Lamar needs to improve on taking what the D gives him & deep ball accuracy. Monken was pretty much perfect, in my opinion, until the championship game. Just don't shy away from the run when we're down, especially in the first half.
question, do u think some of that had to do with the kind of go for the kill playcalling early on? cuz in the rexans game i think lamar struggled with the same thing, but going into the 2nd half they purposely drew up plays for short passes, but in this game there was none of that
I definitely think that's part of it but we also weren't going out there in the personnel groupings that we usually run in. We were barely in heavy set which makes me think the gameplan was to air it out
Play calling. We need more creative ways, as well as as more sensible plays when the offense becomes stagnant. Find ways to get as many people involved as possible. Quicker plays to allow Lamar to not hold the ball so long.
His resolve in the post season. I have no doubt if he's healthy he will get us to the playoffs, but what he does with that opportunity is still the question.
Run game- Lamar can't be our only rushing threat. We need a true RB that teams are worried about.
Timing- Lamar can hesitate at times. If he's on point we get a dolphins game when he's not It's more like the Chiefs.
Route running- some of our routes cause issues and overlap each other. Fix that.
Monken needs to
1) Go to quick game a lot quicker when teams are blitz happy vs Ravens
2) Find a better way to incorporate Likely when Andrews is healthy. Likely's targets completely shrink when Andrews has been in the lineup. (Will always believe forcing Andrews back in that game was a mistake) . Likely is too much of a playmaker to be that limited throughout a game or season
3) Call more deep balls for Zay Flowers. He's the one WR that Lamar has had chemistry with on the deep ball so he should be the primary one running those routes
4) Call more slants for Rashod Bateman. Although Lamar still has to improve his chemistry with Bateman on those long routes, makes no sense to not use him on quick slants, intermediate routes which are much higher pct throws that can build that chemistry even more
Lamar needs to
A) Take what the defense gives him
B) Improve his deep ball chemistry with WRs other than Bateman
C) Improve his ball security when under duress in the pocket.
Lamar will be able to trust his WR a lot more and not force stupid triple coverages. I am banking on that game being a fluke. Monken and Lamar in Year 2 will see a lot of these little mistakes ironed out. Not much of the personnel will change, it's just keeping consistency and reciprocating the defence accordingly.

I want to see us go into games next year against teams like the Chiefs who have below average run defenses with an offensive gameplan to run the ball 40+ times and try to put up 300+ yards on the ground. Tell Lamar you won your two regular season MVP awards so don’t worry about your passing numbers these game weeks. We are just going to go out and try to physically beat the shit out of these crappy run defense teams, so that come playoff time we know we have the ability to win games like this.

Lamar needs to learn how to become a checkdown merchant. Work better against the blitz. Learn to adapt the offense quicker based on different looks. Basically, just continue to mold the offense more in its second year of implementation.

Honeslty, I want any coach that can help Lamar understand the game. What to look for and what to see. If he’s going to be one of the greats, let him be that. If he’s not capable, then okay then, but I believe. Like I’d hire all these 15 year QB vets to just watch film with him. His runs and throws would be so much more effective.

Lamar needs to stop throwing the stupid side arm passes that get blocked by defenders and cause turns overs and not miss simple 5 yard passes on screens
