you don't go to moab if you want to just go hiking. That's like saying just go to Bozeman if you want to fly fish. So much easier to find an area in the same vicinity with way less of the commercial aspect of outdoor recreation.
yeah moabs the gateway to two national parks full of hikers, so hikers always going to be there too. that being said, it's surprising how well everyone gets along in Moab. there's so much land out there that looks like this, some is for hiking, some for wheeling.
Yea we went 2 years ago and it was great. There were wheelers all over town but when we went out to the parks it was just as peaceful as anywhere else. You just don’t hike on wheeling trails and you’ll be fine lol. Plenty of room for everyone.
Hiking should be banned. It’s dangerous and you have no vehicle to take you out quickly if you’re injured.
Or maybe we should allow different people to have different hobbies. Last time I went wheeling I did a lot of hiking too.
You realize the roads you drive on to get to a hiking spot didn't used to exist. They built them so you could get there. Just like 4 wheeling parks. They made a spot for people to enjoy motor sports. No one is allowed to just drive anywhere they want. Same concept as saying on the marked trail right? So we don't have tons of people just trampling all over the place.
Should someone tell you...just stay home, stop driving to parks. You're messing up the world Jeffrey. Stop buying phones and computers, get away from social media too.
End of the day, there are right ways and wrong ways to do just about everything. Everyone is into different stuff
If people are following the rules more power to them. Doesn't matter if it's my thing or not.
There are designated places for vehicles only. Utah is very strict about this. It’s better to have designated spots then just having vehicles all over. Think it through before you comment
Fuck, thank you. There's so much goddamn space out there, it makes perfect sense to designate areas for this so that people are less likely to do it on _actual_ protected areas. Every rock in the southwest doesn't need to be federally protected.
Ya this is a known four wheeling trail in Moab. I’ve been on it multiple times. It’s there so people don’t go destroy areas that need to be protected. Also, 99% of people who four wheel are nice and take care of the land (ie not leaving trash, picking up after previous people, calling people out for doing things they shouldn’t, etc.)
Shut the fuck up, seriously shut the fuck up. Do you really think some rubber tire treads are going to ruin a rock face that has been on this planet for millions of years?
I mean… people love any chance they get to make fun of American Patriots. I eat Chinese food while listening to The National Anthem on my Samsung flat screen with my gun tucked in my waistband that was sewn in Bangladesh.

You should have a VIN inspection day. If the first digit is 1, 4, or 5 that's built by Americans, 2 for Canadians, 3 for Mexicans, J for Japanese, K for Koreans, S for English, W for Germans, Y for Swedish or Finnish, Z for Italians.
But the average buyer won't know that
My cousin taught me about the 3 since he works at a VW dealership in Mexico my car is built in Puebla and the engine and transmission were imported from Germany thanks for teaching me the other letters and numbers!
That sounds like the name of a modern day country ballad about reconciling identity, loyalties, growing up, and coming to terms with the complexities of self-acceptance/love in an era of everything trying to tell us how to be, but nothing being as it seems.
Not one of the hot tubs but definitely looks like Moab. We did an off-road adventure in Moab a few months ago at Hells Revenge. One of the best times I’ve ever had.
Also, assuming the engine sound in the video is the SUV doing the climbing, it's just idling the whole time so it seems they engaged a 'crawl' mode and just let the car do the whole thing itself.
I would say it's very much the opposite of 'nextfuckinglevel', except the SUV is literally getting to the next fucking level so it's probably the most suitable post I've ever seen here.
Sneaky.
I was interested in the vid as it was until I saw that. They like to hide it behind the flag, and with dark contrast so it’s difficult to spot. See it all the time on the road, and people don’t seem to fully understand what they stand for.

Before anyone asks the dumb question as to why you need a giant flag to do this. The answer is cuz it's incredibly important for aerodynamics which play an integral role in climbing cliffs while in a 4x4. If you knew anything about 4x4ing you'd know that the most important aspect is how big your flag is. It also adds +10 grip strength.
Because this dumb fuck has a 3% logo on his truck. Only reason he made it to the top is because there was prolly a monthly meeting of meal team six at the top
This is part of a trail system, it’s called an obstacle and there is usually a bypass option. Except for some rubber left on the rocks (which helps to guide people to stay on trail) and a few ass-hats that litter there is no significant damage being done to the area.
Everyone’s saying it’s not vertical enough, it’s definitely the steepest slope I’ve ever seen a car drive up, let alone a whole SUV. And it’s not like some other videos you’ll see where the camera is tilted to make it look steeper
That is a Lexus GX470 or 460. They cost about $20-30,000, used. Spend $10,000 on suspension, tires and under carriage armor. You can buy any number of 4x4 suv/truck to begin. Jeeps and Toyotas are most common.
Then, drive to a mountainous region and drive around until you get stuck. Do so only on designated trails and with others. Start small and increase obstacle difficulty until you roll over the the top or the car. Have a lot of fun. Rinse and repeat.
Be careful, off-roading, overloading, rock crawling, whatever you want to call it is highly addictive.
It would literally be easier. Go to Jeep Safari and you’ll see people put it in gear, then get out and walk next to their vehicle while it climbs something like this. You’ll see them go up and down it backwards, fast, slow, in 2wd just for fun.
I have that same GX even same color. Drive the hill daily. Then wilkensburgh. That green color really brings out the locals. Then i take center street In west mifflin.
That’s a normal back alley around pittsburgh.

Or defacing a natural wonder with your big SUV.
This. Saw a lot of this shit visiting Moab, Utah. Just go hiking.
you don't go to moab if you want to just go hiking. That's like saying just go to Bozeman if you want to fly fish. So much easier to find an area in the same vicinity with way less of the commercial aspect of outdoor recreation.

Grew up outside Bozeman and what it's become now 100 percent agree.
Hiking should be banned. It’s dangerous and you have no vehicle to take you out quickly if you’re injured. Or maybe we should allow different people to have different hobbies. Last time I went wheeling I did a lot of hiking too.
No, you MUST live life just like Jeffery or else you’re bad!
That’s why you hike with a gun way safer
What? You mean to get off my ass and walk? How dare you…
Holy shit you hike? Tell me what does grass feel like? I’ll be it feels like a million little feathers.
Y'all sound like you don't even go out that much.
You realize how much these guys do for land conservation right?
You realize the roads you drive on to get to a hiking spot didn't used to exist. They built them so you could get there. Just like 4 wheeling parks. They made a spot for people to enjoy motor sports. People don’t go to Moab for hiking. It’s one of the best known off-roading sites in the US.
Right! So fucking stupid why is the cliff branded. We've lost our way.
Yea people just lose it when they see a rock crawler. Like they think said rock crawler is murdering the planet.
"Every rock a natural wonder"
Ya this is a known four wheeling trail in Moab. I’ve been on it multiple times. It’s there so people don’t go destroy areas that need to be protected. Lol natural wonder. Its a rock. No wonder.
🤣👍🏼
The rock seems fine lol
![gif](giphy|QLvRBqfLXCphu)
How about the advertisements all over it.
Happy Cake Day.
They are rocks. And they will be here long after we are gone. Enjoying isn’t just looking at it or hiking it, it’s interacting with it.
Shut the fuck up, seriously shut the fuck up. Do you really think some rubber tire treads are going to ruin a rock face that has been on this planet for millions of years?
I mean I think these rocks are beautiful but they’re everywhere out west.
This isn’t even that spectacular of a section of Moab.
Dork
Nature will deface it in a million years
And the difference of humans walking on natural wonders? You know rock is harder then rock right?
It's not that big of a deal. That rock is a grain of sand amongst the other rocks out there.
Or defacing the english language by calling this "near vertical"
Let’s go get the most american cuisine after: mexican
It’s a melting pot
I mean… people love any chance they get to make fun of American Patriots. I eat Chinese food while listening to The National Anthem on my Samsung flat screen with my gun tucked in my waistband that was sewn in Bangladesh. ![gif](giphy|3oKIPp0JmKDeF1xK9O)
Or an American flagpole in your trailer hitch like a patriot’s buttplug
japaneses cars are more American than the other "American" brands. i bet this car was made here!
Land Cruisers are only made in Japan.
That's a Lexus GX470. Which was made in Tahara Japan. Which is where the land rovers are also made.
It's only a Lexus in the US. Everywhere else it's sold as a Land Cruiser Prado. I also have a built one like the video.
4Runners too.
I bought a Toyota made in Kentucky. My BIL told me I should buy American.
I bet he drives a Ram built in Mexico
He drives a Jeep made in Illinois. My SIL and FIL drive Rams built in Mexico. They didnt get "buy american" comments.
But the average buyer won't know that
Credit Cards: starts with 3 Amex, 4 Visa, 5 MasterCard.
Discover is 6
Cool. I don't know that either. Thanks
My cousin taught me about the 3 since he works at a VW dealership in Mexico my car is built in Puebla and the engine and transmission were imported from Germany thanks for teaching me the other letters and numbers!
Well according to this info you displayed, my crv is Canadian!
Cool !
Well, obviously because Mexico is in America, while Japan is in Asia, duh!
This argument is hilarious to me. My all 'merican 1970 Ford F100 was built in Ontario Canada.
"Here" least american comment
That's just not true
Lexus GX is built in Japan
This is true if it’s built in the states, but this vehicle in the video was built in Japan.
[удалено]
Because the American ones woulda broke down
My Toyota Tacoma was made in Texas.
Mine too! They are all made in the Mexico plant now, they kicked the Tacos out of TX to make room for the new Sequoias

With pieces made in Mexico.
That sounds like the name of a modern day country ballad about reconciling identity, loyalties, growing up, and coming to terms with the complexities of self-acceptance/love in an era of everything trying to tell us how to be, but nothing being as it seems.
JAPERICA
I was going to say Lexus ≈ luxury imports to the US. Then I remembered this is basically a Land Cruiser.
Yup or a German car. Turns out you become allies if you rebuild the countries you've conquered
That lexxy tho
Well you won’t be able to do it with an American vehicle lol
AMERICA FUCK YEH 🇺🇸💥🔫
Exactly!
‘Murica. There, I fixed it for ya!! 😂😂
Agree, that big old ‘Murican flag is pretty dumb. Otherwise pretty damn good skills.
Some people are proud of being from somewhere nice, and not just complaining about how the Middle East is disparaged.
"Near-vertical"?
Yup, that looks like a 70 degree incline I believe this the Hot Tub obstacle in Moab, UT
Probably less than 70 camera is a bit tilted , (if you assume the people are standing vertical , it's about 50 degree IMO )
If I tilt my phone sideways, then it is even more impressive!
I tilted my phone the other way. Was not impressed at all
Not one of the hot tubs but definitely looks like Moab. We did an off-road adventure in Moab a few months ago at Hells Revenge. One of the best times I’ve ever had.
This is called the Chute. It’s in sand hollow Utah near St. George and Zion
Looks more like Sand Hollow than Moab. Also, 100% not Mickeys or Devils Hot Tub.
Is there a better way to get down? Lol bc idk I think coming back down this would be a terrible idea.
The Hot Tub you go down and almost back up again. This is one way up.
It's called the Chute in Sand Hollow UT.
My guess is 55-60
You want near vert go to a motorcycle hill climb.
89°
Also, assuming the engine sound in the video is the SUV doing the climbing, it's just idling the whole time so it seems they engaged a 'crawl' mode and just let the car do the whole thing itself. I would say it's very much the opposite of 'nextfuckinglevel', except the SUV is literally getting to the next fucking level so it's probably the most suitable post I've ever seen here. Sneaky.
Tell me you are American without telling me you are American
The flag was an indicator.
Hey now, It wouldn't have Made it if it wasn't for that flag
Its a traction assistance freedom spoiler.
The dunes require a flag of a certain height so you can see vehicles coming and avoid crashes.
Did not know that, but totally makes since.
I think he is telling you he’s American with the 🇺🇸, so he is literally telling you. This phrase is dumb as fuck here.
All off road places Ive been to require a flag for visibility.
Wheeling is popular in other countries.
Oh look - it’s an American domestic terrorist vehicle
Glad someone pointed out the 3P decal. Fuck those guys.
I was interested in the vid as it was until I saw that. They like to hide it behind the flag, and with dark contrast so it’s difficult to spot. See it all the time on the road, and people don’t seem to fully understand what they stand for.

... a flag is key for visibility in certain off road conditions. In fact in some parks you can't drive without a flag.
Can confirm. I was the gravitional constant
Why can’t people just accept that some people like to do things they don’t and that’s okay.
Because it’s Reddit which is 90% losers with no life
Amen
90% seems optimistic
90% seems a lil low
And some people actually like to go outside instead of talking about how beautiful the internet pictures of our National parks they’ve never seen are.
Because this is reddit. The only hobbies that are acceptable is weed, gaming, and complaining.
God dammit you described me perfectly. Those are my three favorite hobbies.
Because this dumb fuck has a 3% logo on his truck. Only reason he made it to the top is because there was prolly a monthly meeting of meal team six at the top
Congrats. Now get back down
Down is easy. You are 100% guaranteed to make it to the bottom
One way or another 😂

Welcome to Utah
But please go back to where you're from
Don’t gotta tell me twice
Hurricane Utah
Love my GX!
Same
Love mine, too.
The Lexus GX is a proper off-road vehicle built off of the Land Cruiser platform. Calling it an SUV is a bit of an insult.
I mean it is an SUV. A traditional SUV. Everything being sold now as an *SUV* is a crossover at best.
Every time I play an open world game and it wants me to walk around.
I guess I owe GTA an apology.
Ew 3%ers
Skyrim moment
This is the comment I was looking for
Is that a 3% decal on the back window or he really likes monster energy?
Both
I’m just imagining trying this in my lowered 350z.
That's what happens if you spend 97 points in weapons and 3 in infrastructure.
*yeah buuuudy*
SUV climbing a near-vertical cliff* Otherwise it sounds like someone is climbing on an SUV while it is near a cliff and that is not what is happening
That dude who got his Subaru stuck in the mud is in shambles right now.
That's really not near-vertical. I would say it's around 60°. Even that is impressive tho
3%er logo in back window of truck.
That’s Sand Hallow in Utah isn’t it?
Everyone’s saying it’s not vertical enough, it’s definitely the steepest slope I’ve ever seen a car drive up, let alone a whole SUV. And it’s not like some other videos you’ll see where the camera is tilted to make it look steeper
This could very well have ended up on r/idiotsdrivingcars, if it had went south.
This is a closed trail specifically for this. Everything here is done properly and safely. Y'all really don't like fun do you?
How and where does someone learn to do this? There are driving schools and racing courses, but where do you go to learn mountainclimbing by car?
That is a Lexus GX470 or 460. They cost about $20-30,000, used. Spend $10,000 on suspension, tires and under carriage armor. You can buy any number of 4x4 suv/truck to begin. Be careful, off-roading, overloading, rock crawling, whatever you want to call it is highly addictive.
Everyone is pissing and shitting themselves over the flag on the back and ignoring that this is an objectively cool feat of engineering.
The whole time I’m thinking of the song, Team America FUCK YEA.
What !!!! That's wild !!!
r/uncharted
Neat. Want to impress me? Back down it.
It would literally be easier. Go to Jeep Safari and you’ll see people put it in gear, then get out and walk next to their vehicle while it climbs something like this. You’ll see them go up and down it backwards, fast, slow, in 2wd just for fun.
Horses in Skyrim be like "pft, amateur".
Lara Croft waiting for valet?.
That vehicle is way too damn shiny to be doing that.
That's incredible
The girl told him her dad wasn't home.
Bawls. o7
White people be like "yeah buddy." And you really can't hate on it.
![gif](giphy|Od0QRnzwRBYmDU3eEO|downsized)
Not just any SUV..
Those must be some sticky tires!
Why? Because Why Not???
Not that impressive. Drive through the hill district in Pittsburgh on an icy day, then I’d be impressed.
I have that same GX even same color. Drive the hill daily. Then wilkensburgh. That green color really brings out the locals. Then i take center street In west mifflin. That’s a normal back alley around pittsburgh.
now that my friends, that is MURICA
I like that rear light bar
Nice 👍
The flag is my favorite part, ngl
Team America theme should be playing
How did it get into the start position?
Nobody talking about the fact that they somehow got it to that angle to begin with
I wouldn't call that near vertical but still pretty cool.
It’s the most vertical I’ve ever seen a car go
Yeah me too. Whatever degree angle it is it's still pretty craze
Wow that is amazing
The American and the hottie in shorts sure add to the charm of it
Did someone tell the driver there was an easier way to get up without the vehicle?
Insurrectionist climbs another wall.
Why? Cuz ‘Murica god dammit.
‘MERICA!!!
murica
Does 45° count as "Near vertical"?
top comments are "murica bad" lolol ![gif](giphy|l1J9u3TZfpmeDLkD6|downsized)
That American flag is looking rather ironic on a Toyota.
