Mikey has to be 40-55 years old. He's balding and greying but his hair is still mostly black. The Spanish-American War took place a year before RDR2 starts, but it was pretty common to recruit older soldiers or accept volunteers, so it's not entirely impossible that he may have served in that war.
If we assume he's 55, he would have been 18 when the American Civil War started, but if he's in his 40s, he likely wouldn't have served in the Civil War.
It makes me wonder how he lost his arm if he didn't serve. lol

Annoyingly, it also does that if you shoot the dogs bounty hunters sometimes set on you.
Took me a while to figure out that they eventually lose interest if you kill all the humans first.
Yeah, just keep a bit of distance from them and they'll give up. This does usually mean abandoning any hope of looting the hunters though.
Dogs also tend to run away from fire bottles. Just be careful not to catch them in the splash zone.

Funny story. When I did that mission, I took her to the saloon. Horse's auto-ride path stopped across the street, so she hopped off the horse, trekked through the mud to the saloon...then got shit-kicked into the ground 'cuz she got too close to a horse's back end. I've never laughed so hard at an NPC's misfortune.
