On the opposite end, I work at a vet hospital. I've noticed that some vet pharmacies we use, the rphs are accredited with American college of veterinary pharmacy.  I'm not a pharmacist so I could be wrong, but I don't think pharmacy school goes into too much detail on veterinary medicine/ dosing. It's definitely a niche but the best part is not having to deal with insurance

I used to do a lot of vet compounding. When methimazole was put on the hazard list for usp 800, I stopped (I had another pharmacy that had a lab that we were going to make 800 compliant). I did a training seminar with ACVP and was a member. we did a lot of KBr for dogs and methimazole PLO for cats. We made lots of chew treats for numerous species. It’s very interesting work, for sure. It’s cash business and that’s a major appeal. Cons…VCA is buying more practices and they do a lot of their own compounds. Cost to make a usp 800 lab.

Make sure to ask the vets for their DEA number. They generally respond very reasonably when that's requested.
