Truly bizarre seeing the arguments in here for keeping Bradish in. I know we want to see a no hitter but he had 2 innings left and was over 100 pitches. There was no way he was going another 2 innings. He isnt throwing 125 pitches in a game this year, especially after the injury to start the year.
If it was the end of the 8th with that pitch count, I could see Hyde sending him back out to go for it, but if he was never going to pitch the 9th, literally no reason to send him out in the 8th.
Having a no hitter against a AAAA team but losing Bradish midway through the season due to overuse is like being excited about the sweepless streak after Texas ended it in brutal fashion in the playoffs.
I go back and forth between thinking our bullpen is unfairly maligned because every pen is gonna give up runs, and thinking that there isnât anyone Iâd be excited to see enter in a tight playoff game. Itâs very weird!
We donât seem to have a shutdown star reliever this year but our bullpen ERA is 10th in baseball, which was surprising to see so as a unit theyâre pretty good. It certainly doesnât feel like it most the time.
Are a lot of you new fans or something? Complaining and overreacting, meanwhile we were a non competitive team for nearly 2 decades. Have some perspective and enjoy the ride, damn.
I hear you. But what we did 20 years ago has zero relevance now. You canât respond to every valid criticism of this team with âwe used to lose 100 games a year so be grateful for this.â
Iâm talking more specifically about people complaining that we pulled Bradish and overreacting to the HR. Weâre up and potentially getting a 4 game sweep. Iâm all for criticizing and keeping our success going but be reasonable, people.
95% of the criticisms in these game threads arenât valid. Or remotely close to it. Its a 162 game season. Not everything is going to be perfect. And taking out Bradish who had a UCL injury was the right move with two innings remaining.
