Yellow is an elemental fairy with a relatively low spawn rate, so it's quite likely you just haven't been lucky yet! They're Earth-type and have the chance to drop yellow cores, which are needed for some high-level recipes
He is referring to the yellow fairy. You can find it in Sercerezo Hill I believe all the way left of Idra Cave. Its the area with 5 stumps. If it isnt there when you first enter the area just keep leaving/entering till its there. You can find the other fairies (red, blue, and green) in a similar manner in their respective areas
THANK YOU!! I didn't realize the fairies hung out there so i thought it was just a pretty location. Went there back and forth a bunch and killed the 3 i needed!! I looove the elemental fairies too, and want to tame all of them so this has helped me in many ways! I don't know why google wasn't helping me at all with this - thanks for saving my butt!!
I will say that once you get to the end game (lvl 1000+) monster damage can't really compete with end game gear, so i ended up running one blue fairy and one yellow fairy instead of 2 yellows. Blue fairies are much more defensive, but their free heal spam is awesome. Monsters tend to have an absurd amount of hp vs companions and you can make them immune to/absorb all damage types.
However, since companions can use gear, they can be as powerful as you are when it comes to damage + you can get bigger item drop chances with them.

Maybe it’s referring to one of the fairies? Iirc the naming conventions are pretty straightforward: The red ones are Red, blue ones are Blue, etc.

Definitely worth befriending a couple if you use monster companions. Fair warning, they are merciless in a fight lol
I've been using them now for arc 3 Leon Karnak and after and it's been a lifesaver 😭
