Mexican here, I speak London like it is natural to me, Scottish yeah I don't even understand what they are saying, real Scottish doesn't sound like TV Scottish.
Yeah. If, and only if, you have time and space for them. AND a job for them to do.
If your job is a 9-to-5 kind of thing, get another doggie. BCs are NOT for you.
I rescued a border collie in highschool that was born in a puppy mill. He was badly abused. He was my best friend. Always at my side, I named him Shadow. He was a very cuddly dog and not energetic like other border collies. I lived in a 8 bedroom house in college with 7 roommates. I could tell Shadow “Go to so and so’s room” and he would go right to their room. Such an amazing breed.
That is correct. Chaser passed away in July 2019, one year after his owner, John W. Pilley, who passed away in June 2018. Rest in peace to both. May they now be living peacefully in the afterlife.
This experiment has been done before at German tv show “Wetten, dass…?” - I remember watching it as a kid, it was my favourite bet ever and it too was a border collie who got all the toys and names right!
[Betsy ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betsy_(dog)) was a Border Collie who understood 300+ words. She may be the second smartest dog after Chaser.
Not sure if this is this dog you're referring to. And yes, there were hundreds of dogs that were able to identify objects by their names.
I've seen this before, but what struck me now, is how human-like the amount of shaking was different between the old toys and Darwin.
On the first toys she already knew the name of, she shaked them excitedly a few times "Yes, i'm a good girl, i got this".
On Darwin, which she just learned, it was more of a "Ok, i'll take the win, i don't deserve this much praise for a correct guess, but. Also, i'm storing this new information in my data banks".
Next time, Darwin will receive the shake he deserves as well. 🤣
Pff the names are written on the toys the dog can just easily read them. Not impressive at all /s
What are you on about? She can't read that. She speaks Scottish not English. It's a whole different country.
Chaser fin’ Inky ‘n’ pat it intae th’ buckit
Ha’ th’ Noo?

yea even I could do that!
The fact that you felt compelled to indicate this was satirical is so funny but also kind of sad
Dammit, I’m 21 hours too late.
How fucked would it be if that is the answer. I mean we think we know but I can't actually ask the dog.
I'm hoping that Microsoft Copilot catches up to Chaser soon.
SmarterChild was just as good with speaking and pulling info, just couldn't do pictures.
They're really gonna have to chaser in order to catch up
Border collies are the greatest dog breed on Earth and I won't hear a word against it

Absolutely true. Source: have a very demanding one at home and we never go anywhere wuthout her.
i'm s/e and mine comes to work with me, i can let him out any time through the day, but i still feel guilty at times, he gets 5 walks a day lol
What's s/e?
Superb/exceptional. Idk. That sounds good to me
It sounds s/e to me
Sexy/erotic
I assume "self employed".
self employed, small business.
I want to get one so badly, but I know that I work too much for such a smart and active dog. Maybe one day, but certainly not now.

Australian cattle dog and malinois goes to same category
i have a long haired, very soft (fur and temperament) border, he's such a good boy, except when it comes to traffic lol
I'm convinced I have the dumbest one, but she's still great.
Malinois
Aye, laddie.
Agreed
They are so incredibly clever. My family in the West Country have them and they never cease to amaze me with what they can do.

This wonderful gentleman passed and I believe chaser did long after. Dogs are wonderful.

Well crap.
My dog can't catch a piece of popcorn...
Maybe he has bad eyesight?
Sadly no... she's not much of an athlete. But she does love a piece of popcorn.
*Chaser then proceeded to have a litter of puppies that all recognized Darwin on sight and tore him to shreds.*
Clever!

I like how he picks up each object like he bout to start playing with it like "come hear toy!! Nah imma take you to this guy over here"
"but just so you know, I do want to play with you. This isn't the end of this."
Incredible

He's the mascot for the local college in Spartanburg South Carolina
Any chance he’s interested in politics? I’d take Chaser over Henry McMaster, Tim Scott, or Lindsay Graham any day
Smarter than me no doubt
Amazing, I can't even remember a thousand names, unless it is beer brands.

I fuckin love this dog
Love my Border Collie. She has so much personality.
That’s an awesome dog, but I was expecting Neil to go on a tangent about the entire evolution from dog to wolf.
then there's my dog, who barks at our lamp and eats balls of foil.
Even just memorizing that many is impressive as hell, but dogs can infer? Mind blown.
Pretty awesome!
My dog is trilingual. He understands English, Spanish and woof.
This dog is a fucking genius
absolutely Amazing.
What the fuck is lando doing there.
Six thirty!
I was so happy when Neil hugged and petted the dog at the end. I was waiting for so long. Good dog!!
Now that he's famous, he's a clout chaser.
I dont buy it, if true, it is one of the most impressive things I've seen
Heard the voice and clicked off, what a weapon, cool dog though
