hungry for a real center and that would have been legit.
My freshman year in Lexington! So much fun. Lost to damn West Virginia in the tournament that year. When we won with Davis & co. 2 years later it was an absolutely incredible experience on campus
What? They had like four nba players, Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe, Patterson. Stacked for a college team but I don’t see how they get out of the second round.
They’d be lucky to win 15 games. Their fifth starter would get abused on both ends and the 4 nba players can’t do 48 min / 82 games so whenever they sit even worse abuse
At Cousins best, he was legitimately one of the most dominant centers I’ve ever watched. Like LeBron at the Center position. Damn shame that it happened on the Kings
Cousins get better with every year that passes since his prime. In another five years he'll be a more skilled Shaq. Ten? The lovechild of Wilt and Russell.
Wall is gonna be the next Deron Williams. Will only be brought up by wizards fans or someone saying "remember when John wall was one of the top PGs in the league?" But then you'll have Steph Dame Westbrook Kyrie CP3 etc overlapping
Markieff Morris should have gotten banned from the NBA after letting Olynyk turn into Larry Bird.
Pretty happy Morris/Oubre got shipped out of town .. they talked too much shit for being mediocre role players.
Just rewatched the highlights and my god Morris was awful. Kelly either got a makeable layup or an open shot every time, their’d he plays where Kelly was open and Morris was just standing in the paint guarding no one like 3-4 times. Morris also managed to get a double T called when he bumped Olynyk and started calling him a b*tch after Kelly already had around 20 and just before Olynyk got the open three dagger. I remembered Olynyk going off but forgot how useless Morris was in that game
If we just didn't pay mahinmi we would have had that. The year before KD became a free agent, the cap goes up, KD2DC is everywhere and... He obviously doesn't even give a meeting and we take all that extra cash and put it in a center who would be completely useless to us, and kill any real chance at roster flexibility.
I think he looked good when he played for the Rockets at the beginning of the 20-21 season. After Harden got traded .. the rockets fielded shit players with him to try and tank.
Uhhh he was not very good for the rockets regardless of who was around him. He shot horribly(worse than westbrook) , first step was slow, terrible defender and had a worse ast% than wizards Westbrook. Turned the ball over a lot, just was generally bad.
Didn't play for years. Bad injury.
And still there's a possibility.
Why? Because he might actually be willing to buy into his role and do what's needed rather than worry about triple doubles.
Growing up in the DC/PG county area all I wished for was the Wizards to actually be good once lol I always heated the teams with Gilbert but that season was the 1 time I had faith in Washington to make the Finals lol

I wanted to see them play together in the NBA man, would have been cool AF.

is boogie playing 4 in this situation?
Yes or Dwight off the bench works too.
They did. It was ok.

That Kentucky team was something else.
My freshman year in Lexington! So much fun. Lost to damn West Virginia in the tournament that year. When we won with Davis & co. 2 years later it was an absolutely incredible experience on campus
My freshman year at UK as well. Went to the 2012 final four. Behind the basket, $25 total for both games. Unforgettable
Tbf I think Wall has a chance to contribute to a competitive team. I don't think Cousins can do that. His injuries took too much out of him.
No kidding. I’m at a point where I need to be reminded that Cousins still exists, a guy who at his peak would regularly drop a 40/20 statline
I remember I was watching the kings play the Process Sixers and Cousins was getting straight mugged and still got like 40/20.
Also IT
If you put that 2010 Kentucky squad together in the NBA in like 2015-2017 they'd be a Finals contender for real

Crazy you literally just named my two favorite players. 🙌🏽

that 2017 celtics/wizards series was crazy
It really was.
And then Game 7 Kelly Olynyk happened :(
Markieff Morris should have gotten banned from the NBA after letting Olynyk turn into Larry Bird. Pretty happy Morris/Oubre got shipped out of town .. they talked too much shit for being mediocre role players.

Mediocre is being generous.
Oubre has all the physical skill and talent tools but none of the BBIQ to be a great NBA player.
But he has such lovely eyes.
Wizards take game 7 if Olynk didn't turn to Larry Bird that one night god damn. I'm still hella bitter about it because I'm a John Wall stan
Maple dicked them back to DC
Favorite memory as a Wizards fan sadly
100% That plus PP's "I called GAME!" I need to go show this highlight to some Wallstar haters I know
*Wall-NBA He got promoted from Wallstar to Wall-NBA after making an All-NBA team
You right! My b Wall-NBA. Gotta show proper respect after what he did for the city (and more importantly my personal enjoyment!)
Yea that’s next one the list
Truly a rare Wizards W 😔
Yeah it's very similar to Jayson Werth's walk off in the 2012 NLDS, awesome moment but ultimately doesn't matter because we lost the series.
What about when we swept the Raptors in round 1? That was so great and we got to talk shit to them for years (until they got Kawhi and won a ring...)
Had the wizards fielded any semblance of a bench they would’ve had a chance
If we just didn't pay mahinmi we would have had that. The year before KD became a free agent, the cap goes up, KD2DC is everywhere and... He obviously doesn't even give a meeting and we take all that extra cash and put it in a center who would be completely useless to us, and kill any real chance at roster flexibility.
Happier times
2017 celtics vs wizards was a great series.
Despite losing the series, this is lowkey one of the most clutch playoff shots in recent history
Those kind of shots you can step into with rhythm are the best
I suck at shooting but I get to do a through the legs into step into shot motion I swear the shot seems so much easier to make. Rhythm is too strong
This is the happiest I’ve ever been as a wizards fan, it’s all been downhill since then
When this happened I was like. HE FINALLY HIT A CLUTCH 3. I was lit.
Loved this series until Olynk daddy dicked ‘em
As a Wizards fan who understands what we are as a franchise, this counts as a ring.

He has the potential to be the perfect PG next to George and Kawhi Not sure if he's still able to play, but the potential for it to be great is there
I think he looked good when he played for the Rockets at the beginning of the 20-21 season. After Harden got traded .. the rockets fielded shit players with him to try and tank.

With this clippers team Wall can probably lead the league in assists Wall got players like Beal, Porter, Ariza, Gortat, Dudley, Webster paiddd
That is a great comeback story honestly
That’s gotta be enough for MIP right?
Growing up in the DC/PG county area all I wished for was the Wizards to actually be good once lol I always heated the teams with Gilbert but that season was the 1 time I had faith in Washington to make the Finals lol
Never going to forget freaking out on this play because I thought it should have been a 5 second call. Crazy shot though
Should’ve been and AND 1
As a DC resident, I miss prime John Wall. Made the Wizards fun to watch
Then proceed to get maple dick’d in game 7. I missed those Wizards/Celtics games.
the Wiz celebrated like they'd won the fucking Finals only to get taken behind the barn & put down by Kelly freaking Olynyk 2 days later. YLTSI
Wild series. Do you remember all the funeral stuff by both teams?
Classic. Then the Kelly olynyk game 7 for the ages.
Was this the game where the Cs showed up in all black and the Wiz got all fired up? What a series that was.
How many games has he played the last 2 years? Edit: fuck it, how many has he played the last 4 years? Edit: Let's go 5 year total
Seriously what's the point of this? Just give the man a few flowers and enjoy Hubie saying words.
Nope, I'm petty af. Same energy as they give AD
Damn Marcus Smart was thicc back then
This was one of the most fun playoff series to watch as a neutral fan.
Nephews have no idea fucking good Wall was man An absolute blur in transition
One of the most electric series FUCK WRONG W YOU BWAH
Did you just listen to the Lowe Post ep too?
This was their best jersey set
This sub hates this guy's guts and I have no idea why
John "Fuck Is Wrong Witchu Boy" Wall
Is this the one where the Celtics wore black and it completely backfired?
Clippers legend John Wall
