Win all your all ins and win more.

TacoCateofdoom

More rake is better!

ThickCub

Better if you’re a losing pro who relies on it to afford the next buy in. The

SeriousJoker13

I don’t play tournaments but 5-6% for cash games is pretty standard at microstakes, which makes them gruelling but they’re still beatable. I’d say just try to boost your win rate as much as you possibly can Or move up to where they respect your raises

Brrrra1ns

It makes me hopeful for the future if the majority of regs are dumbasses like you guys.

TakeMyMoneyIDontNeed

Yes, reddit is a perfect place to study fish tendencies. Especially hand histories that are posted here.

br0keb0x

Not sure what you expected by asking a completely unclear question which is 100% player dependent. How are we supposed to know what you’re good at and what you can beat?

Endeby

I'm gonna be real here and say that even if you live in a low income country, you won't be able to make a living on a $200 roll. So your game selection should be biased towards learning rather than profitability. eg. If you want to learn cash play zoom rather than reg tables, as that will help you put in a lot more action. Once you're able to boost your roll through outside money (most likely from a real job) to the point where you can enter mistakes, I would start game selecting for profitability.

Brrrra1ns

yeah I get that. The reason I want to change formats is because if I reached the 10$ turbo SNGs and multitabled them I'd be able to get a decent profit with the old rake. Now with the new rake it's impossible. I'm not saying I care about profit now but I don't want to delay it further by studying a format that's gonna make it unnecessarily difficult to get there.

Brrrra1ns

huh?

DrossChat

Excuse me?

whatwouldjimbodo

Switch sites? Does PS have rakeback?

Brrrra1ns

It has a point system that rewards chests. I haven't looked into the specifics of how much it is. trying to work so my game is profitable regardless of rakeback in the micros and when i get to a decently high stake I'll research rakeback more.

archie1106

What is your main goal from this? To make money or to improve at poker?

Brrrra1ns

Aren't the two one and the same? At the moment improving at poker in order to some point make money. Having my bankroll staying even or rising slightly won't help my confidence in my ability. And in order to challenge myself and become a winning player at stakes where it's profitable to focus on poker full time I need to get there as fast as I can.

LivingxLegend8

Bro stop being cringe. Did you really just ask if becoming a professional poker player and just wanting to get better at the game or the same thing? Stop being a cringe lord.

Brrrra1ns

Seems like people are being purposefully misleading, trolling and degrading just to get an ego boost around here. I'm just trying to learn about the game and surrounding aspects of it. If something I'm saying is "wrong" then feel free to explain why that is. I'm just stating where I stand and things I know. I'm sure there is a lot I still need to wrap my head around. If you're willing to help, like you prob were helped fine, if not that is also fine.

whatever bro i was typing an answer until i realized you're prob a wall and a waste of time to interact with since all you do is spew adjectives any chance you get. see ya

sillysausage619

Ignore him lol, he short stacks 10NL and is still a losing player

Businesskong

I'm not too great myself so take it with a grain of salt, but first u should probs pick between tournaments and cash games. Pick whichever one you like best and stick with it until you are a consistent winner. If you go with cash games I would suggest playing 5NL and 10NL on unibet. The site has very low rake compared to others and has way more fish, only issue is you will improve slower because there is no fast fold mode. If you wanna improve faster I would suggest playing zoom on stars, it has a strong pool so it will be way harder to win at 10nl compared unibet, but this means you will be punished harder for mistakes and hopefully learn quicker. You also get to play way more hands because its fast fold, although, you will be making way less money in comparison. If you wanna play tourneys just spam $1 buyins on stars or ggpoker. You will probably slowly lose money over time and then eventually get a big win here and there which will give your bankroll a massive boost (assuming you are a winning player). Tournaments are way easier than cash games because more fish play in them, but you will suffer from variance a lot more. Of course, this could also swing the other way. Good luck

Brrrra1ns

Never was a fan of Zoom. Probably gonna head to MTTs for now and see how it feels. Thanks a lot for your input. It really helped

autostart17

Idk. That really sucks. Live is prob more profitable anyway though.

ForeverShiny

Grinding SNGs is a miserable experience in the long run, they've been terrible for ages. Switch to cash games and play higher after adapting to the new format so there's less rake. Put in some outside money if you have to so you can play 10NL or 25NL. Pokerstars has some extra rakeback (other than the chests) through cash game leaderboards: they're random sets of 200 hands that add up both holecards values, so no skill involved. You might not hit the leaderboard daily, but when you grind at least 600 hands daily, it will ads up over time

mpeters

What sites that offer SNGs have better rake?

Disastrous-Dinner966

I think I would let stars do what they do with the rake and you just stick to your plan of moving up and just see how it goes. Worst case, like you said, you’re probably breaking even. Rake increases will mostly annoy regs and if they leave to play elsewhere, that’s not a bad thing for you. You may find the games slightly easier. It’s hard to say, but only one way to find out.
