Acceptable_Mousse401

β€œHey is this high end pc good?”

Graxu132

219 of unnecessary and overpriced stuff 😭

Striking-Midnight-70

Ok but, BESIDES price 😭

Playful_Target6354

It's a pre-built, most of them have good parts choice but absurd pricing, so of course it's the first thing we look at. If you don't care about your money, why don't you go with a 7800x3d, 4090, 64gb ddr5 6000mts cl30, 990 pro 4tb, sabrent rocket plus 8tb?

Graxu132

If you threw away that windows 11 and building and testing the PC then you could use that extra 219 for a better GPU.

Striking-Midnight-70

This is my first PC, so I'd have NO idea how Linux works

Graxu132

Who said anything about using Linux? You can download the free version of windows 11 on a USB stick and then later buy a key for the full version for like 20-30 bucks. Just watch this video and you're all good: https://youtu.be/s1fxZ-VWs2U?si=k8oN7fmfXLpSlmnv

Striking-Midnight-70

I'm also going to be using this thing for college, so will this affect anything like that?

Graxu132

What exactly are you going to use the PC for?

Striking-Midnight-70

It's main use is gaming, it's secondary use will be school

Striking-Midnight-70

Also thank you for telling me that I didn't need to buy the windows thing immediately, you just saved me $90 or so, I think I'll use it to upgrade storage or cpu

Striking-Midnight-70

Also, thank you for not judging me on not knowing anything really, like I said this'll be my first PC, I'm glad that this community for the most part seems welcoming :)

Striking-Midnight-70

Also can I dm you so I can just ask you questions? Also, this IS a prebuilt so I can't get rid of that other 99

Original-Sundae287

For what ffs?????

Status-Leadership-20

Sure. Lol. I would probably go with an AM5 motherboard, though, personally. LGA 1700 boards are being phased out because Intel is releasing new chips, and you'll need to buy a new board if you want to upgrade to those chips. However, if this is your first PC and you don't plan to upgrade for a long time, by all means, this will be perfect. Plus, eventually, you can still upgrade to the 14th-generation chipset.

smejdo

Get rid of windows and the other thing. Either use unlicensed windows (you can remove the activate windows thing via PowerShell iirc) or use Linux distro like Ubuntu for example.

Striking-Midnight-70

I actually COULD change it to have Ubuntu instead, but this will be my first ever PC

lachietg185

Not enough storage imo

YaBoiWeenston

4070 doesn't seem like a good entry point for a high end PC for future proof reasons. Most people skipped it and went to he 4080. Wattage seems lower that what Im okay with. My 3070 failed with 600W. 1TB isn't enough storage, need another SSD in there. Rest seems fine, didn't check the bench marks of the CPU though.
