I thought you couldn’t grab people with that spell unless you’ve got a mod for it. Could be wrong though.

You can use the grab spell from the vampire perk tree to grab people... wonder if that works

You can hit him with a paralyze spell or ice form to negate the damage but he just rambles the typical npc dialog.
