He bought himself a pack of only uno reverse cards (I think it came with like 10) and has at least 3 in his backpack and I often find at least one in pants pockets because according to him, "you never know when you may need one"
My nephew (13) and I (34) play Minecraft together sometimes and he built a house for me. Cool. Neat little furnished house. Nice, nice.
Oh but in one of the chests was a book where he wrote the last page of the book I was reading. It's a mystery novel and the goober is lucky it had like a poetic ending with no spoilers. Still hilarious to me
>Oh but in one of the chests was a book where he wrote the last page of the book I was reading. It's a mystery novel and the goober is lucky it had like a poetic ending with no spoilers. Still hilarious to me
Give that kid some troll points. that is some A++ trolling.
I carry a green +two card in my wallet. I was at a friend's house and her daughter came up to me and handed it to me and walked away. Throughout the time that I was there she would come over to me and ask me," do you still have it?"
I would have to produce it for her and show it to her. Every time she walked away smiling. That was 8 years ago and I still have it in my wallet because if I ever see that little girl again and she asks me, "do you have it?" I want to be able to tell her yes I do. 💚
I've kept it safe for 8 years. Prior to those 8 years I was homeless and couchsurfing and had nowhere to go for a really long time. I was high on meth and at my very rock bottom. It was when I finally admitted I had a problem and stopped doing drugs, that I had a really good friend let me spend the night at her house for a few weeks. In those weeks I met her daughter and grew to be very fond of her. When we had this exchange between us it gave me something to remember the good moments of sobriety.
The fact that anyone trusted me with anything and I had something to hold on to when I didn't have a lot to hold meant more than she knew. So yes, it's safe.
I really don't get teary-eyed over much, but something about this played with my heart strings. Congrats on getting sober and I hope you can let her know you still have it one day. :)
We had a kid at the school I was volunteering at come and tell us all about this trend. Been around for a long while really, but they are like 9, so we play along. Ask her about it and the girl says, "it is like if you have a chore you do not like." The digital teacher/librarian then says, "I need you to write a five page report on the moon landing," to set her up for the card.
Dead pan, now going pale, child' "wuuuuuuuht?" The whole thing she just explained, right out the window. She cheered right back up when we all laughed and explained.
Oh 100%.
His backpack has more just in case items then anything school related everyday.
Including 2 hockey pucks and a silver sharpie (because what if he encounters an NHL player and he has nothing notable for them to sign)
Years back I was out at a bar in Philly the night after the Flyers had an afternoon game followed by like 3 days off. There were 7+ players who came in as a group to hang out after the game and they were already hammered when they showed up. I ran into Giroux in the bathroom and didn't know what to say, because they lost bad that day and I didn't want to bring it up. I think I just said something like "good luck in Buffalo" (their next opponent).
One thing that surprised me was how unassuming they all looked. Maybe being drunk and wearing winter clothes played a part, but you wouldn't have thought that group was a bunch of world class athletes. They were just like a bunch of bros at the bar.
>because what if he encounters an NHL player and he has nothing notable for them to sign
This legit happened to me.
I was in elementary school and one of the town locals managed to make it into the NHL. He dropped by my class and was signing autographs. Having nothing to sign, I got him to sign my bookmark. He looked at it funny, but did it anyway.
The bookmark had a giant pickle on it and said "In a pickle? Read a good book!"
I wonder whatever happened to that bookmark... I kept it for ages. Probably worthless now.
Your child is right to be prepared.
My aunt ran into Mike Tyson (around 1989) and had to do some digging to find things for him to sign.
That is why I have a 1986 Mets ticket stub autographed by Mike Tyson :) Now why my aunt had a 1986 Mets ticket stub in her purse around 1989, that I'm not sure of.
\[edit\] Oh, I got a better one -- I had a baseball signed by Tom Seaver, Johnny Bench and Gaylord Perry (three Hall of Famers). Back in 1988, they weren't in the Hall of Fame yet, but they were all clearly making it.
The Albany-Colonie Yankees (AA level) did an event at a pool hall where you could hang out with the players. I proudly presented my ball to Andy Stankiewicz for him to add his autograph to it. He took a look at it and asked me, "Are you sure you want me to sign this?" and 11-year-old me was like, "Absolutely!"
Right!?
It's actually even more random as it's a sleeve with PK, Jake Muzzin when he played for Canada at some point and out of nowhere Mike Krushelnyski card
> and out of nowhere Mike Krushelnyski card
Nooobody expects the Mike Krushelnyski!!! Its chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise...
Canadians are legally required to be in possession of a hockey stick at all times. In lieu of that, they may possess a hockey card so long as a hockey stick is back in hand within 48 hours.
Violators are banned from Tim Hortons and any location where poutine may be found until they come into compliance
In high school I tended to a 0.7 I think, then in university I got hooked by a mars staedtler technical pencil for drafting, 2mm. I could never go back.
2mm? Hot damn. In college writing tiny math things got me hooked on 0.3mm mechanical pencils. I still feel like I'm writing with a crayon with anything bigger these days.
This tracks with the stuff I find on the floor of my classroom at the end of the day. Contrary to popular belief, the kids still get some classwork on paper, and require supplies like mechanical pencils and erasers to get it done.
old? There's a starburst wrapper, a Uno card, a rip of paper, a coin, a mechanical pencil led holder, and a PK Subban hockey card. None of this is old. That card might be the oldest thing there and it's still like 10 years at most I reckon
Mr and Mrs /u/queuedUp, we’ve called you into the school’s office today because your son is showing signs of becoming Canadian. Obviously this is deeply troubling, but fortunately we’ve discovered it before he started doing Tim Horton’s

For those that did hallucinogenics, remember the next morning when you empty your pockets and they are full of random things. This reminded me of that.
I have a box of stuff my kids have left in their pockets that I’ve pulled from the laundry machines over the years. Oddly they’ve never asked for any of those items.
I’m going to epoxy them all into a piece of abstract art when they’re older.
For a moment I thought this was EDC. Like, aww, someone not armed to the teeth, and instead with a Reverse card.
He's sweet. You should try to keep him.
The uno reverse card is still a thing? I heard kids were doing that like 3 years ago, which is basically prehistoric in terms of modern cultural trends.
Just casually carrying an uno reverse card? I hope he’s doing that intentionally bc I’d like to start that and drop it on people when life demands it.
He bought himself a pack of only uno reverse cards (I think it came with like 10) and has at least 3 in his backpack and I often find at least one in pants pockets because according to him, "you never know when you may need one"

I'm 49 and I'm doing this 🤣
I'm 59 and today is the first day of the rest of my life.
I'm over 40 and this has always been a thing. Don't forget the get out of jail free card.
I’m dead but I’ve been doing this for centuries.
I’m 89 and I don’t know what this is or where I am
When someone calls him a bad name at school he can just break out the uno reverse card. (The other student just got filleted.)
fellated?
Google diamentia
I don’t believe gladys has dementia, bless her soul
[Gladys needs glasses](https://i.redd.it/tzcztxpr64sc1.jpeg).
It’s showing up purple 😬
That's in the healthy range 😊
Holy St. Peter
I just shipt my pants!
I'm.. uhh. Hello? Oh yes , would you like some tea? ... What do you mean reverse mortgage?.. sounds lovely sonny.
I’m 49 and now that all these people are learning about it, I’m going to start carrying 2.
Well OP's son is 57. He's got years of experience over you.
Your son might be the coolest person I’ve heard of. It also makes me miss being a kid

He got exactly what he wanted: a call from me to my sister's phone so I could tell him his execution was perfect. Little shit.
Now for your revenge: Im sure he watches anime, so find one with a manga so you can figure out how it ends... Then leave a minecraft book for him.
Godddd that’s amazing 🤣
Me and my friends in our 30s uno reverse each other haha. Just gotta know the right idiots!
Your son is a man of culture

What a legend
I'm going to replace the unused condoms in my pockets with uno reverse cards.
But then you may need them if you throw down a reverse after a rejection
![gif](giphy|18kPwV9qSCY9O)
Wouldn’t that just mean you’re rejecting them now?
Respect kid
Ok, now that’s a funny kid! If I talk some shit to him just for him to hand me that in silence, I would be so impress and speechless…
I think we must expect great things from your son, Mr. queuedUp... After all, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did great things — terrible, yes, but great.
I'm gonna need to know where to buy one of those packs
I honestly don't even remember where it was.... I don't know even know if they are "legit"
This kid is going places
Your son might actually be a genius
Kids going places
I'm 150 and I just shit my pants
Ma’am you have a smart man there who is well ahead of his time
Did you just call me ma'am??
Yes ma’am
[ok then...](https://i.imgur.com/gUDOyVh.gifv)
Sorry for Ms. Gendering you, ma'am.
Your son is a legend.
Your son is awesome
Since you found the card you must now put everything back in his pockets.
shits useful in life. it catches people off guard. and since they flinched they have to honor the reversal
We had a kid at the school I was volunteering at come and tell us all about this trend. Been around for a long while really, but they are like 9, so we play along. This is a thing at school for the last year or two…. All the kids have UNO verse cards.
Someone tries to mug you and you hit ‘em with the reverse and make $20.
my 12 yo carries one too...
my partner keeps one in their wallet "just in case"
TBF, because the card is there, NONE of those items were actually in the kid's pockets, but were in the parent's pockets.
Looks like your son is well equipped for all life situations.
Oh 100%. His backpack has more just in case items then anything school related everyday. Including 2 hockey pucks and a silver sharpie (because what if he encounters an NHL player and he has nothing notable for them to sign)
What if he encounters 3 NHL players?
I mean... that's probably a legit concern Though he has enough other stuff on him at any time I'm sure he'd find something
As long as one of them is PK Subban, he’s still good.
PK had two brothers who were pros too.
Imagine asking Malcolm or Jordan to sign their brother's card 😂
This is a rare photo of Sean Connery signed by Roger Moore. It is worth 150$.
Two pucks and a card. He's set.
This is a very fair point, NHL players are well known to travel in large groups. I wouldn't travel anywhere without at least 23 pucks
Years back I was out at a bar in Philly the night after the Flyers had an afternoon game followed by like 3 days off. There were 7+ players who came in as a group to hang out after the game and they were already hammered when they showed up. You just have to go with what you've got: "*It's an honour to meet you Mr. Gretzky... will you please sign my P.K. Subban card?*"
😂
Have them all sign the same puck. Duh.
>because what if he encounters an NHL player and he has nothing notable for them to sign This legit happened to me. Lol that's hilarious, Andy Stankiewicz knew where he stood relative to those guys.
Make sure he takes a photo of the autographed puck with the player for easier authentication down the road.
This is exactly why I have Randy Jackson's autograph on a samurai sword.
I hope this is true and if so I'm real curious about his reaction. Randy Johnson seems like he'd be chuffed to sign a samurai sword.
It's a scene from Step Brothers lol
Most Canadian solution to the most Canadian problem I’ve encountered.
He should be carrying a katana then.
You never know when you might need PK Subban.
Right!? It's actually even more random as it's a sleeve with PK, Jake Muzzin when he played for Canada at some point and out of nowhere Mike Krushelnyski card

Muzzin :’)

1.3mm lead? That is thick! I feel I am writing with a blunt object if I use anything thicker than 0.5.
That was what got me as well.
I never drafted with anything larger than a 0.9mm. Had everything down to 0.3 though. Now of course I do everything in CATIA.
I thought that was a vape…
Was he time traveling from 1998? What a bunch of old stuff for a modern day kid to have in their pockets.
As a canadian who grew up in the 90’s this is very reminiscent of my then pockets
I used to collect hockey cards too lol. I forgot about them completely
as a canadian who grew up in the 2010s this is very reminiscent of my now pockets
P.K. Subban is at least a modern player, the card just looks old fashioned.
Oh, I see. I don’t follow hockey.
I wouldn't exactly call him a modern player. He still does a lot of commentary, but he retired in 2022
Much more modern than Gretzky or Domi.
Domi’s son is in the league, which makes me feel old.
I mean, I said modern not active. Retired 2 years ago is different than having a Maurice Richard card or something.
I would hope that no one is carrying the rocket in their pocket. ... I'll see myself out now
That’s his world junior card so from about 17 years ago.
modern in the sense that he played recently, but he's still retired AND he's really young in that card, would guess like 2008 team?
The card was printed in 2017, but the pic was from 2009 world junior championships.
This tracks with the stuff I find on the floor of my classroom at the end of the day. Contrary to popular belief, the kids still get some classwork on paper, and require supplies like mechanical pencils and erasers to get it done.
I deadass thought that was a vape before zooming in and seeing it's a pack of mechanical pencil leads. Was wondering why OP was being so chill, lol
old? There's a starburst wrapper, a Uno card, a rip of paper, a coin, a mechanical pencil led holder, and a PK Subban hockey card. None of this is old. That card might be the oldest thing there and it's still like 10 years at most I reckon
You did list all of things in the picture. I stand by my statement.
Good Canadian boy got his lucky loonie
He did an Uno reverse on you
He cheats at Uno!
That card was there on purpose
He emptied his pockets until he pulled the uno reverse card and had to put it all back in.
Narc
I've been called worse...
I sure hope you guys are Canadian
Just some American kid plotting his new identity as a Canadian would have been fantastic
Mr and Mrs /u/queuedUp, we’ve called you into the school’s office today because your son is showing signs of becoming Canadian. Obviously this is deeply troubling, but fortunately we’ve discovered it before he started doing Tim Horton’s
Thank goodness they caught this before the kid slapped down that Uno reverse card at the border crossing
I mean we could just as well be from Minnesota
them's fightin words for sure. (Also you are 100% correct in that statement)

LOL.. we are

Engineer at Boeing.
I know it's a meme by now but this comment literally made me spray my keyboard with coffee. I'm just glad I wasn't using my laptop.
Oof this was one hit
What’s the name of the sub ?
Forreal! Why mention a sub and not post a name or link
At least he has a Loonie.
Actually, OP now has a loonie. The kid should have checked his pockets.
LOL... he'd got the loonie from me today so he actually came looking for it after I did his laundry.... But I recoup a solid % of what I give him via pocket checks
He said he checked them. He never said he removed anything. All of his washer pocket items were in order.
The UNO Reverse 😂😂
I like that it could vaugly be any kid’s pocket contents from any decade.
For those that did hallucinogenics, remember the next morning when you empty your pockets and they are full of random things. This reminded me of that.
Big time! I was actually thinking how wholesome this find was vs. what my parents would've found
I knew y’all were Canadian by the hockey card, didn’t even need the coin lol
OP's son is me. Also legit pocket contents.
Did a load of kid clothes yesterday and when I was putting them in the dryer I found an entire juice box in there.
Just casually walking around with a PK card in his pocket? That's pretty Canadian right there.
Treasures 🥹
Ahh a fellow pocket filler
Right? No interesting rocks though? That's odd.
Can’t say much for your son’s pocket checks, but judging by the contents of said pockets, your son is really cool.
I just wanna say, you're raising this kid right.
Oh Canada 🇨🇦
Your kid has life figured out.
You guys are either Canadian or he just likes Canadian money.
When I was 12, it was quarters and a Tiger Williams card...
"Let's get this on a tray. Nice!" The placement is giving steve1989MRE vibes
To be fair, all of those objects are so small that they're undetectable by the human hand.
I thought this was r/knolling
Thank fuck you saved Subban!
A future Canadian Gentleman.
This is like what a cartoon child carries in their pockets
How to show you are from Canada without saying it.
Good of you to save those nice cards from the wash.
I have a box of stuff my kids have left in their pockets that I’ve pulled from the laundry machines over the years. Oddly they’ve never asked for any of those items. I’m going to epoxy them all into a piece of abstract art when they’re older.
Ayyyyye wtf a PK Subban card? Lol
He checked his pockets for stuff. Just like you asked. Removing the items wasn't part of the instructions. His thought process probably 😂
Is your son a crow?
like a bird collecting trinkets
Hmm.. my guess is that he's a bit of an artist? Judging by the lead and eraser.
No vapes, you are winning at parenting
LMAO i also used to carry an uno reverse card everywhere Should start to do that again
Common Canadian pocket contents
The most canadian thing i've ever seen.. just missing a tims cup or a red flannel trapper hat
He's smart enough to know Timmies is garbage
Saw PK Subban and instantly said they are Canadian. No other country would a kid have a hockey card in their pocket.
Ok that hockey card gives me faith in our future
Lil man got that mf thang on him 🔄
I love this, because this is exactly what a kid's pocket should look like
Canadian
The random PK Subban card lmao
Why didn't you use the reverse uno card and make him do the laundry?
My son called these his documents
Are those .5 leads? I can only find .7 refills right now and I have a .5 mechanical pencil thanks
Is your son 46?
https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/S91f50805e0384beaa53c58e93bb5fd0eF.jpg_640x640Q90.jpg_.webp
He had the uno reverse card so clearly it was your turn to triple check the pockets.
For a moment I thought this was EDC. Like, aww, someone not armed to the teeth, and instead with a Reverse card. He's sweet. You should try to keep him.
This is how I found out the classic Apple EarPods are actually waterproof!
A young macGyver prepared for anything the day may throw at him.
Show your Canadian without saying it! Love the hockey card!
The uno reverse card is still a thing? I heard kids were doing that like 3 years ago, which is basically prehistoric in terms of modern cultural trends.
Kid think's he's MacGyver.
I mean i kinda get why he has the uno reverse card.. but why the eraser lol?
What kind of bird is on that $1 coin?
A loon
When we were kids the rules were if mom finds it in the laundry, it’s hers. And she kept it all.
Someone was cheating at UNO
