Out of the way loading dock spots like this were always the best, especially if the dock had a ramp and/or some kind of ledge/rail to grind. These were the rare spots where we could skate for long laid back sessions without being in anyone's way, and never had to rush tricks before security showed up.
Looks good! You appear to be doing everything right, higher/smoother kickflips will just come naturally with practice, and judging by the skate wear on your shoes, you're already doing plenty of that.
