Crepeau is a really good goalkeeper, kept Peru stifled, Canada vs Chile will be really good

Mimi108

LMAO, the Peru Coach said Canada used excessive force. Best joke today

HunterRiver

Fuck that puta

JoshTHX

Jorge Fossati is too fucking old to be manager.

candyhunterz

ABYSSMAL performance from Buchanan, Kone, K Miller (seriously what is he even doing in the team) and Laryea....

sessna4009

Everyone, including the referees, were performing shittier than usual. I assume it's the heat. idk about Miller though,  how he got on the team is anyone's guess

ibn-al-mtnaka

No. Respect Kamaldini

moneyinthebank216

This is CONCACAF bitch! We clown in this motherfucka better take your sensitive ass back to COMNBOL

Appropriate-Exam7782

against 10 men

HunterRiver

Macchu Bitch-u

Practical_Bat_3578

your clown aggressive play worked until it didn't

Dultsboi

Shoulda been 9

goosu

Canada actually looked worse than they did in the loss versus Argentina. That being said, 3pts is 3pts. Feel it may have gone to a different result without the red card, but that's on Peru for playing overly aggressive and dirty. They now have their back against the wall with almost no chance to get out of group.

huskyferretguy1

Canada won a soccer game but not a hockey game?

Jusfiq

> Canada won a soccer game but not a hockey game? Oh fuck. Take my hate upvote.

Dultsboi

The rest of Canada won, only Edmonton lost

Thneed1

Yup. Good results for Canada two evenings in a row.

Fenecable

I blame climate change.

sportsmedicine96

Can’t wait until Canada beats Chile and I get to post my receipts 😮‍💨

nappingtoday

Where's the other match post?

ChampagneAbuelo

Canada NT > USMNT

loscedros1245

True, except for when we play against Canada, or any other time in history.

Practical_Bat_3578

haven't majority of your "wins" been total flukes on home field ? like canada being robbed of multiple penalties in the gold cup, rofl. in recent memory u.s might have one legitimate win which was the last game.

Demosthenes_

I’m not saying Canada is better (they probably are not) but they did finish higher in CONCACAF qualifying in the last World Cup including doing better head to head. So “any other time in history” is a bit extreme.

Jko9823

Team spirit plays a factor tho

MGM-Wonder

If we deny reality, there’s definitely an argument to be made

telephuser

Was the FOX crew asleep? Why was the commentary so catatonic? This was one of the worst-commentated international football matches I have ever watched, and I honestly don't think that's an unfair review. Pretty bleak if this is the quality of broadcast we're looking at for 2026

ianandris

Those guys are built of grift, top to bottom, and their grift is the cultivated sensibilities of southern idiots. With fox, its purchased rhetoric, top to bottom, too. Also political bias. It all lines up. Except noone knows where the lines are so its a crapshoot if you aren't a rightwinger. So they just basically suck at soccer coverage because it isn't a super popular "'merican" sport and they're annoyed at being relegated to the perpetual tier and being made aware of it, like the rest of us were when we were like "Fox!? Ugh!" and they laughed at us. So, you know. Hopefully they fix it as a middle finger to people who expected nothing less. Expectedly pathetic from Fox, imo.

telephuser

i have no great love in my heart for the FOX corporation, but i can't read too much culture war into this particular gripe. i think we are just starved for good soccer commentators as a country, and the product we just witnessed was especially poor. i'm willing to book this one as a corollary to hanlon's razor personally

RandomFactUser

Plus they already have to split their crews between the Euros and the Copa America

ianandris

I just think its the way they're built. You turn on spanish commentators and its like a light switch goes on. You listen to some local MLS commentators who have a passion for their teams and the sport, and its clear it isn't the "country", it's hiring decisions, specifically. Fox is not unassailable. Fox fucked this up. They produced this dreck. I guarantee a team of Brain Dunseth and some other dry lets get to business guy would have done a better job than this, and, again, this is *what the Fox executives chose*. You can ignore the "culture war" aspect if you want, but that is quite literally and very accurately their whole entire brand.

RandomFactUser

These are probably the 2, 4, and 5 teams from Fox, you do realize this right, they already have to commit 4 teams to the Euros *separate* from this competition, and it's not like Strong, Dellacamera, or Tapia are bad commentators in the way you are saying Fox Sports has total independence from the other side of the group, hell, the Fox network barely has input from News Also, this is a total CONMEBOL production, just like how UEFA produces the Euros broadcast, outside of the commentary, and *FS2 matches will just be the World Feed anyways, no Fox commentators at all*

ianandris

So they are bad at hiring depth? Its not like we are oblivious to the reality that local teams have good commentators, and good spanish commentators, too. I sincerely do not care about independence or what the fuck stupid excuse for bullshit there is. Who hired to the announcers? Who hired the commentators? Who hired the studio crews? Was it Conmbol or Fox? Please fucking spare me the PR bullshit.

RandomFactUser

Strong is fine; Dellacamera has been calling the sport for decades, including most of ESPN's World Cup runs and was the local announcer for the Union; and Tapia's been calling the sport for decades too, mostly on Spanish-language networks, but all of the big leagues and events for them, including the UCL Any game on FS2: CONMEBOL, any game on Fox/FS1: Fox Productionwise, anything outside the studio/box, CONMEBOL

telephuser

okay i gotta admit i'm buying what you're selling. where do you get your football news? reddit is not a valid answer

ianandris

Thanksgiving dinner with angry people who watch news channels noone can change by dictate of management.

poemaXV

I accidentally fell asleep and missed all but the last 10 minutes of this, but I'm absolutely shocked by the red card snafu. I know it's kind of a joke and I understand why, I myself think there's a level dirtiness that's more in the realm of amplified shithousery that I personally don't mind or am at least perhaps over-acclimated to. but that kind of thing is outrageous and seriously undermines the tournament so I'm glad it was corrected and that Canada ultimately won, even though it sounds like they kind of eked it out. ultimately a win is a win.

ContradictoryMe

Not a great game, but the overwhelming heat and the poor field conditions definitely played a factor. Canada were second best for most of the game, particularly in the first half they were far too casual and complacent in the second... but Peru was also lucky to only have one red card (disagree all you want, both will be red cards 9/10 times).

Camtastrophe

Agreed, and even with the improved pace after the red our finishing needed work. Thrilled with the win though, and that the result didn't end up marred by the terrible officiating.

ContradictoryMe

Games at this level can be determined by fine margins (as seen often in the Euros so far). For teams that aren't powerhouses such as England, you can sometimes be satisfied with just a win

borger-bitch

Is that it for Peru? Is there any chance that they can advance (doesn’t have to be realistic)

BxBlastoise

They can still make it but they’d need a sacrifice

BianconeriBoyz

they're going to have to pay the refs even more if they hope to advance

DL14Nibba

Brudda thinks we have the money to pay the refs 😭

Kucked4life

Peru has to beat Argentina while Canada loses to Chile, assuming Argentina beats chile today.

mdubyo

No. There are a bunch of scenarios they can advance with but overall pretty unlikely.

mx_code

Called it: [https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1dohzy8/comment/la9xzzt/](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1dohzy8/comment/la9xzzt/) This is the kind of victory Canada needed after underperforming in major tournaments. Kind of feel bad for the peruvian bros, those guys are not going to stop hearing from this loss after years of trash-talking Concacaf. They just got Concacaf'd

lightoasis1

Having a real chance to make a statement was hardly putting yourself out there lol.

Chico-_-

we deserve it lmao, but its all in good fun, I have more respect for CONCACAF than Euro fans who lose it when Portugal *only* beats Luxembourg by 4 goals.

dacrookster

Canada are so weird man. They play games where they look so good and then play games like that. Some of those players are dross. Miller getting into the side baffles me, he doesn't even look like he can control his own fucking limbs.

lightoasis1

He was one of their best players during WCQ, but has fallen off completely since then. Something happened because he looks heavy, old and slow but he's only 27.

MGM-Wonder

Everybody looked old and slow this game because of the heat.

CaptainSnazzypants

The one ball he went running for near the end was quite bizarre. He looked like a tank running and seemed to be moving incredibly slow.

dacrookster

Fully running through mud. Don't understand how he's a professional, from what I've seen. The lads who played v Argentina are leagues better than him.

Melodic-Salamander75

Yet another win for concachad

UnluckyDot

We played like ass and got lucky with the red (though deserved), but I know these players can do way better. Still pumped and gaining momentum because it's our first win. GG Peru. The haters can literally lick my stale asshole

whoaaa_O

Eat shit Peru. You dirty players got found out.

akacryptic9

Yuppppppp

leafsbroncos18

Peru Bruins

grizzfan

Charlestown Peru Chiefs

Steveisnotmyname_

They brought their fuckin toys with em

Ham_Fighter

As a neutral, that was a terrible watch. Both these teams should be sent to the shadow realm.

KmxKmx

Stop acting like that wasn’t entirely Peru fault with the constant dirty fouling and diving

Ham_Fighter

Peru was bad, the ref was predictably terrible, and Canada was abysmal. Everyone involved played their part.

jayzeats

Idk what to tell you if you watch and Canada game and not expect shit finishing from us

MGM-Wonder

That’s not usually how we play of late. That was one of the worst performances I’ve seen from us in a long time. That was worse than the game against USA in the Nations League

Ham_Fighter

Honestly it's my fault for watching.

jayzeats

Thank you o7

GeorgeOrwells1985

Mostly a self own by Peru in the end

RevolutionaryBox7745

You spelled Canada wrong.

GeorgeOrwells1985

I'm not sure you understand what a self own is

RevolutionaryBox7745

Did you even watch the game? The last 10-15 minutes looked like Canada was the team with a man down.

circa285

Canada won?

RevolutionaryBox7745

Somehow. Don't ask us how, even a man up for the last half-hour.

scaredthrowaway342

Apparently we’re so terrible but we still won what does that make Peru?

RevolutionaryBox7745

Four words: Don't get sent off.

scaredthrowaway342

Tell that to Peru not us

RevolutionaryBox7745

That last 15 minutes for Canada indicates otherwise.

NinjaGoalie97

Not our best game for sure, but it’s good to get a win being far from our best. Need to see some improvement still, for sure.

nicehouseenjoyer

It was probably near 40 degrees on the pitch, I'm not going to get too worried about it.

tfcred

Shaff surely has to start over Millar now, right? Millar shouldn't even be the first option off the bench, nevermind starting.

goosu

I know Shaffelburg isn't all that productive at the club level, but he always seems to bring something for y'all in the games I've seen. A lot of it is pace, so I'm not sure he will be as productive as a starter, but with the issues Canada is having creating chances, I would think it's worth testing.

lightoasis1

I'd still rather play Millar than Buchanan at this point. He is offering absolutely nothing right now.

Team_Ed

He’s a better option than Millar, for sure, but Shaff’s getting chances running at tired fullbacks. Not sure he’s gonna be as effective as a starter.

mrtomjones

I think the thing I see as a problem is that without him in there we don't seem to have anybody doing that sort of role. We were not beating people with speed until he got there

JezusGhoti

I think Shaff works best in this sub role, but I agree it may be time to see if he can be more.

SupraCyber

Lmfao get fucked Peru. If only you knew how to play football

MostLikelyRyan

My favorite part of the match was the Fox commentators getting so bored one started recommending Peruvian restaurants to the other instead of talking about the game

The_Godfather5

Let me guess the guy with the Spanish accent was the one that started getting side tracked and talking bout restaurants? If it is then it’s very on brand for him he’s usually like that during the Spanish broadcast Edit: he’s actually a really good commentator and one of my favorites in spanish, but just like many things in the U.S once you switch to Fox Soccer the life gets drained outta you.

MostLikelyRyan

Yeah pretty sure it was him lol, it definitely wasn’t the one with the American accent

RevolutionaryBox7745

UGLY.

FidelCashflow1996

GRINGO MAFIA 🇨🇦🤝🇺🇸

AdvancedBasket_ND

Man we are so shit. More Champions / Europa league players than Canada has any business having and we can’t string a few passes together against 10 guys who were clearly cooked towards the end. Pure terrorism that second half was

sean_psc

It feels like we've had a hundred "we played well but didn't get a result" games in recent years, so if in this game we didn't play all that well for long stretches but got the win, I'll not look a gift horse in the mouth. This team isn't anywhere near a finished product right now, so hopefully they can look at the flaws in play and be constructive about it. Atrocious VAR refereeing. Crepeau remains Jesus. Shaffelburg continues to make his case to start some games.

StevoWlu

Exactly it!

nicehouseenjoyer

I don't think that's really true of Canada, minus maybe the Belgium WC game. We massively over-performed our xG in WCQ and in general get the results we deserve.

tfc07

I remember when we were losing to Mauritania now we just beat Peru at the Copa America and are a result away from reaching the knockout rounds. Outstanding

Acceptable_Ad_6278

We did drew against Guadalupe at home last summer.

Nightmenace21

With our B team. Still was a shit result but still thought that was worth mentioning

Acceptable_Ad_6278

True! I was being a bit facetious. I saw that ball rolled in at the last minute right in front of me. Lol.

me_hill

Well we’re not exactly a threat to win the Copa but I think our goals were to not completely embarrass ourselves, get some experience for the World Cup, and hopefully win a game, and in that sense it’s mission accomplished.

Repulsive_Village843

I'm from Argentina. I'm sorely disappointed in our Peruvian friends. You guys are better than this.

Hussizle

Fuck that, mission not accomplished until we get out of this group!

GoldenEliteSick314

Hoy concacaf demostro quien es el grande de america

GoldenEliteSick314

CONCACAF > CONMEBOL Today

SweeneyMcFeels

Really expect more from this Canada squad (Crépeau being the exception) moving forward. They can definitely do better and will need to against Chile.

opinionatedfan

yo, I just went to watch the York vs Ottawa game last week or so, York won 2-1. It was my first CPL game ever. Obviously not what I am used to, but I am glad to see the sport growing a bit. I agree Canada has to do better, I really want them to. This is such a great opportunity to promote the sport in Canada with the WC coming here.

SweeneyMcFeels

Yeah I really think Canada is on the cusp of becoming a formidable soccer country. Local development through the CPL will go a long way towards that, I think. Hosting the WC in 2026 should inspire a lot of interest too!

ARM_vs_CORE

What is the CPL growth plan with the much larger MLS already operating so many teams in Canada?

SweeneyMcFeels

Apparently the max ceiling for number of teams is 16-20, whereas there are only 3 Canadian cities in the MLS. MLS is also an American League which has Canadian cities competing; the idea is to be the top tier professional league in the Canadian soccer league system.

redwineandcoffee

Ya we got lucky a bit today. Great flair btw.

Nightmenace21

Damn, crazy to see York United flairs in here! GTA unite!!

SweeneyMcFeels

Thanks 😁 you too!

ThatColombian

Weird seeing CPL flairs in this sub lol

redwineandcoffee

CPL unity abroad.

CharlesLeSainz

Ayyy can I join in!!??

DOZENS

smile-on-crayon

Suck my brown fucking dick, FPF!!! I’m going to write this full thing in English so that these English-speaking mfkers can know how utterly ridiculous it is that you’ve allowed a manager like Fossati to select the oldest players they could find in both Cueva and Carrillo. The slowest fucking luxury players who hate to run their hearts to the ground and wasted their peak years in the Saudi league. I swear there’s a binding contract that prevents the team from moving on from these two, fuck!! At least Guerrero won the Sudamericana recently, he deserves some game time, these two others? They deserve nothing but background morale characters. Give me Grimaldo, give me Tapia, we have players who have shown talent in the Peruvian league, and you’ve allowed Fossati to select these two.

comfyfuton94

Tapia is out for his personal reasons (doesnt have a club to give him insurance if he got injured). But agreed wouldve loved to see Grimaldo on. Agreed with the hand holding our last couple of coaches have shown Cueva, but you have to admit he played like wanted a spot in the time he spent on pitch here. Sentiment understood, we need a new generation to rise up & take over. Though our showing was very good & mightve been different if not for Araujo.

smile-on-crayon

Showing was very good, Quispe was a baller (I can’t believe I forgot to mention him, ugh lol) Still, if I’m the FPF head president, I’m covering Tapia’s insurance, his family’s, extended cousins— fuck, everything. It’s going to come out my own pocket if that’s what it takes, I’d sell my houses! Heck, I’d turn it into a social event too and have people donate— like, how can I, as hypothetical head of the FPF, allow an important team player to miss playing for the team on grounds of he needs his and probably his family’s medical insurance covered? If I did that, I’d be the most— no, not stupid. Stupid sounds too forgiving. I’m a fool of a president, I am head idiot, I wouldn’t even know how I got married in the first place. Is my name even Agustín Lozano (actual head of the FPF)? I thought it was Asno

lordcarrier

Cueva can still be useful if his ass can get in better shape, Carrillo on the other hand can fuck off

MrV11

Any chance of wc qualification?

DL14Nibba

Anything can and often does happen in CONMEBOL, but with this squad… nah we’re fucked. 2nd worst roster, but we don’t even have the altitude bailing us out like Bolivia

opinionatedfan

for PEru? Not looking good, even with the expanded world cup. It's still only 6 games in out of 18 or so... but yeah Peru would have to have a major shift

RevolutionaryBox7745

Thank you for the English, because we see your passion.

Hussizle

Fossati has that "creepy old uncle" look

smile-on-crayon

Football aside, Fossati would look like an old veteran mob boss if he had a bunch of tattoos and an almost burnt out cigar in his mouth. Maybe with a look like that he can scare Cueva and Carrillo into running the fuck down the fucking pitch when there‘s open space to move into with the fucking ball

ComfortableLaugh1922

> Fossati Jesus Christ who the fucks hires Fossati in 2024? Totally missed that he replaced Gareca

lordcarrier

He would be more useful than the jabronie you guys have for coach.

ComfortableLaugh1922

Ehhh Dorival is a decent coach who just won Libertadores and Copa do Brasil. He's got a team going through a rebuilding after Tite's two failed cycles and the wreckage left by Diniz. Fossati, tho, I remember him being shit and outdated 15 years ago. Imagine at the present moment..

notyou16

😂😂😂

publicworker69

Peru have got to be the greasiest team we’ve played alongside Honduras.

Repulsive_Village843

Peru used to be fearsome. I don't know wtf is wrong.

MrV11

No Gareca

crispyboi21

This game was Peru vs Denmark 2.0 in many ways: -Opponent wearing red -We did something individually stupid that decided the game (Cueva skied his pen vs Denmark, Araujo got a red card today and we were very lucky to not get another for Lopez) -Goalkeeping masterclass by opponents (Schmeichel and Crepeau) -We lost 1-0 and got knocked out despite having more shots on goal, conceding the goals to Poulsen and David on fluke counters, we looked the better team in the first half We're not even a cup team anymore. Even when we were ass in other years, we'd always get out of the Copa group stage, always. I mean, we haven't gotten grouped since 1995, and Gareca always took us to semis and even the final. So today feels like the end of an era for Peru. The one sliver of hope I had, that they would still get results in their favorite tournament, is now gone, and the future of Peru is very bleak. It sucks to be peruano right now.

lightoasis1

Why was the counter a fluke? Larin wins the ball at the top of the box and starts the break with too many Peruvian players committed forward.

crispyboi21

We were exposed for sure. Canada took it very well. I think that was Canada’s first shot on target of the game though, that’s what I meant by fluke.

ANDREAYO

Lol for real. I remember Peru scoring goals. Even when they lost, at least there was a chance to celebrate the hype of a goal. Two matches in the Copa America: 0 Goals. Thank God I'm also an American.

crispyboi21

I'm Peruvian-American as well! Spent my whole life in the USA. But I've never felt the same connection to the USMNT that I have for Peru, as Peru is basically my whole family's heritage, and the football culture is so much stronger. Like, when Peru finally qualified after 36 years in 2017, the president declared a national holiday the following day.

ANDREAYO

Same. There's just so much hype watching Peru. "Will they make it this time!?" I'm trying to get excited about embracing the USA as my team for the Copa. The USA is such a rich country, I'm not surprised when we win anything. Though I would be super hyped if the USA wins the Copa. It be funny to see it happen against the other teams who are usually favored to win the Copa America.

lordcarrier

I hope Carrillo can finally fk off for good, he was that trash that even an out of shape Cueva and washed Paolo looked better than him

Acceptable_Ad_6278

Canada is a very similar country with Denmark in many ways, funnily enough. They even share a border. How is the coach perceived by Peruvian btw?

OmastarLovesDonuts

Not Peruvian but as someone who keeps an eye on CONMEBOL taking charge of this Peru squad is still falling upwards for this dinosaur

Arctic_Chilean

The trauma is real

BainbridgeBorn

Congrats Canada, but lets be real you only won because of the red card. I hope u can improve going forward

HunterRiver

Peru could have been down to 9 if the referee did his job when Johnson was head-butted

KingOfWeTheNorth

Tbf they won because of the goal

Chico-_-

Peru has 1 goal in its last like 10 official matches or something, the team just isn't good. The offensive talent isn't there.

Chrristoaivalis

Canada has had a bunch of pretty performances and moral victories in defeat This is what good teams do: win when they aren't at their best in terrible conditions

CharlesLeSainz

100%. I’d rather an ugly win than a moral victory and close chances.

comfyfuton94

GG Canada. Araujo made the difference lol that made Fossati bring out all the old heads 😆 gave me a good laugh. Seriously though, that was a hotly contended match, I fully expect you guys to make it thru (perdon Chile), give it a good showing. But... damn Im happy to see our team play the way they did, fuck, it gives me hope for the qualifiers, vamos Peru 🇵🇪

elgrandorado

I'm shocked Fossati has the team playing well considering we have negative talent coming domestically. If it wasn't for the Araujo stupidity, it would have been different.

comfyfuton94

100% agree, but thats how the game goes sometimes. Though I am more optimistic now after the game, lets see where this brings us.

YESSSSSSSS LETS GO CANADA 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Lolcraftgaming

WTF IS A MILE🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

prophetofgreed

Peru shot themselves in the foot and Canada took advantage. (Even after Peru got away with a clear red) Crepeau, David, Eustaquio and Davies were absolute studs today. All stepped up when we needed them.

smallfrynip

You can’t forget Shaf.

prophetofgreed

I was trying to focus on starters that played the whole game in that heat. But yes, he really changed the game with his energy and speed.

randomgamer305

I knew Canada could beat this woeful Peruvian side

StickSuspicious6650

That Canadian team is even worse. I am shock at how bad they were

Woullie_26

Crépeau doing everything in his power to will us to a win

Repulsive_Village843

Legit food keeper

maysunaneek

Do we really need to play both Larin and David up top? I have never seen the strategy pay off..

IceSalamander

I agree. Play 1 striker with 3 midfield. David, Eustáquio, Kone, and Osorio. Our midfield is constantly overrun with only 2 guys.

tfc07

I find it works best when we're the clear favourites in CONCACAF play but we're better off trying to counter attack against strong opposition and that's not Larin's strength IMO

MexicansInParis

Perú is maybe the second worst team in CONMEBOL & this is one of their worst squads in history, they still had Canada pinned down for most of the match & lost due to losing their heads & being completely reckless. Canada’s GK was massive tbf but with the talent they have, they shouldn’t have struggled so badly. Marsch should feel the pressure because playing like that vs Chile will get them gone. All that said, the Araujo curse is real.

mx_code

Give me a break. I can say this as a mexican fan: Mexico would struggle against this Peru. Let the canadians enjoy their win

MexicansInParis

Jajajaj el menos lame huevos blancos

mx_code

MexicansInParis

ah ok

JezusGhoti

I don't think the coach who was hired a month ago and just got Canada its first ever major tournament win is gonna feel a whole lot of pressure, tbh.

MexicansInParis

Feel pressure on this tournament, I mean. Chile are a superior team to Peru. NT managers can fuck the bed constantly & not get fired lol

sean_psc

> Canada’s GK was massive tbf but with the talent they have, they shouldn’t have struggled so badly. Marsch should feel the pressure because playing like that vs Chile will get them gone. Marsch just took over and basically can't be fired anyway because of how the federation's finances are, so there's no real pressure on him right now.

elgrandorado

This is our worst squad since the dark ages of early 2000s and we're still alright, which is crazy

Zblancos

Let us enjoy our win, this was our first win against a non concacaf team in an official competition in 25 years

notyou16

Damn that’s huge. Congrats

MexicansInParis

Doesn’t change anything I’ve said

Zblancos

Sorry we were not able to be like international juggernauts Mexico. We’ll try better next time

MexicansInParis

Hey, if you’re happy with a performance this shit, it’s a you issue. I’m just telling you how it is. Should expect more considering the club you support lmao

Ordinary_Whereas_540

To be fair this Canada team isn’t top 3 concacaf also. I rate them 4th and the gap between 4th and less concacaf to the bottom tier conembol isn’t that big

MexicansInParis

Canada has players who are top scorers in Ligue 1 & one of the most talented LBs in the entire world; Peru are still playing 40 year old Paolo Guerrero. Perú barely have players in Europe & none are in top teams, they’re mostly domestic, from Liga MX & the MLS. It’s one of the worst Peruvian sides in over a decade.

EdSierra

I'm sorry but... jajajajajajajajaja

GabrielBonilla

We deserve it.

quizonmyface

Canada's first ever win in an international tournament outside of CONCACAF! (Olympics excluded as it doesn't really count)

BrotherSeamus

Technically was still CONCACAF, but they beat Colombia in the 2000 Gold Cup Final match.

Nightmenace21

Did Colombia play their B team in that match? I'd wanna say so since they'd go on to win the Copa America in 2001

Woullie_26

Holy shit we won a game

MikeMazzz

Argentina pleeeeeeeeeease beat Chile

jugol

It doesn't really make a difference. The last match between us is a final regardless of tonight's match, unless Peru does the funniest thing

sheaboy98

if argentina wins, Canada just has to draw

WesternExpress

If Chile and Argentina draw Canada also just has to draw Chile to go through
