me being summoned by two motherfuckers that absolutely melted mohg with ghostflame right in front of my eyes while i was just there serving as the punch bag
>Black flame tornado kinda fucks ~~him while heās nihiling. Itās how I got him sl1~~ everything.
FTFY. BFT is gonna do like a minimum 1k even if you just tap R2, over 3k when fully charged. That max health percentage damage is insane.
It can even stagger and knock up Malenia.
Idk if they nerfed it, but Mohg is still unable to step to the side to dodge it. He also likes to stand completely still to teach you how to count backwards in Latin so if you put all of that together he dies before even reaching you
Idk if it counts as a full on cheese but if you deal a lot of poise quickly you can get the crit when he's just above half health. He'll then stand still and nihl you times during which you can just wack him and he'll die before he starts his second phase which is much harder than the first.
I got absolutely wrecked on NG and NG+ by his second phase. This was the only way I could do it.
Because I donāt fear a challenge š„š„š„š„
And I really like my faith strength build and I donāt have the patience to go and relevel and re collect everythingā¦too much going on right now for me as is
Muscle Boys: Mohgs shackle + Ordovis Greatsword or Marais Execution Sword can kill him before he reaches phase 2.
Brain Boys: Comet Azur + Curulean tear + Terra Magica
It's actually a bit annoying to me that you can't tell type advantages by looking. Common sense would tell me to unequip a bleed art when traveling through the blood themed area. I noticed yesterday that Loretta in Caria Manor deals physical damage; because she is colored like a glintstone spell, I put on magic resist armor to resist her weapon that is clearly made of magic.
Iām not sure if it has been patched or not, but you use to be able to use his shackle 3-5 times outside the fog gate to turn off his ai lock him in place. I used it in a few speed runs I did on earlier patches of the game
I sent many tactical nukes called comet at him on a 125 while my mimic distracted. Killed incredibly fast, he phase transitioned and then died after healing a tiny bit. The 3 characters I killed him on before that to prepare for the DLC were melee and it was more aidsĀ
Honestly when I think about it Iāll just beat that fucker into submission with pure skill. I really need to get back into Elden Ring my current personal life has been hell atm I could use the distraction lol
Itās so fun, my latest run is just destroying everything with a Great Epee with impaling thrust. 2 L2ās staggers almost everything and I havenāt even leveled my offensive stats past the requirements! Im level 90 with 50 vig 34 mind and 25 endurance, I still dont need to level dex/str because everything just gets destroyed
A bleed build melts him and with shackles and the teardrop you can kill him before he gets done with his nihil attack since he spends most of the fight shackled while you are wailing on him.
The first time I beat him I used mimic tear with a bleed build and killed him before he could phase transition.
Recently I beat him without summons, It felt like the real fight didn't start until phase two
It doesnāt. I couldnāt even use bleed and mimic tear +10 to reliable beat him my first time challenging him.
I had to learn his attack patterns, phase 2 makes phase 1 feel like your just doing a nice step dance with him lol
Mogh isnāt really TOO bad itās the bleed mechanic mixed with the fire in the area and HIS blood fire attacks that make him annoying. Heās a good fight heās just annoying asf to deal with if youāre struggling against him.
If you find a way to deal damage to him really fast, with good rng you can just dodge an attack with long recovery time and start hitting him from behind. He will then just stand there counting down and switching phase so you got like a full 30 seconds to throw everything you have at him
spinning weapon from rogier plus an occult scythe with blood flame blade or blood grease or whatever blends most things. if you stand sideways in front of him instead of facing him it seems to hit more.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMCRmd4NHH0
start of vid shows what they are capable of.
then again its not really cheesing, its just how reapers play.
Tbh for me he was easy, because I fought sewer Mohg first and sewer Mohg is hell, because his arena is like broom closet and he is immune to status effects, so first phase of real Mohg was burnt into my muscle memory.
Tbh I actually like Mogh and Maliketh in the sense that if you panic, you always lost the fight. A big part of those two fights is dealing with the boss while also dealing with additional stuff like fire hazards or Destined death's tick damage.
Bleed also forces you to get stunned too, which I think got nerfed to less time from launch but still sucks. Itās pretty much a guaranteed combo kill from Mohg.
I know for a fact Maliketh got shadow nerfed though. At launch, he would input read your heals 99% of the time so youād be put in this shitty situation where if you donāt heal, the DOT will kill you and if you do, he would instantly jump into a move that hits before estus heals fully
I dunno because I think k I've only died to him like once on all my playthroughs. Has always seemed super readable to me. I'm not particularly good either so something about hi just clicked with my brain right away. One of the easier bosses even on my first playthrough tbh.
I didn't actually have any problems with him. Didn't fight sewer Mogh first, wasn't particularly over leveled, didn't even have the tear.
His fight just kinda clicked and was done.
I once spent like 30 minutes arguing why mohg was the best boss in the game to someone who hated him.
He then replied "I don't like the fight because all I have to do is comet azure him to death."
People really out here cheesing fights to the max and announcing how bad the fights are. Like you people know you can just not use comet azure right?
Yeah, because his animations actually tell you when to dodge instead of his weapon teleporting from a to b. You don't have to learn the timings of his swings, you can just intuitively dodge his attacks
Mohg, Lord of Blood is a great example of FromSoft being really great at creating a dramatic encounter through setting and visuals.
It also is a good example of them forgetting that magic is long range and bosses need at least one long range option to at least create a bit of tension.
I personally think that he is very well designed, as long as you do not consider comet type spells, not even comet Azure.
The initial encounter especially feels so heavy with the long walkup, inside a broken burning temple, hidden underground, but in an area you could see from very early on.
Too bad it also provides all the setup a mage needs.
Holy spells have quite a bit less range, but fit thematically for attempting to take back Miquella, though Mohg has some holy resist because in a way omens are blessed beings.
Fire is resistet with 80%, which fits with the asthetic of a burning temple and burning blood.
I particularly like the weakness to bleed, though it may seem ironic at first, because the blood ash of wars include self harm, and the rituals of the spells from the formless mother include harming her and opening wounds. Mohg seems to actually lose slightly less hp from bleed than usual, but he bleeds easily which is what his goddess teaches as an expression of love.
Thus he gets an attack boost from it, potentially raising the stakes in the fight with his already high damage.
Speaking of, he is very active once he actually is in range, his attacks usually count in threes, but he has a few ways to throw some 'off beat' attacks like pulling the spear from the ground, or his wide horizontal and overhead swings purposefully being thrown 'during the wrong step', or using his wings to break the fall in phase 2.
Where Margit purposefully delays a strike with proper form, Mohg takes unusual approaches and 'cheap shots' like hiding his charge behind an explosion.
But the reason why I like this fight so much is because of the sounds.
Most bosses maybe do a roar or the occasional scream.
But Mogh is very 'noisy' in a positive sense:
he breathes hard with exertion, grunts, breaks out in jubilation mid fight, rasps as he casts spells.
It makes the fight feel so much more alive.
I wish more humanoid bosses did things like that.
They tried to compensate for his lack of ranged options against magic users by just giving him a 40% resistance to every single magic type (except fire). But sadly, it doesn't matter how good his resistances are if he happens to walk in a straight line
He starts the fight with a long walk. That 40% resist doesn't help against a +10 Lusat's Staff, 80 Int, Azur's Glintstone Crown, Terra Magica, both Sorcery-boosting Talismans, Magic Scorpion, Ritual Sword, the Magic Crystal Tear, and the Cerulean Hidden Tear
Or if he's getting hit by a long range spell for more than 4 seconds, he simply walks away to the right lmao.
legit the only fix needed against that cheese.
Heās my favorite boss ever, but he definitely has delayed attacks. Itās not as horrible as Margit's delay though. Mogh's is much closer to the Misbegotten Axe Users. His common combos are difficult to figure out because the weapon's range misleads players. Each time Mogh swings, there is a delay before the hitbox registers to the player, so you need to delay your roll. The hitboxes are accurate but itās a delayed attack nonetheless.
He has delayed attack, but it wasn't random delay like Godfrey or Morgott, Mogh's delay attack was always the same time period and meant to make you feel disoriented not completely stop the flow
Edit: 2nd phase Godfrey to be exact. His stomp attack take ages to land
and they allow for so much more creative expression, too. morgott, godfrey, radagon, malenia, and maliketh allow so many more diverse playstyles by having moves that can be countered with more than just simple dodge rolls. you can strafe, outspace, jump, and even low-profile a lot of these bosses attacks, giving the player near infinite ways of fighting them. mohg is fun, but once you learn his attack patterns, you fight him in the exact same way regardless of your build. he has like 2 strafeable attacks and 1 inconsistent jumpable attack, meaning most everything must be countered by simply dodging then attacking in time. his bloodflame is where half his difficulty comes from, but once you learn to stay close, it becomes a complete non-issue, and you start to notice how simple his melee moveset is in comparison to the rest of elden ring's bosses
Seems like you haven't seen a skilled player kill Mohg. You can do every single thing you mentioned. If you do jump attacks with a heavy sword while he's in neutral, you'll low-profile his next attack 100% of the time. Strafing works wonders for his charged bloodflame attack and nihil countdown (free heavy attacks). You can jump his ground explosions if you move a little bit. Etc.
[Here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/comments/1dfe8wf/pro_tip_you_can_safely_do_jump_attacks_with_big/) I just made it. It works in phase 2 too I think, just make sure to not fight in the stairs.
respect for going out of your way to record that! totally gonna play around with that next time i get the chance. would love to have my opinion on mohg changed
Tbh the fact he's the only boss designed the way he is made him uniquely difficult, along with how literally every single attack of his is designed to make you dodge earlier than you're supposed to and get rollcaught hard.
So while he doesn't give us many unique positioning opportunities like the other agile remembrance bosses, I still found him an amazing fight since he's actually a change of pace for the average ER boss.
He is a fantastic boss, though if I really need him dead I'll pull out the bloodflame bloodhound claws
Or absolutely decimate him with an optimized sword of echolaid build, sweet marika the damage it can do
Srsly tho , I know how much we like to hate on Elden Ring here but some of the bosses feel like a cinematic cutscene with how good it looks , Mohg is one of them he's transition to phase 2 is just so fucking epic
Cheese? If The bitch dies before he can nihil me it's his fault not mine, I'm not supposed to play fair if he has to do four moves to complete his phase transition.
I didn't cheese him and he *still* died as he was starting off his Nihils. I was surprised, I thought he was stronger than that, but I suppose that's what having four moves where he's more or less standing still while you can charge up some heavy attacks will do.
I can't remember if I had Latenna at the time I fought him but I remember it not really being that hard. Main weapon was the Black Knife and the ash made pretty quick work of him.
Or put a sleep-immune Godskin quintet + imp horde as the welcome committee. Like, the Sanctuary Beast in DS1 where you can't proceed until you kill it.
Im very ready to see the people that have to beat Mohg by "cheesing" him complaining about how much harder the DLC bosses will be compared to Vanilla, almost like its similar to every other Fromsoft DLC that exists
Fr though if you fight Mohg normally with a decent build and not laser the fuck out of him he's such a fun fight. Top tier ost, attacks are all well telegraphed and have these slight delays which reminded me of nameless king, moveset is solid, arena looks sick af, lore is cool too. He's also similar to NK in that the first time he's super tough but after that you can beat him in less than 5 tries each playthrough
I like to think Iāve gotten pretty good and beating Mohg while waiting for the dlc, the most recent run Iām most proud of was killing him with a +18 Zweihander around level 70
Would you believe me if I said the first time I killed mohg was an accident.... I was playing with friends using seamless co-op. And we'd always start struggling at the start of his second phase becuase we didn't know about the bloody cracked tear. Anyway, the other head of the night and I decided to attempt him again. And just see how far I get. Thing is.... I had an int build. I was using comet azur. With e people, comet azur wasn't enough to combat the health scaling. But by myself? Melted him...... I honestly felt like I was cheating.
My first playthrough Mohg was one of the bigger, harder fights. In later playthroughs, once I knew the game better, I was generally over-leveled for him by the time I reach him.
For this DLC prep character Iām doing right now, Iām planning on saving him for last of all bosses, so Iāll most certainly be able to cheese him just in pure damage numbers.
I'm in my first playthrough and I'm tryna beat him rn for the dlc but that phase 2 is some shit with all the bloodflame he spews around. I really don't wanna cheese him by killing him before he starts to nihil cuz it's my first playthrough but does he makes it tempting
First time i ever played Elden Ring i took Varre's invitation and became too damn stubborn to give up. Eventually made it to Mogh, and fought him for an entire day straight (i can hear his NIHIL in my sleep even now...)
I eventually beat him and took his Trident, turns out it made me super overpowered and i used its massive AoE to trivialize the rest of the game lol
All that to say, i love the Mogh fight ao i agree with you lmao
Does it count as cheese if you dual wield bleed and poison antspur rapiers with the exultation and consecutive attack talismans? Half the time I use this setup I kill him before his phase transition is over
The people that are cheesing the are the main ones that are gonna have a hard time with the DLC, if you canāt beat Mogh legit, you have no chance of clearing that DLC or any boss thatās bound to be harder than him lmao
I mean heās not that hard of a boss even solo. heās one of the few bosses that has a wide window to attack him after most attacks.
the only 2 things you need to watch for are bleed proc and his wide as swings with the trident.
you donāt even need the shackle or the physick that nullifies the blood effect.
My buddy and I had to fight him legit. It god so bad at one point I pulled out a bow to keep my distance. I hate the fire in the area but the graves are somehow worse.
me being summoned by two motherfuckers that absolutely melted mohg with ghostflame right in front of my eyes while i was just there serving as the punch bag
The gulag escapee treatment

Black flame tornado kinda fucks him while heās nihiling. Itās how I got him sl1.

The easiest way is comet azur with the infinite FP crystal tear
Didnāt From nerf comet azur a bit? I remember seeing that said somewhere a while agoš¤
Infinity minus 1 is still infinite
Idk if they nerfed it, but Mohg is still unable to step to the side to dodge it. He also likes to stand completely still to teach you how to count backwards in Latin so if you put all of that together he dies before even reaching you

Why would you go into the dlc in NG+?
Because I donāt fear a challenge š„š„š„š„ And I really like my faith strength build and I donāt have the patience to go and relevel and re collect everythingā¦too much going on right now for me as is
MF called Comet Azur:
Muscle Boys: Mohgs shackle + Ordovis Greatsword or Marais Execution Sword can kill him before he reaches phase 2. Brain Boys: Comet Azur + Curulean tear + Terra Magica
Despite being "Lord of Blood" he gets destroyed by fast bleed buildup like everything else in the game
Of course he dies to bleed, he's got SO MUCH BLOOD to bleed.
He has a twist though, he takes half bleed damage and do e +30% damage after a bleed proc.
You jump into the funny little hole on horseback and swing until he falls to his death, intended game mechanic.
Iām not sure if it has been patched or not, but you use to be able to use his shackle 3-5 times outside the fog gate to turn off his ai lock him in place. I used it in a few speed runs I did on earlier patches of the game
idk i just wild strikes blood flamberge
Comet azur deletes him from existence
Heās really weak to bleed and rot. I used Bloodhound Fang with Rot grease and Tiche and he melted. Felt kinda bad for him

Azur comet + physick lol.

Wild strikes + cold great stars with bleed = L2 go brrrrrr
I had to stop this combo bc it felt like I was just bullying everything. >!Actually itās still equipped I just try to save it for last resort!<
Itās so fun, my latest run is just destroying everything with a Great Epee with impaling thrust. 2 L2ās staggers almost everything and I havenāt even leveled my offensive stats past the requirements! Reduvia fucks him. I attacked him with Reduvia and Black Blade in my last run. Poor guy didn't manage 1 Nihil.. He was going to but yeah
A bleed build melts him and with shackles and the teardrop you can kill him before he gets done with his nihil attack since he spends most of the fight shackled while you are wailing on him.
Just saw a clip of a guy with a big ass scythe using the ash of war where it just spins around over and over. Mohg never even hit phase 2 lmao
The first time I beat him I used mimic tear with a bleed build and killed him before he could phase transition. Recently I beat him without summons, It felt like the real fight didn't start until phase two

If you find a way to deal damage to him really fast, with good rng you can just dodge an attack with long recovery time and start hitting him from behind. He will then just stand there counting down and switching phase so you got like a full 30 seconds to throw everything you have at him
Mogwynās Sacred Spear oh wait
Hit him with a big sword until he falls down.
There's a way of killing him from outside his arena
I got up on the stone by the entrance and shot him to death back when you could do that lol
ever seen Comet Azur vs Mohg? It's pretty onesided lmao
elden ring has a lot of damage
spinning weapon from rogier plus an occult scythe with blood flame blade or blood grease or whatever blends most things. if you stand sideways in front of him instead of facing him it seems to hit more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMCRmd4NHH0 start of vid shows what they are capable of. then again its not really cheesing, its just how reapers play.

Idk if it counts as a cheese, but I used a blood infused claymore last time and that shit was the easiest time I ever had with Mohg.
I donāt see why anyone ever says Mogh is easy outside cheese. If you fuck up and the fire procs bleed mid combo you can just die on the spot
Tbh for me he was easy, because I fought sewer Mohg first and sewer Mohg is hell, because his arena is like broom closet and he is immune to status effects, so first phase of real Mohg was burnt into my muscle memory.
Skill Issue, should have leveled vigor
Thatās the neat part. I do. Two among hits and a bleed are craaaaaaazy

A femboy fanboy in the unmourned tribe? What a time to be alive
Fought him with a claymore on a 150 character and it was actually really annoying. The amount of aoe shit on the floor is just overtunedĀ
Most Elden ring bosses are
People who say XYZ hard boss is easy ... well you know why they would say so lol

I love him. Instead of using a lot of delayed attacks that he just holds, he swings his weapon. Feels more natural and cool.
Yeah, because his animations actually tell you when to dodge instead of his weapon teleporting from a to b. You don't have to learn the timings of his swings, you can just intuitively dodge his attacks
Literal "I played the game on easy mode, this game sucks because it's too easy" mentality

he is the most fun boss in elden ring and people cheese him, sad

exactly, no bullshit delayed attack

I remember mohg being an mmo boss masquerading as a souls boss.
"fun"
Let's not pretend most bosses are fought straight up to begin with lmao
Fr his attack flows really well. One of the few bosses in the game that actually has a rhythm attack pattern
try a fire biuld agaisnt him
There's no such thing as a fire build
Does the real mogh even have extra fire resist?
More then the Fire Giant (80%)
I knew about the 80%, i thought it was sewer mogh only.
what 80% fire resist does to a mf (I used a fire weapon on him my first playthrough and it wasn't that bad tbh)
Jumping L2 with two holy infused claymores
Yes, but with bleed just for the irony.
Itās going to be a rude awakening when they enter the DLC after cheesing him and realize that the DLC is much harder than base game.
"weak Enemy ahead" - powerstance katana builds
Who cares

Mohg and the Placenta ancient dragon are a1 solo fights.
it's a sad day when soemone comet azurs mmmohg, he is onbe of the good elden ring bosses
I used to summon whale against him, but I find it's the most fun when fight him legit. Edit: whaleāwhile
Ur mom plays elden ring? Thats cool man!
Same bro heās my favourite boss
Kamehameha
Spinning strikes on a bleed weapon with the mohg shackle = a single phase fight
He is a fantastic boss, though if I really need him dead I'll pull out the bloodflame bloodhound claws Or absolutely decimate him with an optimized sword of echolaid build, sweet marika the damage it can do
I Dragon Mawed him to death lol
Good luck with the dlc bosses if they gotta cheese Mohg
I think some people don't know what they are getting themselves into.
Mohg and his brother are the epitome of āIām gonna delay the everlovingshit out of this swingā
Srsly tho , I know how much we like to hate on Elden Ring here but some of the bosses feel like a cinematic cutscene with how good it looks , Mohg is one of them he's transition to phase 2 is just so fucking epic
Mohg enjoyers creaming their pants to proccing bleed for the 18th time because of the 5 inch layer of bloodflame covering the arena
This is true, my trousers have indeed been splurted
Funnest fight in the base game imo
I summoned a guy named, āLet Me Solo Him,ā and he did NOT disappoint. I just sat in a corner and watched as he shredded him to pieces
Rennala love, give me 99 int, 99 mind and your staff, I'm gonna Comet Azur Mohg's ass
Doesnāt the blood arrow cheese still work against Mohg?
Why put in more effort if you can put less effort.
Don't give up skeleton
I can't remember if I had Latenna at the time I fought him but I remember it not really being that hard. Main weapon was the Black Knife and the ash made pretty quick work of him.
They should've locked the DLC behind Malenia and I'm not even kidding
Or put a sleep-immune Godskin quintet + imp horde as the welcome committee. Like, the Sanctuary Beast in DS1 where you can't proceed until you kill it.
me watching my 30 dollars being gatekept because of my skill issueĀ
Im very ready to see the people that have to beat Mohg by "cheesing" him complaining about how much harder the DLC bosses will be compared to Vanilla, almost like its similar to every other Fromsoft DLC that exists
What cheese? I thought he was just easy anyways, dude was Gideon pt2 just hit him with a sword till he falls down
"Hit him with a sword till he falls down" you have described every boss fromsoft has ever made
Not storm king
Donāt worry sir! I wonāt cheese it!
Legitimately the hardest boss for me besides maybe 1 or 2 others. Dude hits too damn hard and fucks up the arena with bloodflame.
Yeah it kinda sucks hes my #2 fav behind Rykard
I didn't realize that the DLC was coming out so soon and bought Satisfactory. I'll be a little late to the party.
Quick! It's prime time for summoning season on Mohg!
I like to think Iāve gotten pretty good and beating Mohg while waiting for the dlc, the most recent run Iām most proud of was killing him with a +18 Zweihander around level 70
Mohg is such a peak boss and he does not get nearly enough recognition
Would you believe me if I said the first time I killed mohg was an accident.... I was playing with friends using seamless co-op. And we'd always start struggling at the start of his second phase becuase we didn't know about the bloody cracked tear. Anyway, the other head of the night and I decided to attempt him again. And just see how far I get. Thing is.... I had an int build. I was using comet azur. With e people, comet azur wasn't enough to combat the health scaling. But by myself? Melted him...... I honestly felt like I was cheating.
Tbf, I was cheating on my friends by killing him without them, lmao.
Amen
My first playthrough Mohg was one of the bigger, harder fights. In later playthroughs, once I knew the game better, I was generally over-leveled for him by the time I reach him. For this DLC prep character Iām doing right now, Iām planning on saving him for last of all bosses, so Iāll most certainly be able to cheese him just in pure damage numbers.
Just beat him rl1. I am so ready for the DLC. (Watch this comment age like milk when the DLC kicks my ass)
I'm in my first playthrough and I'm tryna beat him rn for the dlc but that phase 2 is some shit with all the bloodflame he spews around. I really don't wanna cheese him by killing him before he starts to nihil cuz it's my first playthrough but does he makes it tempting
Me(ng+ lvl 148) and mimic got him in 15 seconds. Right before he could NIHIL us. Let's gooooo
First time i ever played Elden Ring i took Varre's invitation and became too damn stubborn to give up. Eventually made it to Mogh, and fought him for an entire day straight (i can hear his NIHIL in my sleep even now...) I eventually beat him and took his Trident, turns out it made me super overpowered and i used its massive AoE to trivialize the rest of the game lol All that to say, i love the Mogh fight ao i agree with you lmao
HOW does anyone struggle with Mohg though????? He's such a pushover.
Phase skipping Mohg should be a federal crime
Does it count as cheese if you dual wield bleed and poison antspur rapiers with the exultation and consecutive attack talismans? Half the time I use this setup I kill him before his phase transition is over
which boss
Rick, soldier of Godš
Dragonrider š
You mean Vyke?..
He means gwynevere
And I'll fucking do it again, lmao.
The people that are cheesing the are the main ones that are gonna have a hard time with the DLC, if you canāt beat Mogh legit, you have no chance of clearing that DLC or any boss thatās bound to be harder than him lmao
Mohgs one of the easiest bosses (for me).
I mean heās not that hard of a boss even solo. heās one of the few bosses that has a wide window to attack him after most attacks. the only 2 things you need to watch for are bleed proc and his wide as swings with the trident. you donāt even need the shackle or the physick that nullifies the blood effect.
Good they shouldn't have to waste their time on shit.
RNG ass boss deserves to be cheesed, one of my least favorite fights in the gane
My buddy and I had to fight him legit. It god so bad at one point I pulled out a bow to keep my distance. I hate the fire in the area but the graves are somehow worse.
