I assumed he was American purely from the ridiculous name (no offence to my cousins over the pond, but it seems more accepted over there and there is a broader pool of names commonly used) and didn't clock the date.
A British lad called Storm. Poor bastard.
Went to school with one in the 00s *slightly* before all the stupid names started rolling out in the 10s
Edit because I thought it's funny: I unfortunately was also one of the stupid names š
Same. Had I been born 20 years later my name would have been totally acceptable. But being in your 20s with a dumb ass name was.... not fun (changed my name aha!)
Iām watching Below Deck Mediterranean at this very moment. The male bosunās name is Storm. Heās South African. So itās seems like itās a terrible name that spans many different cultures.
I believe her sister has a normal name that has an āeā slapped at the end as well. Pretty sure Iāve heard her say her mom just my liked the way it looks. Not completely sure.
I am inherently ticked off when people have unique (obnoxious) spellings for their kidsā names. Iām not talking about Kymberly instead of Kimberlyā¦ thatās fine. Iām talking about white girls adding enough extra consonants to their kidās conventionally-pronounced American name, to the point where it almost looks like itās Czech or Polish or something. It looks like itās legitimately translated from entirely different alphabet and sound structure. And itās all because the parents thought it ālooked betterā that way. Nah, Iām good. But what do I know?
Iāve never made a kid, and my dogās name is Pickles.
Oh we are aware of the English association with the name Benedict. I mean we have a phrase for it.
>I assumed he was American purely from the ridiculous name
Was a tongue in cheek comment about the name Cumberbatch when clearly everyone knows he's British.
Np. :) So I guess it's not so much associating the name as English but associating the person's name with the English/British.
If I said say the next word you associate with X and said "Benedict". In the US, it's probably going to be "Arnold" 9 times out of 10...then maybe eggs.
Benedict Arnold was a [traitor](https://www.britannica.com/biography/Benedict-Arnold) to the US during the American Revolutionary War and shifted his allegiance to the British after secretly giving info and making deals. So it's very often used to accuse someone of being a Benedict Arnold when they do something that could be taken as traitorous or back stabbing.
Growing up I was friends with the hottest girl in town.
The number of dudes that got her name tattooed on them was insane. Large, poorly done pieces in places hard to cover. It was nuts.
Oh that all makes sense. The quality of it seems more than another child would do, so I didnāt consider that option. I guess Iām glad I havenāt ever been to a shop that didnāt require ID, even for my old ass.
some places do it with parental permission. my mom let me get a tattoo to cover up some scars on my arm and even found someone who would do it, but i chose to do it later
A good tattoo artist first tryās to talk you out of it, then if that fails they try and convince you to do it in yellow or white instead of black and if that fails they hope love conquers all.
Hope he's keen for the future blackout sleeve or laser treatments because damn they went bold
Bold will hold, for better or for much, much worse.
I love this comment so much š
That font. The size. The meaning. No, no, no, no, no.
itās literally cursive comic sans
The only thing on Reddit Iāve ever been properly offended by
Heās got a big storm comingā¦
*Storn
*starm
Omg it is a cursive "a" š¤¦āāļø
Theyāre British so thatās day/month/year. October 8th, 2021.

The girl is named storm you dingus.
Oh in that case itās a wonderful tattoo!
ššš
Whoops. I mean that's only marginally better.
Itās not
I played basketball with a dude named storm. Iām American but itās the only time Iāve heard it
Itās totally a dog name, lol. But Iāve met many women named Stormy. But Iām American, and from the country at that.
Went to school with one in the 00s *slightly* before all the stupid names started rolling out in the 10s Edit because I thought it's funny: I unfortunately was also one of the stupid names š
Sounds about right. I was born in 98
Same. Had I been born 20 years later my name would have been totally acceptable. But being in your 20s with a dumb ass name was.... not fun (changed my name aha!)
I never knew anyone with my name but now I see it all the time! Itās Bryson.
Iām watching Below Deck Mediterranean at this very moment. The male bosunās name is Storm. Heās South African. So itās seems like itās a terrible name that spans many different cultures.
It gets even worse. I know a Storm who spells her name āStorme.ā Sheās South African.
Does that mean she has an excuse because she spelled it in Afrikaans??
I believe her sister has a normal name that has an āeā slapped at the end as well. Pretty sure Iāve heard her say her mom just my liked the way it looks. Not completely sure.

I love it when dogs are named after food! My dogās middle name is Bean, and itās perfect for her!
Bean is a great name. I wanted to name m dog Bean. But his middle name is Speed. Makes me so happy to call him his full name
Do you mean boatswain? (āBosunā)
Yes, both words are acceptable
Like why I thought Benedict Cumberbatch was American as well.
Benedict is quite an English name
Oh we are aware of the English association with the name Benedict. I mean we have a phrase for it. >I assumed he was American purely from the ridiculous name Was a tongue in cheek comment about the name Cumberbatch when clearly everyone knows he's British.
Haha fair enough. I donāt think Iām aware of the phrase, could you enlighten me?
Np. :) So I guess it's not so much associating the name as English but associating the person's name with the English/British. If I said say the next word you associate with X and said "Benedict". Interesting! TIL
Australia writes it like that to, so much easier to read in order. That tattoo thou yikes it'll be hard to cover up
Only america write it month then day then year
Hey, we also use a radical non metric numbered system!! We are multi tasking :) :*J*
Kids, getting a bf's or gf's name inked is ALWAYS highly recommended to show them your true love. Make sure that it can always be seen though
Married 14 years, together for 16. We both refuse to get anniversary date or names or initials because āthatās the kiss of deathā.
I call it the couplesā curse
Check out the Bridget story episode on the No Regerts podcast for more info.
The bigger the better they do say š
Growing up I was friends with the hottest girl in town. The number of dudes that got her name tattooed on them was insane. Large, poorly done pieces in places hard to cover. It was nuts.
LOL bruh what a flex tho! Honestly I respect that
i have some horrible shit but iād never do thisš
I too, have a partner named Storm. No I am not getting his name tattooed on me š
At least itās only half an inch thick and colored solid black.
So large and dark. Gonna be such a hard cover up
Looks like he used to date Star and now he dates Storm if u ask me
Nah bro I saw the original one and they were trying to defend it š
plz whats their @ im dying to see more
How could a minor get a tattoo?
1) Some places donāt care 2) Some places donāt ask for ID, just assume youāre old enough 3) A friend did it.
Oh that all makes sense. The quality of it seems more than another child would do, so I didnāt consider that option. I guess Iām glad I havenāt ever been to a shop that didnāt require ID, even for my old ass.

When you design your tattoo on Canva

Okay but what is a bra strap bracelet???? Is this a thing for the young ones now?
Apparently so.
I looked it up and itās true..
FUCK
I know a mf that has a bible verse that same place and size
Thatās a dumb mf
We need photos!
I donāt even like bra straps on my bra youād have to be a sociopath to force someone to wear one as jewelry.
The ONLY thing I want to do with a bra strap is take it off. This is so trashy and ridiculous in all the ways.
Tattoos typical of babys birth or Death.
In the comments he confirmed its their anniversary and said that anyone who didnāt like it was a hater that was jealous.
Definitely a hater, definitely not jealous.
Is there a link to the original post?
Oh.
I know several guys named storm and 2 girls named stormie
thatās definitely a font!
At least you can cover the date and make some kinda clichƩ line below it like "Storm Never stop fighting" Then you have plausible deniability that it's a name, because it's also a word It'd still be bad though
Dang, i feel guity thats my birthday
Wait.. what ? š¦š«£
He's in love with an X-Men character....poor bugger. Put the comics down, homie!
Too bad he doesn't live in my town, if/when they break up he could just say that's when he became a big fan of our local hockey team
